I told Mum l don't have a problem with it . Which l don't. I just want her and Bob to be happy . They could have a council Oap bungalow l am sure if they wanted to which means they can keep their houses to scurry back to if they end up hating each other Grin. Hey ho he's 89 and she is 88. £9 sports centre cafe. On three coffees an apple juice and a gingerbread man. I had two coffees one whilst waiting for dh and ds to finish swimming. One with them.

Absolutely buzzing now!

Swimming this morning. So much fun! Dd loves the water. Ds also loves it.

Have come home both kiddos napping and I’ve sorted laundry changed beds and am waiting for dh to finish making crepes for lunch.

Popping back in - this thread is very quiet these days! Greetings everyone, hope most of the old regulars are still lurking and pop back some time 👋🏻

I am not being frugal at all - the new main bathroom is about halfway through installation and is going to be gorgeous but we’ve definitely gone over budget Blush er, didn’t properly set a budget Anyway, it will be lovely but ye gods... For instance, I chose a tap that was stretching my limits, THEN realised (when recharged by the builder) that it needed another separate part, another £150 . There’s been a couple of things like that. Anyway, it will be done next weekend and I will have to love it A LOT. Might have to ban the children from it and just wash them in a bucket in the kitchen Wink.

Other things are improving a little too - the situation with DS is somewhat better (I think the half term break helped -the recent issue is not entirely resolved but much less daily stress). Work is also very slightly better. I’ve not thought about it for a few days though so might eat my words tomorrow! I had to take an extra day off on Friday after my non-working Thursday because DD (2) was ill. She has had a horrible high fever for 3-4 days but it was finally easing today. I wasn’t worried about Coronavirus especially as she only had a fever, no other symptoms, but she wasn’t at all well with it and I was starting to worry about it not breaking, so was very relieved when she was a lot better today. I am now almost out of baby Neurofen and Calpol and may struggle to replace them with stocks everywhere being terrible. I have also realised that my forehead thermometer doesn’t work at all and is giving totally random readings. £50 and a week’s wait for a new ear thermometer from Amazon. I REALLY wanted one over the last few days when DD was all over the place but there were none to be had Hmm.

Money, state of the house and diet have all been rather out of control. I think once the bathroom is done and the chaos subsides (there’s displaced toiletries, baby change stuff etc and new bathroom fittings all over the house) I will find it much easier to get a grip on everything. In fact I’m looking forward to it!

On that note, another positive of the bathroom stuff is that we have a skip outside. I had a good rummage through the garden under-decking storage today to chuck out broken watering cans, pots etc. Shed needs a going through too but it is sooooo satisfying to get rid of knackered stuff. I’m giving away anything useful on FB too. Just want the clutter OUT.

Defo think MrsMum should marry Bob if she wants to. Never too late for a bit of happiness and companionship, how lovely! Hope your siblings can be generous about it Mrs but luckily your DM has you at least.

lifelongfrugaleer · 09/03/2020 06:47

Hey sea, loads going on as per usual with you but you sound alot more positive.

Some spends today as DD needs a new pe bag and both DC have grown since last holiday so need clothes for dinner

lifelongfrugaleer · 09/03/2020 06:47

Summer not dinner

Happierwithouthim · 09/03/2020 09:37

On a whim ended up getting my hair cut and coloured on Sat after going for a walk with my hairdresser, so €50 and then €2.50 on a protein bar and approx €30 on alcohol/taxis on Sat night and then bf paid for lunch yesterday.

We also went sofa bed shopping so I've planned spending of €3500 on a 3 seater which is a 4'6" bed also and a 2 seater matching sofas in purple velvet Grin with contrasting cushions. Looked at beds too but I need to do more measurements first for them.

seacow look forward to seeing pics of finished bathroom.

Girliefriendlikespuppies · 09/03/2020 09:45

I've been MIA for a little while, have been really unwell the last few days with a flu like bug. I had the jab so am pretty fed up about it, there's only been two confirmed cases of CV in our area so don't think it's that. My temp was 39.6 last night 😮 can't remember the last time it was that high.

Am trying to be frugal but had a few big spends this month already, £160 for a 3 night stay in an air bnb place close to my brothers wedding in July.

£86 on getting my heating fixed, have lived with it broken for 2 1/2 years 😬

Also spent £30 on seeds and stuff for the garden last week. In The Range their packets of seeds are 49p so have potted up sweet peas, marigolds, sunflowers and a few other summer bedding plants. For around £5 I have about 50 plants!! I also bought two Rose plants, one yellow one and one rambling scented one to go over the shed, both plants for £5. Love The Range!

I'm off work today and unless I start to feel a lot better very quickly imagine I'll be off most of the week 🙁

Wolfcub · 09/03/2020 09:56

Yikes Girlie, given the likely under reporting of mild cases do you think you should get tested? Hope you feel better soon.

My train is fully booked but half empty. The guard is not touching tickets for once to check them. Everyone is coughing and everyone else is looking at the cougher sideways. Very odd

OP posts:
Happierwithouthim · 09/03/2020 11:50

Girlie especially when working in healthcare might be best to get yourself checked out.

Your gardening purchases sound fabulous, I'm sure the garden will be a riot of colour. Ds picks up packs of seeds whenever we're shopping but we can't plant anything because we'll be moving again before they flower so I'm storing the packs for him, think will have to make a potting corner in the shed for him.

Just had a talk with our boss about plans for preventing coronavirus in the workplace here. So we'll eat alone for our mealtimes. I'm in the frontline meeting lots of subcontractors but will do it from a distance rather than in close proximity.

ememem84 · 09/03/2020 13:00

I’d get checked girlie.

I have an odd one today. My left eye is all watery. I look like I’ve been crying all day. Got some drops at chemist as apparently dry eyes can water up.

It’s odd that it’s only the one though. No pain. No gunk.

Can’t drive though as when it gets super watery I can’t see properly...all blurry.

Will see how I go with the drops and will go to dr if necessary. Opticians are not helpful. Can fit me in at the earliest in 3 weeks.
