sunny I'm fairly sure the boots are indestructible. Catface has had a scratch at them but they're made to be worn. They look better now than they did when they were new. A bit scuffed etc. They're fully waterproof too. So that's all good.

I really rate them can you tell?! much much better than regular wellies. In winter I wear them all the time - walking to work, weekend walks, riding, etc. Have absolutely got my money's worth.

We appear to have bees. A nest of bees. Which is weird as we've never had them before. Windows have had to be closed. Sigh. I'm going to have to mention it to our building manager person. Just in case anyone else has them.

It's hot here today. Dh is desperate to go and sit on the beach. I'm not sure I'll cope with it. Eugh. Hate being such a killjoy. If it wasn't for the bees coming in I'd suggest he just goes on his own. But it's hot in the house!!!!

Have also just watched game of thrones. OMG is all I'm saying. And that I'm annoyed I have to wait until next year for the final series.

ememem84 · 28/08/2017 12:55

need I looked at ariats when I bought the dubarrys. But they didn't have the ones i wanted in stock in my size in our tack shop.

when I register if I register to compete next year I'm buying a pair of Ariats as my competition boots.

needastrongone · 28/08/2017 13:18

Oh Ariat competition boots, simply the best. Don't blame you.

I second you, Dubarry and Ariat are so worth the money, you won't buy another pair of boots (unless you want to).

Laska5772 · 28/08/2017 13:26

needastrongone · 28/08/2017 13:29

Some things are definitely worth the dosh! They look similar to mine Laska.

Loveabaconsandwich · 28/08/2017 14:05

We rarely venture out on bank holidays or weekends either. Today we were braved the crowds (all five other tables of people( and went out for breakfast. It goes back to the days of doing shift works as students. DP was still loafing around after uni and we would always go places during the week when it was quieter. Bit harder to do that now with a school age child!

Currently hiding inside as it is too hot outside- 26 degrees. DC will play in the paddling pool later and I expect we will inherit NDN DC, as I will pity his sad face watching my DC in the pool otherwise. My reward will be ice cream Halo

Laska5772 · 28/08/2017 14:09

Hmm....they are a disgrace though .. Thats how they areas just dragged off the shoe rack from last use! Blush . The great thing is they are so warm and hardwearing.. the soles of mine are hardly worn although I must have walked 100s of miles in them by now (and when i do bother to clean them they still look pretty darn good ).

They have been a brilliant investment..cost per wear though.. when they do finally wear out ill be buying more

drspouse · 28/08/2017 14:20

We've been to an NT place, DH and I have a joint membership, my DF is staying who has a life membership so he got DS in free and DD is under 5! Great run around place, but saving slightly undone by having cafe lunch.

drspouse · 28/08/2017 14:20

(Oh and get there early - unusually for us - no crowds!)

WreckTangled · 28/08/2017 14:51

It's 28 degrees here. We went swimming this morning in a pool that has outside and inside so that was lovely then lunch at Bill's.

New trainers for the dc £50 on sports direct.

£30 Tesco on a medium shop as I got so much last week I didn't need a full one.

ememem84 · 28/08/2017 16:11

Beach walk. Struggled to find something to wear today. Settled on s long skirt. Which then got soaked in the sea. Meh.

Lunch out today. I have been at my most super passive aggressive self. There was a massive queue so dh joined it while I found a table I know I know I text him the table number and what I wanted. All good so far. A lady came and sat near me. On the same table (big enough for about 4 people). And tilted the umbrella away from me and towards her so she was shaded. I said "sorry, can I help you?" To which she replied that she needed the shade (she must have been in her 60's). I moved umbrella back. Had to get up and stick out my preggo belly. To prove a point. She hmphed. Her husband came to join her with drinks and tilted umbrella back saying to me "you don't mind do you love?" I pointed out that yes I did in fact mind I was here first and I was suffering in the heat. And went to move it back again.

Helpfully, a friend of ours was wandering along quite by chance and I shouted at him "friend! So glad you've made it, we haven't seen you for ages...!" He came over sat down wanted to know where dh was, text him a food order for himself And said "you shouldn't be sat in the sun. Why are you" as he took umbrella out of table, scooted the stand around to behind me. he is a legend he then introduced himself to our new table "friends" asked how they knew me, why they thought it was ok for me to suffer in the heat when lady has a sun hat and told them to bugger off. double legend

I've also broken the unwritten rule of going to a cafe for the purpose of solely using their toilets and not buying anything. And used the disabled loo as was bursting.

Ha! Nice one. I also broke the purchase something to use the loo rule the other day! I figure when you're obviously pregnant you can get away with it. Plus it was a wetherspoons and surely buying a drink would only cause the problem to recur 😂😂

I'm attempting to make cannelloni today using various things up, need to make a bechamel though. Totally CBA but hopefully tomatoey cheesy carby goodness will cheer me up!

Brilliant em!

I bought some cloudy lemonade as a treat mmmm although just realised I didn't check to see if it was diet...

ememem84 · 28/08/2017 16:52

my spends today £2 on orange calippos.

Am now sat in dms garden. They are away but they have a garden. So we "borrow" it from time to time.

So nice! And shady.

needastrongone · 28/08/2017 17:06

Brilliant em!

I decided to do my shop today as the rest of the week is busy.

£63 in Sainsbury's. Really pleased as I used a £7 off voucher for spending £70, triple points and a pile of reduced meat. We will be having turkey breast instead of chicken this week but works just as well with the planned menu.

Which is-
Enchiladas (now with turkey)
Chilli and rice.
Frittata
Harissa mackerel and giant cous cous
Peruvian sweet potato soup, corn, peppers, chicken and quinoa.

I also bought enough stuff to do fruity flap jack instead of buying biscuits and a new toothbrush holder for £3 in the sale.

Weird, sometimes go to Sainsbury's and feel I've bought nothing.

DH gone to Scotland for the week, bit of a relief and his heads a bit messed up. Needed the space.

WreckTangled · 28/08/2017 17:11

My meal plan to last until Friday:

Tonight and tomorrow: sausages in rolls with potato salad, salad, coleslaw etc
Weds: pasta bolognese
Thurs: freezer food
Fri: pizza

Fluffycloudland77 · 28/08/2017 17:12

£3 bread rolls, pitta breads & a duster on a stick.

£30 petrol.

£6 in from matched betting, I'm slow as my money needs to come in from the bookies so I need a skrill account ASAP & £5 Amazon voucher from mobile expressions app.

I think older couple are used to getting their own way. Being called love would've tipped me over the edge. Dh calls me scrappy doo.

needastrongone · 28/08/2017 17:27

Don't live in Yorkshire then fluffy, love is used by pretty much everyone, all the time. Regardless of gender or ethnicity, everyone is 'love'Grin

Fluffycloudland77 · 28/08/2017 17:46

It's Duck around here. No idea why.

Dh does it now to wind me up.
