Oo kitchen gadgets. I could do with a mini chopper. Do it, get your hair done.

Other than cleaner £24 and car tax nsd today.

Girliefriendlikespuppies · 27/02/2020 18:50

It's payday thank God!

Have just bought dd some modibody swim pants! She is bound to need them over the summer at some point, I got 10% off so they came to £28.80. Pricey but a one off buy and hopefully worth it!!

ememem84 · 27/02/2020 21:31

I’m tempted by a swim suit from
Batoko. So many prints!!

northender · 27/02/2020 23:40

Truly back down to earth again now after the holiday, not helped by a bit of jet lag & a full on week at work for both of us. Caved in to takeaway temptation tonight & got pizzas which were lovely. Back to meal planning now. No other spends.
Ds' tonsillitis is better but has caused a flare up of his CFS at a time when cricket training is building up & A levels aren't far away. I've effectively written off the next 4 months to get him through his exams & for once he is letting us help.
Payday here too, thank goodness.
sea lovely of you to delurk. You are of course right, it's a motmot who liked to sit on a branch by our verandah.
wolf good luck with writing the competencies
happier glad the move has gone ok, another step forward.
love well done on passing & completing your course, it must be a relief.
We've also got a diesel car (2010) & it just keeps on going.
I haven't had chance to read very far back so apologies if I've missed anything.

lifelongfrugaleer · 28/02/2020 05:58

Payday whoop whoop.

Food shop required here and meal plan. Probably later today or tomorrow.

Need to interview prep.

Oh no North. Sorry to hear about DS. Pleased he is letting you help.

Wolfcub · 28/02/2020 06:57

Payday thank god. Paid myself first. Then paid the credit card as I had to put diesel on it yesterday as there were only pennies in my account.

Will catch up on thread after work...spendy day yday...M&S foodhall nearest place for an emergency shop, good deals though got 6 items for stir fry for £6, 2 huge pizzas and 2 sides of mozerella sticks for £10, so £23 on food, £7 on a cactus for me for mothers day....
Bill day and credit card paid off, back to 0 balance.
Today will be a NSD and i am determined LSD over weekend. Off to primark for new jeans but have a birthday voucher for those. Just primark jeans for work cos they are the best value. Have a good day all....

ememem84 · 28/02/2020 07:13

Morning all. It’s my day off today. Start of my weekend as I only work Monday- thurs now. Yippee!!!

Still in bed here. Both dc are asleep still yay!

Going for nsd today. Swimming has been paid for in advance. Nothing else to pay for.

Happierwithouthim · 28/02/2020 09:54

It was my birthday yesterday H neither wished me a happy birthday nor bought a card with dc for me for it. Dd made me a card with a page from her copy, she shouldn't have to be doing stuff like that. I'll rise above it though.

north sorry to hear ds has had a relapse at this critical time in his schooling, hopefully he can manage it well.

I just couldn't face making lunch today, I've run out of the adrenaline that kept me going through the move and have now succumbed to sore throat, stuffed head etc. Made dc their Friday morning pancakes and their lunches and just said f it to the rest!

Wolfcub · 28/02/2020 12:06

Happy birthday Happier WineH is a knob, we had this in year one, I made some very firm points about parental responsibility to help dc and how it matters to them

North sorry ds is struggling again but so pleased he's letting you help

I have been on a spending spree. I'm not confessing how much. But I have spent my mn voucher winnings

I'm going to have a really good chuck out of things that are past their best too. I'm so fed up of wearing 13 year old faded bobbly out of shape shit

OP posts:
Happierwithouthim · 28/02/2020 12:57

Just tell us what you bought wolf that'd be nicer!!

Last year he gave me a rose in front of the two dc for Valentines which left me in the awkward position of not being able to fling it back in his face, this year we were battling out maintenance by text so no rose came, I was going to be telling him it was entirely inappropriate.

His birthday present this year will be very much child led but they will be giving him a card with my encouragement, rise above it!!

Wolfcub · 28/02/2020 13:38

Three bras, no different to current ones but in much better condition. They will go on holiday and then into the work rotation. Two packs of knickers although not my usual brand and they look huge! A dress from seasalt which will go on holiday and then be for work. A jumper and top from joules to replace some ratty stuff. The top is the leopard print one and I've been unable to get one anywhere in my size until today. Never worn leopard print before this may be a middle aged right of passage. Dior nail glow and a large l'occitane hand balm as my skin is dry as hell and the tester from my advent calendar worked really well.

Failed to find sunglasses that weren't obscenely expensive and a sun hat.

OP posts:
Happierwithouthim · 28/02/2020 14:35

Love l'occitane! My hands are very dry from the move and top of my right thumb has split so is horribly painful and stings when wet Sad

everything sounds lovely hope you really enjoy them

ememem84 · 28/02/2020 15:41

£7 coffees apple juice and a gingerbread man after swimming. And somehow £116 in waitrose. I did buy two new bowls. And a book for ds. But still....

Wolfcub · 28/02/2020 15:59

Lunch in John Lewis and then coffees in a local cafe with a friend

Happier I can definitely recommend the hand balm, I like l'occitane hand creams generally but this is much more effective. I have eczema so am sensitive to products and have extremely dry hands in winter particularly

OP posts:
Happierwithouthim · 28/02/2020 16:39

€7 on a toasted wrap, orangina and walkers baked
wolf I loved the old Atrixo, kind of waxy feel but don't find the creamier one any good

Lovemaltesers · 28/02/2020 20:02

Pay day and £1 on a bag of sweeties

SnugglySnerd · 28/02/2020 20:11

Pay day here too. Thank goodness!

Fearofawelshplanet · 28/02/2020 21:21

First Corona virus patient confirmed here... seriously thinking of a few extras just in case they start house lock downs...Confused i imagine everyone will get confirmation near them at some point...

Fearofawelshplanet · 28/02/2020 21:21

Sorry, not going to derail the thread...

ememem84 · 28/02/2020 21:27

@fearofawelshplanet it’s interesting re Coronavirus. My work sent an email today. They’ve issued everyone with tissues and hand gel.

We’ve been told to stay away from the office of we’ve travelled off island recently.

It’s scary. But I’m not scared if that makes sense.

Ivegotnothing · 28/02/2020 21:39

fear and em I’m not particularly worried, but got some extra bread and milk for the freezer today....just in case.
I work for a very large company, they were all over swine flu, but have oddly said nothing this time!
Pay day here too, but did all the paying and sorting and am hoping for a frugal March.
I have enjoyed catching up on everyone’s updates Smile

Girliefriendlikespuppies · 28/02/2020 22:24

Busy day here with work, dd stayed off school today but seems much better which is a relief!

Think I've managed a NSD.

Happier happy birthday for Ystd, your ex is an arse. Is there anyone else who could go card or present shopping with the kids for you or could they go on their own? I always went dd off with a tenner into Marks and Spencer's and card warehouse for a bday card and let her choose something for me from a young age.

Glad it's the wend 😊

Mrsmadevans · 28/02/2020 23:49

Am late posting today , My NDN rang me twice to go and get his hearing aids working for him, cleaning them nearly made me wretch & l have a very strong stomach believe me Envy
There has also been a terrible family row. Mum and my brother today
re Bob he thinks she shouldn't be spending so much time with Bob and said Mum wasn't very nice to my Dad before he died, just to be as nasty as possible. l said to Mum how would he know he never visited Dad ever not even on the day he died , or visits you now even. I have been trying to console Mum all evening. She is so upset . I don't know how my sister and brother can be so horrible . They are bullies Sad
I had an enforced NSD today mainly due to dealing with this fallout at least some good came of it Hmm
Hope everyone is ok , have a good sleep everyone Smile

lifelongfrugaleer · 29/02/2020 06:45

He's a knob happier.

Eugh mrs. Sorry to hear about the family fall out.

Cv19 in not worried though DD school was one on the news and y8 did a ski trip. I have too full cupboards anyway so won't stock up.

Our work are writing a contingent plan.

Well deserved spends wolf. Sounds like your price per wear is in profit if you keep stuff that long.
