Thought I'd make a new thread, I'll post on the old one and alert to its presence.

All are welcome, we are friendly folk.

Wolf and mammy I completely agree. I'm a children's therapist, currently working in a PRU, but have also worked in mainstream. The world of adults can be confusing enough as it is for children so the more honest we can be (in age appropriate terms) the better sense they can make of it. Optimism for a better, albeit different, future is more realistic than false hope that the current situation will miraculously change when they have seen no evidence of this to date.

I'm up early enjoying a peaceful cup of tea! This is happening more regularly with the darker mornings as my little ones aren't up at the crack of dawn.

I'm collecting a big Tesco shop later and need petrol

lifelongfrugaleer · 02/10/2018 07:00

He's trying to be a twat from afar Mammy because you hold the power now.
He's being pathetic and trying to scare you. Your DC will understand from you that mummy means this.

mammynowanauntyIRL · 02/10/2018 07:26

Thanks thistimenextsummer for confirming this for me, sadly I think even if he was to hear it from a professional he would disagree as he is always right Angry he would twist it that he knows his children better than them or something to that effect.

I'll play along for the moment until I get things in writing and then I'll focus on the next step.

Yes lifelong sadly he's trying to control the last bit of the story because he can't control me anymore.

Today is our children's allowance day and oddly mine hasn't appeared in my account yet.

I'm going to register for Single Person Child Carer Credit today, it's a tax credit that only one parent can receive usually the mother.

Wolfcub · 02/10/2018 08:13

@Mammy no it would not have saved him from the distress and problems it would only have delayed them and at the cost of his trust for me. Whilst he may rail against me at the moment he knows I don’t lie and that he can ask me anything about the situation even if it’s difficult.

Delaying would certainly have made my life easier in this period but it would not have been the right choice (for us, I’m not judging anyone else’s circumstances or choices)

Are you using LED light bulbs in the house? it knocks more off the electric bill than people think and are very cheap now.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 02/10/2018 08:43

mammy you're right he is just trying to control the situation.

I've put the heating on, pleased I made it to Oct! I've got a friend coming over and I don't want her to think the house is cold.

Should be a Nsd.

I put £25 on dds school dinner account Ystd, that should do her a while as she is taking a pack lunch most days now.

ememem84 · 02/10/2018 08:45

Morning all. I’m languishing (is that the right word...? I think it is) in bed. Day off today as it’s my birthday. Work give us an additional day providing birthday falls on a week day. Yippee!!

Dh and ds have gone. Dm and df are pottering about.

I’m in bed with catface (curtains open) cup of tea in hand. Ive been thoroughly spoiled.

Ds bought me a bottle of gin (he obviously hadn’t heard the sober October memo....) dh bought me a daylight alarm clock and a chunky vouchers for clothes shopping. I have around £200 to spend across various shops. Yay!

Dparents bought me another voucher, some jo Malone goodies and a snuggly jumper. (And some knickers - Dm has to buy knickers for birthdays and Christmas. No idea why...)

Have ordered donuts for work tomorrow. It’ll set me back around £40 instead of the £20 I had put aside. But. New local company. They look fabulous (all sorts of flavours for autumn (apple cinnamon, pumpkin pie, pecan, maple bacon...) and are glazed American style donuts with toppings. And the lady can do a batch of 25 for me and deliver them to work tomorrow. Yay.

Today I’ve got a morning to myself then picking Ds up from Nursery at 1 to go to his 12 month Check. Then to the lawyers at 4 with dh. So we can sign loan paperwork, do the due diligence stuff and then chat about how we move the purchase forwards.

Busy but relaxing day.

mammy I’m so pleased for you that this next step has happened. Xx

lonely sorry to hear about the sad news. Take care of you and dh.

life again massive congrats! Amazing achievement.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 02/10/2018 08:46

wreck i keep meaning to say have you got an electric oil burner heater? I have a small one and it's brilliant for chilly evenings and much cheaper than storage heaters to run. I got mine from argos and love it.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 02/10/2018 08:48

Happy Birthday em 🎀🎁🎂🎈

lifelongfrugaleer · 02/10/2018 09:07

Happy birthday em. You share with ds

lifelongfrugaleer · 02/10/2018 09:11

Took the day off to do party tea and stuff but DS wants to go to pizza express.
Birthday person chooses tea in this house. Going to the gym instead.

ememem84 · 02/10/2018 10:30

Happy birthday to ds life

Birthday person chooses tea here too. I’ve asked Dm for a lasagne. She makes the best ones. With both pork and beef mince (or sometimes veal mince and beef). And garlic bread and salad. Mmmmmm.

Having a self care morning. Long hot shower, Washed hair, moisturised everywhere, foot cream, face cream nice make up. Earl grey. Lots of water.

Fluffycloudland77 · 02/10/2018 10:32

Are there any 2 for 1 offers on for Pizza Express?.

Em Did he want the gin for himself? Grin dm bought ddad a book of love poems one year, he got her aftershave the next.

Happy birthday to you both.

Wilko are refunding me. Unfortunately they are refunding for fruit snap and share bars.

ememem84 · 02/10/2018 10:47

Haha no fluffy it’s “girly” gin as in its pink. Dh doesn’t go for pink drinks.

Dgrandma has been super kind and has sent me £10. Instructions are to buy something lovely with it. Have popped it into my purse and have put £10 from my account to my savings. I’ll buy some lovely flowers for the new house once we get in.

WreckTangled · 02/10/2018 11:25

Happy birthday em!! 🎈

Girlie no, we did years ago do you think it's worth getting one? I suppose it's cheaper than putting a storage heater on?

Nsd today. Have just had my retinopathy screening. Eye sight slowly going back to normal. Have been wearing sunglasses in the office all morning 😎 Grin

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 02/10/2018 11:39

Wreck def cheaper than the storage heaters, once they heat up they cost about the same as having a light on I think. I only have a small one and it really does warm up quickly, I think they are about £40 but well worth it imo.

kitkat6 · 02/10/2018 11:41

fluffy thank you I have downloaded those that i don't have

Do you know if we can upload ocado receipts

em happy birthday hope you have a lovely relaxing day

Fluffycloudland77 · 02/10/2018 11:44

Some offers on checkout smart and click snap are for Ocado.

Wolfcub · 02/10/2018 11:59

Happy birthday Em 🎂
Happy birthday Life’s ds 🎂

lifelongfrugaleer · 02/10/2018 12:01

fluff do you have a tastecard? They are on there I think

lifelongfrugaleer · 02/10/2018 12:02

Sometimes they do on site vouchers too

DS wants pizza express tonight

Fluffycloudland77 · 02/10/2018 12:12

I meant for you Life Blush for your ds's birthday meal.

lifelongfrugaleer · 02/10/2018 12:15

Ah sorry fluff. Thought you were lashing the cash.
Yes I've got my tastecard.
Never knowingly voucher less here.

ememem84 · 02/10/2018 12:22

Depending on how old ds is life (I suspect not old enough for this) get him to register for pizza express and they send a voucher for a free prosecco on a birthday.

Justanothermile · 02/10/2018 12:30

I'm not sure the fluffster is the sort to lash the cashGrinGrin
