Life My Dubarrys are 5.5 . I take either a 5 or 5.5 in Clarks usually.

ememem84 · 28/08/2017 18:21

life the sizing is ok. I'm a 6.5/7. Bought a 6.5 and they were snug and difficult to get on at first. But they soften.

Laska5772 · 28/08/2017 18:26

I have the Dubarry Kildare boots ( gosh, aint they expensive nowadays?} Shock , as I much prefer a mid-calf boot.. ( and I am not a horse rider)

needastrongone · 28/08/2017 18:36

Did you see the survey out today that suggests the average spend per family of kitting out one DC with uniform for school is £175?!

drspouse · 28/08/2017 18:43

Found a recipe cost calculator. Turns out it's more expensive to make crumble topping than buy it...

premierfoodservice.co.uk/recipe-calculator/

Fluffycloudland77 · 28/08/2017 18:54

It doesn't surprise me at all. Crumble topping, dumpling mix & batter mix are so cheap now.

Vegan baking is good, obviously if it states soya milk but you use normal just put that in instead.

LonelyOversharer · 28/08/2017 19:17

Testing... Have installed the app on my new phone. It's very different!

SnugglySnerd · 28/08/2017 19:19

Evening all.

Em back when I was competing I found a pair of Ariats in a charity shop for £20. Best charity shop find ever!

Low spend day. Just a quick fruit to up shop.

Justwaiting for the babies to go to sleep. They aren't in their gro bags cos of the heat but keep getting their feet through the cot bars.

WreckTangled · 28/08/2017 19:25

Yes need it's true. I actually live on a country estate. My house has actual wings Wink

My mum is in hospital and so is my friends little boy. Both with severe infections and on IV abx. They're actually in the same hospital, in good spirits though

LonelyOversharer · 28/08/2017 19:28

That works. I have taken 3' off the hedge and its still taller than me.

I always use Sainsbos crumble mix. For me it's a lifes too short thing.

I think its been a nsd for me so far, there's still time! Casumo bust me before I could withdraw, so will have a day off and try the next one.

LonelyOversharer · 28/08/2017 19:32

wreck I hope everyone is ok. Flowers

Loveabaconsandwich · 28/08/2017 19:45

Wish all the best to your mum and friend wreck

I shall carry on buying pre-made crumble, happy that I am being frugal and not just a rubbish cook

Cagliostro · 28/08/2017 19:45

Oh no wreck that sounds stressful.

We have to make our own crumble topping as we use gluten free flour.

My cannelloni wasn't great as the pasta didn't cook as it was supposed to. Not even worth the injury! :o Angry

I hope they make a speedy recovery Wreck Flowers

lifelongfrugaleer · 28/08/2017 20:06

When I have some money and require New boots I will have a look.
How they recover soon wreck.
I'm ok need. Other events happened which made me say as pissed off as I am it's just work. Can't say on here but other events are some shit a friend is going through. Hope the space helps you as dh's head.

Hearing you loud and clear lonely.

Cag, nothing but water on the burn.

I make my own crumble mix as I refuse to buy some thing I can make myself in 2 minutes.

lifelongfrugaleer · 28/08/2017 20:07

£30 hot tub hire deposit for dd birthday
£45 Aldi and Iceland combined

SnugglySnerd · 28/08/2017 21:35

Hope they are both OK and get well soon, Wreck.

I love making crumble topping as I add extras like oats or flaked almonds. DD likes to help and it keeps her busy for 10 mins so I always make my own. Might go blackberrying again tomorrow actually.

ememem84 · 28/08/2017 21:41

Oh my god I'm roasting. Catface has decided to try and sleep on me. Ordinarily I'd like this but she's like a furry heat machine. I think we're due thunder. I sort of hope so as this should clear the air. It's stuffy as hell.

We had cheese and tomato on toast for tea. Mmm. I've drunk my body weight and then some in water. And we have all the windows open - not too much as don't want catface to escape.

Due date is one month today exactly. Eeek.

To do's:

Pack bag
Big food shop
Deep clean house as much as possible with catface around

Fluffycloudland77 · 28/08/2017 21:50

Conversely pastry is much cheaper to make than buy.

lifelongfrugaleer · 28/08/2017 22:01

YY fluffy and quite easy too.
Gosh em that's gone quick

mammymammyIRL · 28/08/2017 22:59

Claim to fame I did two weeks work experience in Dubarry factory when I was in school & they gifted me a pair of shoes of my choice when I finished I chose hobos platforms naturally Grin
I'm a little disappointed that a google image search hasn't thrown up a picture of them. Pre internet days BlushHmm

mammymammyIRL · 29/08/2017 06:31

First day back to early starts at work, colleague has been obliging while au pair is away. Alarm went off at 5.30, I'm still not out of bed Shock need to leave in fifteen minutes Smile

SunnyLikeThursday · 29/08/2017 06:44

In Norwich they call everyone "darling". When I was a student I lived for 10 months with a landlady who clearly loathed having to have a tenant. She called me "darling" all the time with a look of bland exasperation. It was a bit creepy tbh.

Sorry to hear about your mum Wreck and your friend's little boy. I hope they feel better really soon.

I'm enjoying going to the lab to do bits of crazy science. Champing at the bit to go again really. I went yesterday and it was a bank holiday so that door was locked. costs nothing Yay!

needastrongone · 29/08/2017 07:08

Oh Wrecked, I hope your mum and friend are okay. You'll have to send the butler round to check they are okay Wink

Life Yeah, perspective comes from strange places doesn't it. You're right, it's just work. Hope your friend is okay. Things are not as bad as a few months ago, just needed a touch of space that's all.

Should only be Bootcamp to pay for for me and DD today at £10.

I FULLY concur with the thinking that it's probably cheaper to buy baking type things. I've started doing more baking recently, the ingredients cost more than buying a packet of muffins for sure.

We watched Cape Fear last night, DS couldn't understand why I suggested this over Reservoir Dogs, based on violence. I had forgotten how bloody violent Cape Fear wad tbh, but Di Nero is amazing in it!!

lifelongfrugaleer · 29/08/2017 07:09

School shoe and trainer shopping today, joy.
Tired as stayed up to watch game of thrones. Omg.
Back to work tomorrow so better get prepped. DC going to grand parents for 3 days
