sunny best of luck with exhibition - is it local to you or must you travel for it?
You reminded me I paid for a soft cover photobook and I think it needed to be done by a certain date in Oct - must check it out, could be a project for tonight!

Taytocrisps · 10/10/2017 15:47

It's budget day in Ireland but I haven't seen or heard much coverage yet. RTE says something about USC rate changes. And a big chunk of money is to be allocated to housing which doesn't come as any surprise, as there's a major problem with homelessness in Dublin.

ememem84 · 10/10/2017 15:51

Ds has wicked trapped wind I think. Sigh. It’s just taken me 40 to get a fart and a burp out of him. Never thought I’d be cheering on a fart! Haha!

mammymammyIRL · 10/10/2017 16:08

tayto I haven't taken any notice of budget at all today, will look at Irish times analysis of it tomorrow. They normally do a good feature of how it affects different incomed families

WreckTangled · 10/10/2017 16:11

I bought some Thai chicken in Lidl and noodles but I don't have any sauce. Not sure what to do. I have some Thai curry paste but no coconut milk...

Loveabaconsandwich · 10/10/2017 16:14

mammy when I was last in a M&S store that sell clothes, they had some lovely jumpers. Now I just need a 20% off event!

Ha! I did rather hopefully stock the childminder up with nappies yesterday

DD2 was a nightmare on the school run. Finally got home 20 minutes later than usual

Fluffycloudland77 · 10/10/2017 16:15

Sunny Do you have to go & talk to people about it?. I'd be a bag of nerves.

Our neighbour who is a total bell end has put his house on the market, couldn't be more pleased.

I'm hoping it sells quickly & he fucks off.

ememem84 · 10/10/2017 16:20

Do any of you remember my noisy upstairs neighbour? She’s been given 2 months notice to get out! Hooray!!!! I anticipate the noise will get worse until they leave but they’re leaving! Woooohooook

WreckTangled · 10/10/2017 16:24

Woo hoo em!

I'm so cold but it's going to be 19 at the weekend so no way am I putting the heating on

Loveabaconsandwich · 10/10/2017 16:25

I love how you just say it how it is fluffy Grin

Great news em , hopefully you’ll get better neighbours which will help when you try to sell again

Fluffycloudland77 · 10/10/2017 16:27

It's the day for twatty neighbours to fuck off by the looks of it.

ememem84 · 10/10/2017 16:28

Hoorah. 10 Oct shall be forever knows as twats fuck off day.

Loveabaconsandwich · 10/10/2017 16:39

Result! Thanks for the advice. Emailed Tesco and they rang back. They are going to send me a £5 gift card and we still get to eat our finest sticky toffee pudding tonight. Yum 😋

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 10/10/2017 16:41

Brilliant news on the neighours fucking off Em Grin

Thanks for new fred Snuggly are you in Brum? We are driving up this wend to see one of my best friends, not been up to see her for ages so really looking forward to it.

Christmas it was the new Christopher Robin film, very good but sad as well, the real Christopher Robin had a shit time of it really. Thats annoying re the relatives, hope you give your dh a prod when you see him Wink

Mammy I guess only you know when enough is enough, you do need to ask yourself what do you gain from the relationship though...

LSD £3 on lunch as forgot mine, 35p on paracetamol as AF making herself known.

Might pop into Lidls when dd is at her drama group later....

Going to see the little dog tomos am crossing everything that she is as perfect as she seems on paper!!

WreckTangled · 10/10/2017 16:44

Made dinner way too spicy! I like it but dh won't be able to eat it Blush

LonelyOversharer · 10/10/2017 17:50

Thanks snuggly for sorting the thread.

I had my new crown fitted today, it feels very odd. I'll get used to it. Went for a hilly bike ride today with a customer, twas windy but nice. Almost got punted off by a man reversing a van. I'm afraid I stopped and told him off Blush

Nsd I think. My shredder arrived. Mucho fun.

Well done em ds putting on weight so beautifully is all down to you and your clever body. Magic isn't it.

Apple jelly is so easy mammy just chop up and boil in water until all smushy, then drip through a jelly bag. For each pint of juice (do not squeeze the bag, the jelly will be cloudy) add a pound of sugar (I use a bit less depending on what I've got), and boil. Get a rolling boil going, don't let it boil over as it's sticky hell to clean up. 10-20 mins or so, put a wee splash onto a cold plate. It should wrinkle up when you poke it as it cools. When it wrinkles it's done, pot up into clean sterilised jars (I cook mine). Done.

Found lamb mince so having that tonight (cooked down with pearl barley and sweet potatoes) it's better than Macdonalds, which was my other idea.

mammymammyIRL · 10/10/2017 18:02

Lonely I have a shredder, newspaper & a block maker thingy but I'm time poor for making them. Ideally they need soaking for a few days.

What do you use Apple jelly for? A dessert? Just skin & cores?

I discovered this morning that I never put meat into fridge last night, kitchen wasn't over warm & it seemed ok Hmm

Forgot about a meeting tonight & was planning on making stuffing & roasting a turkey crown for tomorrow's dinner - will put it in slow cooker instead i guess, it'll make lots of juice for gravy that way so bonus I guess Grin

Snuggly my cuz will be fascinated - we're meeting a fb friend who I know about 9 years & have never met before when we're over!

Bacon not enabling but i would imagine the 20% applies to U.K. Too. I'm debating making purchases. They'll last a hell of a lot longer than primark clothes & aren't that much more expensive HmmConfused

ChristmasSeacow · 10/10/2017 18:02

I did that with my Sunday night curry Wreck. It was still good but it slowed me down a lot!

Em I think I must have been cheering on DD's wind efforts a bit much because DS has started shouting 'ooh, big burp /fart!' whenever the occasion calls. Hope he doesn't do it at school HmmGrin

We've had a quiet day here as it wasn't a great night. No top-up shops (hurrah!) but I ordered DD some tights to go with various outfits we've been given.

I still need to order a dishwasher but the chap said it will be 2-3 weeks for the Miele I wanted. I can't quite decide whether to wait or not. Other brands that do a few with stainless steel finish are AEG and Zanussi (also one each of Siemens,Smeg and Hotpoint). Any thoughts on those brands?

I have a friend staying Saturday night and into Sunday. We had planned to go for a picnic on Sunday with DS as he loves them, and might still if I can think of a way to sex it up for a visitor. Apart from soup, any ideas for an autumn /winter picnic? I was wondering about hm pasties or similar but thought that if i wrap them in foil to keep warm the pastry may go a bit sweaty.

WreckTangled · 10/10/2017 18:06

It's going to be warm Sunday seacow you could have a summery picnic!

mammymammyIRL · 10/10/2017 19:03

Seacow flask of hot chocolate would be really nice Smile

Pinwheel pizza slices?

lifelongfrugaleer · 10/10/2017 19:13

Hello. Found you. £34 Morrison's but some to go back.
Dd has a virus. Just got to wait it out.

I gave her £100 to spend in Smyth's toys. Took ages as she was looking all around. She spent £85 and that was pushing it. Pokémon stuff mostly

Taytocrisps · 10/10/2017 19:16

I checked out the Budget calculator on the Irish Times website. Looks like we'll have an extra €10 a week due to the budget changes. No Child Benefit increase.

Taytocrisps · 10/10/2017 19:23

Very dramatic events in Catalonia. Earlier it looked like the Catalonian president was going to declare independence!
