Thought I'd make a new thread, I'll post on the old one and alert to its presence.

All are welcome, we are friendly folk.

YY to the highest interest card first. Do the so trick on the others so they are paid down faster.

Is it joint debt? Or just in your name?

Thatsnotmybookworm · 09/10/2018 12:05

I'm sure your DD will settle in smoothly @christmas; she sounds like she is well ahead for her age which will help; I couldn't believe her chat about happy and sad, I think that is very advanced isn't it?

Winter clothes are in the wardrobe, its a good thing too as I expect I will need them this week.
Need to order DS a Halloween costume today; I was of the frugal opinion that last years would do as it fits everywhere apart from being several inches short on the leg but DH has disagreed so I have bowed to his opinion (he rarely voices an opinion on such matters so I like to listen to it when he does Grin.)

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 09/10/2018 12:12

Have any of you ordered clothes from Shein? I've been looking and there are some nice coats and dresses that seem really reasonably priced.....

ememem84 · 09/10/2018 12:47

£67 in boots. Yikes.

I went in for eye cream, deodorant shampoo baby bath stuff and some foundation.

Foundation was on a threefa
Shampoo and contitioner were big points if I bought the naice stuff (so got lee Stafford and John Frieda)
I didn’t by deodorant as couldn’t be arsed to go downstairs
Picked up some baby bubbles (as I’m using them for baths too now!)
And then there was the eye cream. I wanted to try cliniques stuff. But it was £31 a pot. Lasts ages though. So can justify it that way. However. I paid £36 for a gift set containing my day and night moisturiser and said eye cream. So a frugal not frugal win...?

WreckTangled · 09/10/2018 13:19

Yes girlie quality is pretty poor (but cheap buy twice) but I like it for basics/work wear.

lifelongfrugaleer · 09/10/2018 14:08

£38 Sainsbury's. Feel much better for a step class. Head ache abating a bit.

lifelongfrugaleer · 09/10/2018 14:50

Fucking hate waiting for parcels. 230-330 is my slot. Right over school run.
Have done 4 loads of washing and a bit of a declutter today post gym.

mammynowanauntyIRL · 09/10/2018 15:17

Life hate it too, and when courier rings & asks can they drop at the local shop really boils my p*ss. This happened me yesterday & I said no drop it at address specified or to me at work. So he dropped it at home. Lazy git.

Didn't get approved for transfer, so I did new application this evening with only my half of mortgage & single status so will see what happens there.

Refund came - I transferred €150 to joint account as per original compo offer.
I've bought probiotics, magnesium with calcium €58.45 (personal acc)and multivitamins with probiotics and magnesium for dc €44.90 (joint account no promo code but free shipping. This place had all brands I wanted.

I'm anxious to keep money as safety net too.
Debt is in my name only life even our credit union loan for outdoor work is in my name only.

mammynowanauntyIRL · 09/10/2018 15:18

Bold fail Blush

lifelongfrugaleer · 09/10/2018 15:54

That's a shame Mammy. Totally see why you want some cash at your disposal too.

Can you transfer any more of your high interest into the lower interest card as an alternative

mammynowanauntyIRL · 09/10/2018 15:54

Single application went through & have submitted my documents for approval Grin

Justanothermile · 09/10/2018 16:39

I'd ask for certain on the S&B boards girlie, but I don't think they are very complimentary of the service etc at Shien. Might be worth a forum search at the very least.

Great news mammy.

I thought an EBay bid was binding too, shows what I know too.Smile

£70 fuel
£16 fruit and veg.

I've listed some of DS's old rugby technical training tops etc, so might get a bit for those, not sure though as not much is selling.

DS has sent me a text with this photo attached. And the words '£7.76 for all this, I am amazing at shopping'.Grin

Jam what rugby tops are you selling and what size ?

mammynowanauntyIRL · 09/10/2018 17:06

Love it jam he did well Grin

Justanothermile · 09/10/2018 17:08

About age 11/12 wolf, I think at least. It's the underneath stuff, Optimum brand and under armour. Plus a new skull cap. I'm vague re the size because the variety in size of boys is huge at that age and I've forgotten really how big or small they are, the labels aren't massively clear.

OP posts:
Wolfcub · 09/10/2018 17:18

Thanks Jam, the 11-12 is likely to be too small as he’s in xsm and youth sizes but I am interested in the scrum cap as I was just about to buy a new one - we seem to have lost ours. If you think you might have some 13-14 leg skins anywhere I’d happily buy those off you

Justanothermile · 09/10/2018 17:28

I've just listed as a bundle, nothing aged 13/14 sadly, he gave up at 15 but was really tiny and scrawny until he started elongating (still scrawny).

I'm very happy to post the skull cap free of charge if it doesn't sell. Happy to help frugal friends.Smile

OP posts:
Fluffycloudland77 · 09/10/2018 17:54

Does he get a discount in the co-op Jam? they're more expensive than waitrose.

Mammy I'd pay the big debt off, 50 a month in interest is really high. 600 a year just to service a debt.

NSD.

Terrible, awful day at work. Glad to be home.

Cagliostro · 09/10/2018 18:33

Sorry about the crap day fluff

Great haul there jam that’s rather adorable that he messaged you so proudly! Frugaleering being passed on to the next generation there.

We’ve moved the living room round today while the Caglets had a friend round. Table was rather cramped but we’ve swapped it with the kallax corner and it feels so much more spacious in here now!

Justanothermile · 09/10/2018 18:59

Thanks cagSmile

All rugby stuff sold I am afraid wolf, probably undersold as it was snapped up but I had forgotten we even had it anyway so it's an extra £30 for a cupboard find.

Sorry about the shite day fluffy. I'm just glad there is some fresh food there and not just frozen kebabs.Grin

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 09/10/2018 19:14

Have gone for it on shein and bought some dresses to try on plus a coat for dd, am not holding my breath and if they're crap they'll go back! Four dresses and one coat came to £73.

No other spends today, did a bit of gardening this evening. Can't believe how quickly the evenings are drawing in now 😕

Fluffycloudland77 · 09/10/2018 19:42

If they could all club together to buy basics like frozen veg, oven chips, etc and decant into Ziploc bags they might save a bit.

It's not the kind of thing you do at 18 though.

ememem84 · 09/10/2018 19:58

Home. Dh and ds picked me up from the gym. I was worked hard.

Have completed a form for new accounts, had dinner. Played with ds (chasing lions again raaaaaaa!) have sorted outfit for tomorrow (red hush skirt black top leopard flatties) bag is ready. Ds is in bed.

Pinteresting now. Loft storage. #geek

Wolfcub · 09/10/2018 19:59

Well done on the sale Jam, that’s a good bit of frugaleering

lifelongfrugaleer · 09/10/2018 19:59

£15 ear piercing for dd, £26 pizza hut for tea.
