There's a one bedroom flat in our nearest small town up for £235k Hmm ridiculous.

CremeEggThief · 24/03/2018 21:17

NSD.

Glad you're feeling a little better, Love.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 24/03/2018 21:53

Thats crazy wreck Shock

Just booked two nights in a tiny village in Dorset in May half term via Air b&b, £110, it sounds lovely they have chickens and a dog so dd is happy!!

I looked at some youth hostels and if you want your own room its £80 a night minimum, for a hotel or b&b it would be similar so £55 a night was the cheapest way I could do it.

Had a look on the Wickes website and they have exactly what I am looking for in the sale!! Just need to work out how much I need and see if what my handy man chap quotes me for laying it!!

Fluffycloudland77 · 24/03/2018 22:21

Don’t forget the cashback.

ememem84 · 24/03/2018 22:39

wreck that’s the price of them here on average.... average price of a three bed house (nothin g special either just a standard three bed semi) is £570k. Eep.

Home from evening out. Dinner with dh and one cocktail at the hendo. Lame. But they were all completely shitfaced merry And I was exhausted.

£11.35 2x g&t for me and dh pre dinner
£53 dinner at our fave Indian place. Popadums, lamb dopiaza, rice and a peshwari naan and a mango dessert. Mmmm. Dh has some crazy spicy but delicious lamb dish. And cauliflower dish. Plus a beer and a wine.

£8.50 taxis home.

SnugglySnerd · 25/03/2018 06:49

Busy couple of days. Hopefully can catch up with the thread today.

Loveabaconsandwich · 25/03/2018 07:04

Just waiting to hear back from nhs 111. Think i can leave the house if DP takes me, but my throat is so excruciating I can’t wait to see the GP tomorrow.

SnugglySnerd · 25/03/2018 07:12

That sounds nasty Love. Hope you get seen and feel better see soon.

SunnyLikeThursday · 25/03/2018 07:13

Good luck Love I'm glad you're going to see someone.

mammymammyIRL · 25/03/2018 07:37

Going to work my way back the thread now Grin

Girlie we've got semi solid in one room and it's disappointing as scratched, worn and dirty looking in places, suppose it should be sanded and varnished. The other rooms are laminate or tiles no carpet here.
My favourite is walnut and least favourite cherry. Furlongs I think are the manufacturers of our flooring Furlong Flooring Stockists or purchase online

Fluffy my mother did this too with rubber gloves

Lonely we need pics of finished garden

Used spin dryer loads today & I've clothes on the clothesline Grin

Anyone know if dfs furniture is any good, coveting a larder press & sideboard for wherever we move to. 0% finance for 3 years. Dreams for now but it's keeping me going

Love glad to hear you're getting seen today

Em did you enjoy attending hen do or did you just want to go home?

Fluffy I love my spin dryer, it's one of the things I hope to keep in the separation shakedown.

Does anyone know if dfs furniture is any good? I'm eyeing up a larder press & sideboard for 'my new house' 0% interest for 3 years.

Wreck that's crazy money

Mimosa that's super annoying about soft play being closed & welcome to the thread

Moan thanks for post on pressure king, my sister currently has one of my slow cookers on loan to see about buying one, going to advise her to get pressure king instead. My cousin swears by her stovetop one, my mother had one I never recall it being used Hmm

Aubergine welcome

Fluffy I used to be a DD and hadn't got mahoosive boobs Grin

Lifelong go you losing weight & going down bra sizes, I find my boobs look bigger when I've lost weight as the belly has shrunk so they stick out more Grin
I might be in wrong calorie club too, have to check in again in 2 weeks when I've got my steps sorted, could be getting an extra 100 a day Grin

Fluffycloudland77 · 25/03/2018 07:45

Love Ask the dr for liquid antibiotics. More expensive but I’ve been there and I couldn’t swallow tablets. You can buy effervescent co coadamol for the pain. You will need tm off work.

Mammy Spin dryers are indeed fabby. Our Dfs stuff was ok.

mammymammyIRL · 25/03/2018 07:51

Fluffy ok not fabulous?

Fluffycloudland77 · 25/03/2018 08:01

Yes it was ok. By the time you’ve divorced what you want will be on eBay.

lifelongfrugaleer · 25/03/2018 08:03

Right today I'm getting my shit together for my health and fitness otherwise I'm wasting my £5 a month.
Footy side line. Bake for work and DS.
Need to plan Easter as I've lost childcare on one day.

Did you all remember to put your clocks forward?

Nsd planned today

WreckTangled · 25/03/2018 08:16

Hope you get an appointment soon love

I'm still in bed. Dh is at work. The dc want to go out today so suppose we should not sure what though.

mammymammyIRL · 25/03/2018 08:24

Fluffy I'll need furniture before then!
M&S have 20% off home at the moment if anyone's in the market. Also have a beautiful larder press Grin No fitted kitchen in cottage, if I bought it, I'm debating larder press and sideboard and just under sink presses, not a fitted kitchen! Mad or not?

LonelyOversharer · 25/03/2018 08:47

mammy not silly. I don't do fitted kitchens. Not sure why, but they are too posh for me. Saying that in my last house (where money was no object) I spent 4k on 3 beautiful
Keen Pine dressers, a belfast sink unit, 7' table and settle. Those were the days! I think keen pine went bust, but their stuff was superb. Our only dfs purchase, the fucking awful sofa speaks for itself.

Am up, about to take dd1 to her DofE thing. Have to swing by my mums for waterproof trousers, she's sure they'll kit check. There is not a cloud in the sky! I have a lotof work to do today (my proper work) a grand prix to watch, and a wall to finish. Slow cook lamb for tea (shoulder, on offer in Morrisons).

mammymammyIRL · 25/03/2018 09:20

I guess it's a bit of rebellion or putting my stamp on place. It's a blank canvas so I can do what I want without anyone else's influence

ememem84 · 25/03/2018 09:27

mammy both! Haha! It was nice to see people and the bride looked like she’d had a good time and my cocktail was delicious. Lemon berry - lemons blackberries with gin and mint and a bit of fizz.

In bed at present. Dh got up earlier sorted ds and just brought him in. “He wants to sit with Mummy” I asked whether dh just wanted to relax in peace and watch tv? And why dh’s quiet time was more important that mine? (Because I tried to nap yesterday but ended up with ds and dh lounged about and watched tv...) ds is in the living room “singing” and dh has huffed about having to put subtitles on his Netflix show 😂

Quiet day here. I may head to the gym in a bit. My gym outfit is on the dresser. Staring at me. (Incidentally M&S have some great gym gear at present. Super cute patterns and it’s really hard wearing).

Today should be nsd. Jobs include emptying bins, sorting through paperwork (yesterday I corralled all paperwork and put it in one pile for sorting/dealing with) and Vacxuming floors.

Wolfcub · 25/03/2018 09:38

Morning all. Rubbish night’s sleep I’d hoped for a lie in as ds’s sport is cancelled today but no dice.

Mammy I love the idea of an unfitted kitchen. Marks and Spencer’s did some pieces a few years ago that I thought were really nice. No experience of dfs here.
Need to check a receipt from yesterday as I’m pretty sure I was overcharged. Not really anything I can do about it as it would cost me more parking in the city to reclaim than the overcharge itself but it’s annoying especially as the place said they’d give a discount for ds Angry
After school clubs booked for next term. I am trying to persuade ds to do summer camp which is ridiculously cheap run by the LA but he’s not having it. He wants to do private day camp again at twice the price and which for the last two years he’s bitched and moaned about.

Wolfcub · 25/03/2018 09:39

Em well done on calling out dh.

ememem84 · 25/03/2018 09:48

wolf I just smiled at him and asked the question. Thing is he was only saying yesterday that he doesn’t get enough time alone with ds. Go figure.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 25/03/2018 09:59

I would keep an eye out for second hand furniture mammy ime good quality new furniture is v expensive but good quality second hand furniture is a bargain!! Do you have fb? Marketplace on fb often has lots of stuff.

I was thinking last night about how well I did with dds bedroom 😂 all the furniture is either donated (the bed, chest of drawers, desk and bookcase) or bought v cheaply second hand. The main cost was paint and time I suppose, it looks lovely and I don't think you could tell it was done on a tight budget.

Fluffycloudland77 · 25/03/2018 10:09

We are painting. Dh says the paint is good. Wilko best, looks a bit like elephants breath from f&b.

lifelongfrugaleer · 25/03/2018 10:12

Is there an auction house near you mammy? Some gems there sometimes
