Thought I'd make a new thread, I'll post on the old one and alert to its presence.

All are welcome, we are friendly folk.

Jackfruit is ever so easy wolf, it's available in tins or packets. I get mine from Sainsburys. Make sure it's young jackfruit. I've got mine in the SC, but that's just convenience. I've made a standard fajita seasoning mix. It goes like pulled pork when cooked and is a good alternative to meat.

Thanks Jam I may give that a go. We have veggie orzo bake for tea. Very nice. My mouth has a nice level of burn now although so go my fingers as I stupidly grabbed the oven shelf

Justanothermile · 08/10/2018 18:45

Ouch for the burn wolf. We love orzo pasta here. Smile

I've got one ebay bid on my musical instrument that I have built and renovated from parts. I'm quite excited about that as I put the reservation price as the price that the parts cost to me, and it has 7 days to go. I'm hoping to get a bit more for it really as I did a lot of work on it. Fingers crossed.

SummerDaize · 08/10/2018 19:36

Oh no! I just wrote and asked if he would like a shipping price as he is abroad and he says he didn't mean to place the bid at all. It was an accident. So should I cancel it or not? #ponders

WreckTangled · 08/10/2018 19:38

You might as well otherwise eBay will just do it. It's pretty hard to accidentally bid on something though Hmm

Fluffycloudland77 · 08/10/2018 20:14

Knobbers like that always spell trouble. Cancel the bid online if you think he's messer.

Dh puts everything buyer collect now.

Fluffycloudland77 · 08/10/2018 20:26

Theres a new receipt scanning app, HuYu. I cant get it to download on my phone so one of you will have to tell me if it's worth it.

ememem84 · 08/10/2018 20:37

Long day. Had to meet dh after he finished work and had a bimble around town. £20 body shop on a shower gel and an eyeshadow brush. With a voucher for my birthday.

Shower gel will be used not technically needed and their make up brushes are really good quality.

Went to dfriends house after work he hosted other dfriend and his girlfriend. We haven’t seen dfriend 2 since his ddad passed last week. So was nice to meet gf and catch up. Funeral next Tuesday.

Dfriend bought pizza. But dh and I snuck into Burger King on our way home. £11.98. Regretting it now though. Ate far too quickly.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 08/10/2018 21:37

Late check in, life is back to normal business now I'm back at work.

Have spent most of the evening sorting a moonpig card for a friend's 40th, it involved photographing old pics etc. Anyway it was a large card and cost £7 in the end and I'm going halves with a friend.

Dd saw the nurse practitioner who couldn't see anything obvious with dds ears so back to ent we go....

thistimenextsummer · 08/10/2018 21:47

Feeling a bit flat today. 'Knobbers' cheered me up.

Bornlazy · 08/10/2018 22:20

Nsd today as working. Had a very frustrating experience yesterday as I carried out a survey on My Survey that literally took me about four hours! I lost the will to live about 1/4 of the way through it but refused to give up as I’d already invested so much time in it 😫 Never again!! If it pays out it should be about £15 but what’s the betting it doesn’t pay...

AdoraBell · 08/10/2018 23:22

£5 ish on coffee out with DH. Grocery delivery tomorrow followed by check up at the vets for Houdini.

Wolfcub · 09/10/2018 04:36

Morning all. Happy frugal Tuesday

ememem84 · 09/10/2018 06:52

Morning.

Hoping for frugal day today. Nsd planned.

Work then gym then home.

Have done a personal budget based on how much I’m guessing needs To go into our joint account to cover everything re the new house.

Have allocated every penny out. Mostly to savings. So I’m really trying hard to build it all back up again.

Closed another savings account yesterday. Just don’t need it. Too confusing. So I checked to see which of my two have the highest (albeit minimal) interest, moved the money and closed.

Now just have my savings account, one for ds, and one for our joint savings fund for car insurance, rates, car service, etc.

Still in bed. Must get up.

lifelongfrugaleer · 09/10/2018 07:14

Spendy day as it's dd actual birthday.
£15 ear piercing, £xx tea, £xx Sainsbury's, £xx Aldi.

WreckTangled · 09/10/2018 07:23

Argh opened a new deodorant (Mitchum stick one) and it won't move up so I can't use it 😭😭😭 I bought it a few weeks ago at Sainsbury's (20 miles away) and don't have the receipt. I have no deodorant and no money in the budget to buy any Sad

thistimenextsummer · 09/10/2018 07:24

Morning! Feeling a bit brighter today. The kids have slept longer than 5am which helps! I'm having real issues switching off at night though. I've set up a lock on my phone to power down an hour before bed but think I may need to stop tv watching and start the wind down sooner as well.

Aiming for NSD!

lifelongfrugaleer · 09/10/2018 07:40

Ring michum wreck. Doesn't solve the immediate problem but should get you your money back.

SummerDaize · 09/10/2018 08:18

Ebay cancelled that bid on my sale item. I thought bids were binding once they were confirmed. Apparently not. Oh well.

mammynowanauntyIRL · 09/10/2018 08:25

Morning everyone, lots of wet wipes so for out and about freshening up wreck

I've applied for a 0% balance transfer credit card, I've been approved preliminarily. It would cover all of my credit cards but only for 7 months, wouldn't get it cleared in that timeframe unless house sells. I've got 3 one is already on 0% until Dec, I could use some of the booking.com refund and clear this in that timeframe, another is very low interest (€10 a month) and the last one is highest balance and €50 interest every month so I'm paying interest + €75 a month on that via standing order method wwyd fluffy

Wolfcub · 09/10/2018 08:34

Mammy what percentage of the high interest one would your booking.com refund clear?

ememem84 · 09/10/2018 09:42

I’d personally split some of the refund 60/20/20 mammy 60% on the highest interest card; and 20% on each of the others. Then continue to pay lowest balance off first and then minimal payments plus a bit more on the others until first one is gone. Then throw spare money at highest interest.

ChristmasSeacow · 09/10/2018 10:34

I’d chuck it at the high interest one Mammy, but I’m no expert. In reality i’d do whatever Fluffy says Grin

I’ve just left DD at nursery for the first time. She didn’t even notice I was going (although I said goodbye very obviously!) because they’d just brought out the water table and a load of water toys and she was straight in there! I hope there won’t be too many tears. She was supposed to be staying for lunch today but we’re having to leave at 11am to go to the GP again because I’m a little worried that her thumb may be infected - she sucks it and has a couple of spots from the HFM that have gone a bit nasty. I am generally quite laid back about illnesses and don’t bother the GP much but I am paranoid about infections spreading after having sepsis in Peru a few years ago... so off we go!

The Cleaner cancelled herself today after I told her we were a house of lurgy (she has a weak immune system) so we live in grot but have saved £50. I will spend it on a winter coat and other bits for DD.

I’m convinced it’s wednesday, somewhat disappointed it’s not...

SummerDaize · 09/10/2018 11:54

I've taken to sellotaping a sheet of paper to the back of the front door that lists the days of the week in sharpie, and I cross them off as the week goes through. It's the only way to make sure we end up at all the right activities on the right days. Yesterday I forgot to make ds's packed lunch.

If your dd is struggling with open sores it might work to use a dab of mouthwash as a disinfectant in places where she might suck. I get cold sores on my lips and mouthwash is great for keeping them sterile.

I'm sewing on cub badges and looking astonished at the mess in the house today. I have no idea how it gets to messy.
