SnugglySnerd · 11/10/2017 20:12

The Dr Brown's bottles are brilliant for reducing air.

You look great also!

DD2 has earache and has cried for the last two hours. She won’t take calpol and won’t even take it in milk. she just threw up when we tried to make her have it from the syringe Sad Warm cloth held against the ear seems to be working though and she has just gone back to bed.

NHS online suggests a trip to the docs if it doesn’t clear up in 2-3 days. But if she is this upset, I should take her tomorrow? Never really had much earache issues here before

mammymammyIRL · 11/10/2017 20:26

Just posting & running again gotta put dc to bed.

I won a box of 6 donuts 🍩 at launch of a new type in supermarket local to us at work Grin

Loveabaconsandwich · 11/10/2017 20:28

meadow yes definitely keep up the good teeth care in pregnancy. It does bad things to your gums

WreckTangled · 11/10/2017 20:28

Earache is the worst. Has she got a temperature?

mammymammyIRL · 11/10/2017 20:30

On the plus side meadow it gives your body a chance to absorb extra calcium & makes your hair glossy Smile

Loveabaconsandwich · 11/10/2017 20:31

She doesn’t wreck but will check again later. Weird thing is she has eaten the best she has for days now that her constipation is being resolved. Think I may go to bed now in anticipation of getting up in a few hours!

WreckTangled · 11/10/2017 20:34

I think, as you're not a dr and you can't look, it's best to get it checked. A nurse practitioner would be a good one to see if your surgery had one.

ememem84 · 11/10/2017 20:51

Can’t remember the name of the place laksa sorry. However. iPhone is a clever thing. It tells me that the picture was taken at Florence - Porta Rossa.

We stayed near the basilica de Santa Maria novella. Lovely square to wander through especially at night time.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 11/10/2017 21:54

Meadow she is a Shih Tzu, this lady specialises in rescuing them apparently a lot are bought over from America and used for breeding then dumped Sad

Oh no Love poor dd, def get it checked sounds like an ear infection. Dd had loads of them and quite often wouldn't get a temp.

100yearsdotcom · 12/10/2017 00:23

Thanks sunny! Flowers

ememem84 · 12/10/2017 05:33

Oh love def get dd seen by a dr. Earache is the worst. I can cope with most things but earache absolutely stops me in my tracks. Poor dd.

Ooh 5am again. Am awake feeding ds. Dh was up at about 1 feeding him. The infacol seems to have helped his wind issue. They came back to bed st around 2 and I heard Ds doing some wicked farts. 👶🏻💨

We’re going into town today. To work to say hello then to the registry office to register him. Then I may need to pop to boots for nappies. Or may do this tomorrow. Dh has taken the day off to give me a break. I’m planning on going to town on my own for a couple of hours and shopping with my birthday vouchers

WreckTangled · 12/10/2017 07:54

Going to a school in the middle of nowhere today, I don't mind as it's such a pretty drive there. Need to buy some lunch as have nothing that I fancy.

Loveabaconsandwich · 12/10/2017 07:54

Not sure if i’ve made the correct decision about DD2. She finally went to sleep at 9.30pm and slept until 6.30. She didn’t want to get up as tired but said her ear doesn’t hurt. So i’ve gone to work. So hard to know what to do as there is a limit to child sick days I can take and she appears ok. Off tomorrow so will take her to doctors if it hurts again and DP doesn’t have to collect her early today. I feel so guilty though...

WreckTangled · 12/10/2017 08:07

Love I would have done the same thing Smile

Loveabaconsandwich · 12/10/2017 08:15

Thanks wreck . Great news on the change of hours. Was this changing to working longer days and a day off?

I chased up my manager for my change of hours in writing yesterday. Which has led to a “we need to consider this a bit more...”

WreckTangled · 12/10/2017 08:27

Yes that's right. My old manager was not happy with the idea at all but my new manager said everyone is entitled to flexible working and she doesn't see why it should be a problem. I can't wait to just have a day to myself where I don't feel like I'm rushing around all day.

mammymammyIRL · 12/10/2017 08:32

bacon I've done exactly the same thing as you several times. It's just working mothers guilt unfortunately and you do have option of taking her to doc tomorrow if necessary.

DD got an astroturf burn on the Friday I went to Dublin, I didn't know about it until Sun morning, the following week I didn't check it early in the evening and when I did it appeared infected(too late for a trip to out of hours gp) I cleaned it up and put hydrogel and a bandage on it and checked it before I went to work in the morning. I spent all the next day at work looking at the various photos I had of it debating if I had made the right decision, or would it be worse that evening, google suggested mrsa was a risk too. It was fine she was fine, and it's healing well now

mammymammyIRL · 12/10/2017 08:34

wreck that's great news. Will it affect your childcare costs?

northender · 12/10/2017 08:34

love I would have done the same thing too, hope she is okay today.
lonely was there much flooding with you yesterday? We are in Lancashire & it was dreadful & considering how saturated the ground is already I'm sure there are going to be floods again this winter.
Em enjoy the time on your own

I had a pretty horrendous drive last night & finally arrived just after 11. I'm staying just outside Cambridge, so sunny's neck of the woods I think. Looking forward to the course now, I got results yesterday from the pre course work and got a "very good pass" so a positive start. I'm hoping, as well as learning how to teach & use the technique, that I will come away with a better idea of how to use it in practice. It doesn't fit with the patients in my current role which is why I see it as a way to earn some extra money. I work 3 days a week currently so easily have the capacity to fit in some more work hours now the dc are older. Private work could be more flexible, but if I could persuade some local commissioners to pay me for some NHS work, that might be a more reliable source of income. Hey ho, things to weigh up. It's strange, as the dc grow up, I think I've valued working part time even more but in a different way. They are not so physically dependent but emotionally it's good to be able to be free for a chat after school. But working part time is hard as I always feel I need more time in work than I have if that all makes sense!! I suppose it's the perpetual debate with no perfect answer, you just do what works best for you at the time & what you can afford to do.

Sorry for the long, rambling post, thinking out loud!

mammymammyIRL · 12/10/2017 08:41

I don't work flexitime or part time and have a fairly full on job - 7-7.15am to 5.30/6pm 5 days a week plus usually need to make a few calls on a Sat morn but avoid actually going in (this is unpaid but alternative is actually going to work and I want to avoid this Grin)

I try to give my weekends to dc but this isn't always possible with having a social life/weddings/other commitments. I've had a full on schedule past few weekends so looking forward to just being with my dc this weekend. Going to library and spending ds Smyths voucher and dd's duck race winnings in Smyths on lego, might look at Hallowe'en costumes also and do a little running together maybe on Saturday and hopefully parkrun finally this Sunday Hmm

north lovely musings there, I find this thread great for putting my thoughts in order. - thanks everyone.

north well done on your precourse results - Cambridge is a lovely city isn't it?

SnugglySnerd · 12/10/2017 10:10

DS slept last night! First time we've been woken up by the actual alarm clock for ages.

Have made meal plan/shopping list for supermarket trip later. The problem with having a freezer week this week is that we have now eaten most things so no emergency meals to fall back on.
