Justanothermile · 09/09/2018 18:35

They do indeed spread like lies...

fluffyGrin

Thank you for the congratulations. I'm chuffed. Knackered, but chuffed.

I like orange Toolips too.

Did you get the knitting done quite?

ChristmasSeacow · 09/09/2018 18:35

Where do you buy your bulbs from Quite?

Well done Jam! Fair enough to be thrilled 🏅 Grin

Thanks for the thread Wolf

Cag would you think of putting your prices up to say £12 per time? Demand exceeding supply and all that!

Right, before lunch I’d made 9 double (2-child) portions of cheese sauce and roughly the same again of tomato veg sauce (bit like the Jamie’s 7 veg one). And 6-7 double bolognaise portions.

We’ve also just had a roast loin of pork with roast potatoes, creamed leeks, carrots and hm cider gravy. We ate early with the dcs but DS wouldn’t have eaten it so he had pasta 😬. Blackberry clafoutis and ice cream for pudding, he joined in then alright! Pic shows what dd thought of the clafoutis Grin . I’ve been cooking pretty much all day. I am now a bit tired and my feet hurt (bloody plantar fasciitis is flaring up at the mo).

My washing machine stopped about 5 mins into its cycle earlier. I’ve just restarted it but am nervous that it’s not happy, eek. Fingers crossed!

Wolf thanks for new thread - great title.

Had a productive afternoon and made soup (no surprises there) beef stroganoff, raspberry buns and cookies that someone posted on another thread (might have been Quite) and they are delicious. I am cooking rice in the pressure cooker fingers crossed it turns out.

Weather here has been rubbish sun comes out for about ten minutes then its peeing with rain. It's very difficult to dry washing as I don't have a tumble dryer. Might look at a spin dryer myself.

Jam well done - you have ever right to be proud.

Lovemaltesers · 09/09/2018 18:44

Thanks for the new thread.

We're just catching up on last nights strictly. The DDs are very excited!

Lovemaltesers · 09/09/2018 18:44

Well done jam

Cagliostro · 09/09/2018 18:44

Awwww seacow 😍

Well done jam, awesome!

I would consider price increase at some point yes. I want to see how I do though first (and also have recently quoted that to anyone asking, so couldn’t put it up just yet). I’m quite nervous about getting back into it. The baby is very distracting and I still wonder if I also delivered my brain when she was born 😳🤦‍♀️ So I’ll see how I go.

I cut my thumb when Lino printing too em so there’s no way I’d trust DS just yet 😳 he could (and frequently does) trip over thin air. Actually I might do a thing where you use that cheap craft foam stuff stuck to thick cardboard to make a stamp, and do that with fabric paint.

We had ham egg and waffles to use up some stuff before we go (only a few days but don’t want to leave too much in the fridge). Also chopped up an entire head of celery and two red onions, and put in bags in the freezer for when I need a handful for pasta sauces etc. Reaching dizzying new heights of home organisation here...

ChristmasSeacow · 09/09/2018 18:45

Ooh what’s the cookie recipe Born?

LonelyOversharer · 09/09/2018 18:49

seacow she's such a big girl now! Love her fluffy curly hair (full of pudding no doubt). Put your feet up now.

My ds has decided that yorkies are back on the tea time ok list. It makes his sausages and brocolli look a bit more like a meal. I long for the day when he a)sits with us, and b)just tucks in.

jam superb job! Well done Star buy something for you with your very hard earned winnings.

ememem84 · 09/09/2018 18:52

Thanks wolf

I had a nap this afternoon. Then super kind neighbour gave ds a baby drum kit, a noisy horsey, a driving toy and a train. So kind. (Some of them don’t have batteries...even kinder)

We’ve done playing in the garden, had a garden snack had an indoors play (ds crawled under the dining table and got stuck - in fairness we trapped him....!) had dinner, had a bath (I showed ds how to clap with bath bubbles on his hands - loved it!!!) he swallowed a lot of bubbles (but don’t worry - organis bubbles so probably ok!)

He’s now sat on ddad. Having a cuddle. He’s just given ddad the most loveliest cuddly cuddle and a loving look, then ripped out a massive burp. Right in dads face. My son is all class! Haha.

ememem84 · 09/09/2018 18:53

sea so cute!!!!

Xxx

Justanothermile · 09/09/2018 18:54

born I cooked my rice using the pressure cooker function yesterday and it was perfect.

Love the photo seacow. PF is a shitty injury.

north meant to mention, well done for the call up for your DS! And yes, this growing up lark is tough. You seem to have got it right though, they have to party sometimes. He's a sensible sort with a good solid set of mates.

Thanks all. Knew you lot would be cool. Star

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 09/09/2018 19:00

Congratulations jam

Lunch tomorrow is going to be leftover roast as em would say le yum!
Ive got fruit , cheese and cashews for snacks-lots of exercise this week.
Going to chill out with a bath and then more knitting.

lifelongfrugaleer · 09/09/2018 19:13

Well done jam

WreckTangled · 09/09/2018 19:21

Thanks wolf.

We're home a knackered. Ds is going to pretend he took the bear he may or may not draw the bear. He's only five so only has to do a few lines but it needs to be in tomorrow and he's currently in bed asleep (we've been home half an hour but he's so tired).

Anyway I'm going to make him some overnight oats and will probably go to bed myself. My body was not made for all day walking.

Bornlazy · 09/09/2018 19:22

Jam rice was good. I had gotten into the habit of buying microwave rice so am hoping to save some money cooking it this way.

Sea it’s worthwhile doing all that cooking when someone enjoys it as much as your dd 😀 cookie recipe I substituted some of the flour for cocoa powder and used white chocolate chips.

Cagliostro · 09/09/2018 19:29

Is he settling in ok wreck after his nerves the first day? I may have missed something as I am so behind on the threads

WreckTangled · 09/09/2018 19:53

Sort of cag he's still really lacking confidence and saying he can't do the work when I think he's actually doing really well. However first week back and he's got reading, spellings and the bloody bear. It's just too much. He's spouting facts about the great fire of London so is obviously taking it all in which must mean he's going to be fine I reckon.

Wolfcub · 09/09/2018 20:07

I’m pleased to hear it cooks rice well. I make amazing risotto, paella and jambalaya and a mean rice pudding but I cannot cook plain rice

SummerDaize · 09/09/2018 20:07

Our orchestra thing went okay. No actual instruments this week but we went and chatted and came home intact. Phew!

Lovely hair Christmas. Smile

Fluffycloudland77 · 09/09/2018 20:12

I think we've all done the microwave rice thing. My dm can cook rice perfectly, no measuring's etc she just washes and boils and it comes out perfect every time.

The only explanation is witchcraft imo.

Cats bought a baby rat home. It's in a dishcloth lined plastic box on the patio, hopefully recovering. I haven't got the guts to euthanise it.
