Hi Coral welcome and I hope things ease up for you soon.

Cag I am feeling very grateful now than I am not bf my bitey DD! She only bites when she’s overtired but still Confused. How long do you plan to bf for? Maybe it depends on the biting!

I was knackered last night and fell asleep on the sofa. I was out most of the day with dd at a friends house (a little birthday party for her toddler - it was nice but I didn’t really know many people so a bit hard work, iyswim). Then DCs were a bit trying after school. Was an NSD though.

I’ve got my mojo back today. Took dd to a new music class (run by a frustrated opera singer, apparently Grin) which she really enjoyed, £5. I got into the spirit of it and wound the bobbin up with maximum vibrato myself Wink. And a coffee with a friend first, £3. Then home and I made Jamie Oliver’s pizza dough while dd napped. Next time Jamie says ‘stick a big wodge of flour on your kitchen surface, make a well in the centre and then pour 650ml of liquid into it’ please remind me to stuff that for a lark and USE A BOWL. Other than that it worked fine once I’d cleaned the floor and the DCs seem happy enough eating it! I made them very thin indeed, so they are properly crispy, might need to tone that down for poor dd next time as it’s hard going with only 8 teeth! I’ve frozen loads of dough portions do hoping they defrost okay.

Dd isn’t napping well at the moment as she’s going from 2 to 1 naps and the net result is even less sleep, it’s completely all over the place. The witching hour before bed is thus hard going. I’ve got a Wispa Gold to get me through tonight.

Fluffycloudland77 · 11/09/2018 17:45

Hi Coral, more the merrier. Controlling the food bill is a major saving.

£3.40 off topcashback, one of those bonus offers & I used two bonus offers today on my work stuff and on the wilko paint. So £6.50 should be due around December.

Where are LLL and Scandi?.

Menstrual cup a success. Best bit is I don't have to change it again till tomorrow morning.

Fluffycloudland77 · 11/09/2018 17:48

Dough freezes really well. I've got suet pastry to freeze tonight. Just need a label.

I once made dh a pizza using shortcrust pastry by mistake. I still rate myself for getting onto the pizza stone in once piece. Never twigged till he ate it.

QuitelovesStrictly · 11/09/2018 18:03

Cheesy scone dough makes a nice base for pizza type things and freezes well.
Nigella does "Supper Onion Pie" in one of her books which is cheap and moreish.
I add extra cheese to the dough Smile
Keeps for days and is really quick to warm up and serve with salad if you are pushed for time .
I really like Nigellas description of it as the food she wants when it is cold and she is tired Smile

Justanothermile · 11/09/2018 18:35

Hi coral. I've made this for tea tonight and it's yummy and cheap. The whole website is excellent, I know Jack Monroe isn't everyone's cup of tea but she sure does cook well very frugally!

https://cookingonabootstrap.com/2015/01/30/roasted-carrot-chickpea-and-garlic-soup-26p-vegan/

£12 M&S.
£5 stretching and conditioning class, lord I needed it.

Boiler fixed, yeah the new one, the electrician hadn't wired it correctly and so the hot water had basically been on full for days. And yeah fluffy, the complaint will be in tomorrow morning.Grin

Justanothermile · 11/09/2018 18:36

If it's the same music franchise seacow, I've wound the bobbin up with gusto myself on occasionGrin

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 11/09/2018 18:38

Welcome coral

Sounds like a nice day seacow We made some bread dough tonight and I thought the same re mess, it's incredible how far flour can spread 😰 I like making it and it was dds idea so worth the mess - just 😉, it's currently proving in the kitchen.

Ouch cag I remember bfing and teeth 😲

My hairs driving me nuts, it's very thick and wavy, I was hoping to wait till my bday to get it cut but it's so heavy and long it's going to have to be sorted before then! I want to get this kerritin treatment for my bday, it's pricey but your hair looks amazing afterwards.

QuitelovesStrictly · 11/09/2018 18:41

That soup looks lovely Just not sure how Ive missed it .
Have you tried John Burton Race Cauliflower soup ?
Its also garlicky but I dont use the truffle oil in the interests of frugality Wink

Justanothermile · 11/09/2018 18:44

No, but funny you should mention cauliflower as I picked up a reduced one for 30p in M&S today.

I’m obsessed with roast cauliflower at present.

And chickpeas. I can eat chickpeas from the tin.

Roast chickpeas make a filling and healthy and very frugal snack.

This is not the most interesting post I have ever written.......😂

QuitelovesStrictly · 11/09/2018 18:49

I beg to differ !
I could talk about food all day
Mmmm roast chickpeas .

LoveCoral · 11/09/2018 19:33

Thank you very much for the Welcomes.

Just that soup looks amazing, I'll be making it tomorrow as today's shop has ended with a serious carrot excess.

Marinaded chicken pieces to be frozen tonight and split the Morrison's Street Meat box up into portions for the freezer too.

WreckTangled · 11/09/2018 19:41

That link isn't working for me will try again later as we love soup here.

LSD needed leeks and strawberries. Also needed carrots but forgot that so will have to try and get tomorrow. Sold a big children's book for £5 so used that to pay for the food and as it was Tesco the dc got free fruit.

Dd had a spelling screening yesterday so they know which spellings to give them this year. She got 144 out of 145 Grin she's so annoyed she got one wrong!

SummerDaize · 11/09/2018 19:43

OMG wreck that's brilliant. I have no idea how they have the stamina to plough through 145 spelling words in one test.

Cagliostro · 11/09/2018 19:45

Aaah gotta love wind the bobbin up. We also do a dinosaur version my mum taught me.
There’s a dinosaur
There’s a dinosaur
Look, look
Roar roar roar
There’s another one
There’s another one
Look, look,
Roar roar roar
There’s one on the ceiling
There’s one on the floor
There’s one at the window
There’s one at the door
Clap your hands together
1 2 3
Dinosaur dinosaur
DON’T EAT ME!!!

Seacow planning to let her self wean TBH. Fed DS till his 2nd birthday. However this plan is indeed being tested by the biting! I bought shields today and also some dentinox to try in case she’s in pain.

We ended up at the city museum today after the science centre, it was great. Also walked past the cathedral and I of course had to pop into the shop to see some stained glass products Wink

Cagliostro · 11/09/2018 19:50

Wow wreck that is awesome! Well done DD! I would have loved a big spelling test like that. What are they going to do for her as she got such a high score? One year I ended up getting different homework like “write a newspaper article about...” instead of spellings as they ran out of words to give me :o #nerd

Welcome coral :)

Going to the mill tomorrow which I’m excited about. Oh oh oh also! That bodyworlds exhibit thing emailed my friend back and they do a schools visit rate so we are going to arrange a trip! Wooooooo! Mentioned it to the Caglets and they were like EUUWWWWWW but when I mentioned lots of their friends want to go they agreed to give it a try.

WreckTangled · 11/09/2018 19:54

She's been given y6 spellings this week but she knows them all. I'm pretty sure there are still more she can learn though so I'll see where she's at at the end of term

ememem84 · 11/09/2018 19:57

Gym done.

Walked home.

Now sitting and getting caught ready for bake off.

Surveyor has been authorised. Yay. So hopefully soon we’ll have a date for survey. Underfloor heating is in kitchen only. So at least we know.

Got home and ds was in the bath. We did bubble clapping, bath tsunamis and splashies. Fun to come home to.

Fluffycloudland77 · 11/09/2018 20:03

Coral Do you live near any of these Lidls? www.lidl.co.uk/en/Too-Good-To-Waste-15447.htm If so they do boxes of fruit/veg 5kg for £1.50.

Ok you might get the odd soggy cherry tomato but I chop/freeze the day I buy it and so far have been happy with them.

wreck Obviously inherited it from your side of the family.

WreckTangled · 11/09/2018 20:05

Definitely. Dh couldn't spell the one she got wrong 🙄 🤦🏽‍♀️

TinkysWinky · 11/09/2018 20:34

Gosh i am freezing today!

NSD today, but yesterday spent £120 in Tesco (however £20 bottle of JD reduced from £32 for DB for xmas, and came across a big lego set for Xmas for DS on the reduced bit randomly down from 25 to £14, so bought that to tuck away). Still v spendy though for what I came home with. Back to lidl next week!
£1.75 back via shopmium and £4 back from greenjinn. Good tip on the desperados fluffy although havent had since was a student lol!
£110 to plumber in the end

Feeling a bit stressed today at work so just had a bath and might head in for an early night #self care

Lovemaltesers · 11/09/2018 21:16

Welcome coral, lots of good suggestions here

Glad you are having a good time away cag apart from the biting

NSD

DP didn't get home until gone 7.30pm. Felt bad for him as DD2 decided about 5 minutes before he got home that she was too tired to wait up for him. DP is exhausted at the moment doing his two jobs. We are definitely on the count down to half term when he gets officially goes to his new job and the old job can do one

Lovemaltesers · 11/09/2018 21:17

Wow your daughter sounds amazing with the spelling wreck Star

Wolfcub · 11/09/2018 21:33

I’m having my first alcoholic beverage in like 2 years

LonelyOversharer · 11/09/2018 22:14

My poor dd3 cannot spell! Bless her, she got about 4 right this week (y6). She was taught phonically (is this the right term bad mum ?) so special would be speshal. Makes sense to her.

wreck your dd is a star Star how lovely to just be able to do something hard!

Ate the frog tonight and filled in the 15(ffs) page "survey" from the solicitor. Scanned it + 3 proofs of id and emailed it back (2 weeks late...). Now I have to read and sign my work contract before bed.

My head was buzzing so took the dogs for a walk, but my big dog took off and ran for about 1/2 mile away from me. Totally safe path, but not very relaxing for me chasing him.

Spent £3.50 on a lunch deal as I forgot my dinner. Humph.

cag Grin
