Whoever said that they can do all manner of rice type dishes but not cook rice - this is me!!

I’m financially up theoretically today as I’ve had two bids on some EBay listings. £30.

Otherwise a veg box purchase for £6 from the feed shop.

Still to menu plan.

ememem84 · 10/09/2018 16:03

Bid on one of my eBay items. £1.75. A week to go.

Fluffycloudland77 · 10/09/2018 16:03

Do you have mains gas on the island? electric u/f heating is more expensive.

Quite That is a genius tip.

£4.49. Two beers, plums ,bananas and ham from aldi. Didn't buy the cocoa powder I needed, the packs non recyclable.

My contraceptive implant comes out at 5pm. Hopefully my skin will clear up now.

ememem84 · 10/09/2018 16:05

We do. But not every property has it.

Sounds awful that I’m not bothered by the expense of underfloor heating. I’ll deal with that later. I’m just baffled as to why no one mentioned it...?!

Fluffycloudland77 · 10/09/2018 16:15

Maybe they are used to it and it's not a thing. Or it's broken.

It is nicer than radiators. We stayed in a house for a our honeymoon with it, when we went back it had all been taken out and horrible electric rads fitted. It looked awful.

lifelongfrugaleer · 10/09/2018 16:51

£17.49 book people. Thanks Christmas thread

thistimenextsummer · 10/09/2018 18:37

QuitelovesStrictly · 10/09/2018 18:47

Very oddly Fluffy
It was gardening equipment,I ordered 2 they sent 1 .
Luckily weight of item was on the website and parcel so they sent me a second one and then a third Grin
Underfloor heating em Catface will be in heaven !

LonelyOversharer · 10/09/2018 18:55

It is a bit odd they didn't mention the heating em and why all the radiators? I'd prepare for one or the other of the systems to be broken!

£5 in the co-op tonight on milk and snacks. I need to sort out my eating. I'm getting too tubby for my jeans.

Tea (spag bol) was on the table and half eaten when I got in! They started without me and dd1!

Lots of work to get done tonight, so I'd better get off my bum and get on with it...sigh.

Wrongwayup · 10/09/2018 18:58

miss one whole day and a new thread and 4 pages appear- been off walking for 2 days . done 29 miles. exhausted but frugal. stayed at a pub last night. DP paid. we only managed one course for dinner - falling asleep by 8pm. had to set an alarm to take the dog out for a wee at 11pm.

need to buy haylage and fence posts tomorrow - haylage rocketing in price due to hot weather. fence posts needed as trying to reinforce all fencing as they all escaped last winter - only next door where nothing is grazing but from there they can potentially get on the road.

ememem84 · 10/09/2018 20:15

That’s what I thought lonely

I’ve emailed the agent and pondered why we weren’t made aware. I don’t care which it is just need clarity.

quite oh she’ll love it.

Ds has been super cuddly today.

He’s also ripped the ear off of “bluey” his blue bunny. Fil gave him bluey. I noticed after his afternoon nap. He looked proud that he’d done it...poor bluey. Dm is administering surgery.

I’m sleeping in with him this evening. Dh hath decreed that all the germies sleep in the same room. So me ds and probably cat face (even though she’s not germ ridden) will be sharing a room. And in catfaces case a bed.

Gym bag prepped. I probably shouldn’t be going but it’s too late to cancel my training session as I’d have to pay for it. I’ve asked trainer to go easy.

Handbag packed and outfit picked.

SnugglySnerd · 10/09/2018 20:33

Still struggling to keep up! I'm reading but not posting. Sorry.

Lovemaltesers · 10/09/2018 20:34

Hope your DD is ok wreck

Underfloor sounds amazing em if it works

lonely you do need to ensure you get some time off or you will burn out with all the evening work too Thanks

NSD. DP and I car shared our DC drop off/commute to work/DC pick up today and everyone got to where they were supposed to be on time. We can only logistically do it two days a week, but saves petrol. Also means DP has to leave work on time Wink

I'm not entirely sure I am adjusting to my new job Confused I'm a bit concerned that the feeling might be mutual with my boss too.

lifelongfrugaleer · 10/09/2018 21:01

Love, it's only been a short time. What makes you think that?

Seems a bit strange it wasn't on the particulars em.

Lovemaltesers · 10/09/2018 21:11

life i just don't think I really fit in. And I don't think I have ever felt quite this awkward before with meeting new people, I'm guessing sitting in a more closed office rather than an open plan office which is what I'm used to isn't helping either. I never realised that when I'm at work I actually like company before Blush

lifelongfrugaleer · 10/09/2018 21:30

Oh no love. That's not great this early on. Is there a hot desk policy so you could move around?

Been viewing secondary schools tonight. 1 down 1 to go

Fluffycloudland77 · 10/09/2018 21:45

Hsbc are offering £75 switch incentive, £500 pay in.

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 10/09/2018 21:54

Hi all
Busy day at work and annoyingly I left my lunch at home so £4 on lunch, then £5 in co-op on fruit and veg.

lifelongfrugaleer · 11/09/2018 05:50

Of to Sheffield today. Lunch provided.

Need to buy stamps

Wolfcub · 11/09/2018 06:08

Off to London today. First train cancelled, makes me wonder why I bother getting up at 4am!
Will need to buy coffee and possibly lunch or dinner. Very much not feeling Tuesday right now.
Love is there scope to suggest a more open way of working even if it’s doors open between offices or some sort of collaborative working time?

Lovemaltesers · 11/09/2018 06:26

I need to persevere with the new job. But my boss is actively trying to discourage lots of visitors to our shared office, whereas I like meeting people who come to visit us. I definitely try to leave the door open.

Anyway I need to put my big girl pants on and find a way to like it. On paper the job is perfect.

MischiefManager · 11/09/2018 06:35

Morning all,
Not had chance to catch up properly, will have a read at lunch time if I get chance. Seem to be permanently exhausted at the moment and feeling a bit overwhelmed juggling house, parenting and work stuff. Feel guilty all the time because I’m doing none of those things very well. I’m prioritising children obviously but by the time I get them both in bed I have no energy left to do all the other things that need doing. Been awake since 4.30 when the big one wokexwanting a drink and I didn’t manage to get back to sleep. Small one woke up for the day at 5.45. Early but a vast improvement on a week ago!

Anyway yesterday was NSD so that’s something.

Aim for today is to get the rest of my work week organised.

thistimenextsummer · 11/09/2018 06:47

We had a 5.45am wake up call too 😩 (also 2am but dh managed to settle quickly). I daydream about using this time productively but instead I'm drinking my second cup of tea and watching CBeebies.

Right I'm going to make myself go and do 3 productive things - a phone call I know I can leave a voicemail for, pack up the car with the charity shop bags and tidy up the bathroom from last night's bath-tornado!

ememem84 · 11/09/2018 06:59

Woken up at 6 being bashed on the face by a stuffed whale.

Ds woke up at 3 coughing and crying so I turned upside down in bed and slept the other way. His cots at the end of the bed. Big mistake. I got a whale bashing as a wake up. #gentle

Offf to work today. Can’t stay home again. Sore throat is almost gone the snotty face is here. Hoorah.

Fluffycloudland77 · 11/09/2018 07:14

Mischief Make sure you take a cheap multi vit-mineral tablet. It's easy to run low at times of stress. Also the placebo effect helps too.

Well I had better figure this menstrual cup out as my period has started 14 hours after implant removal. Great. Just marvellous. Better start looking at iron tablets then.
