It's certainly put a smile on his face 😂

£27 made matched betting today. I nearly fucked up completely but luckily I ended up making £14 from a free bet.

Ploughing through a casino offer. So boring.

CremeEggThief · 27/08/2017 16:14

Well done, Meadow. You're doing brilliantly!

No-brainer on the house, Wreck. The location sounds great for you.

Sorry to hear that about your friend's father, Need.

Indeed the DSs are pals, Mammy. We don't see that much of each other, but they've known each other since birth. We mums have been friends for 20 years!

Travelling to Portsmouth from Durham today and sailing to France for a week in the morning. Smile

needastrongone · 27/08/2017 16:32

Oh have a fabulous time CremeWineSmile

lifelongfrugaleer · 27/08/2017 16:53

Boak Fluffy grim I still bloody love Subways though

Sorry to hear that Need Sad

Wreck the house sounds great, as someone who moved dd just for the final year of primary I would say go for it!! Being in the catchment for an outstanding secondary was one of my big reasons for the move, totally worth it.

Meadow am so pleased you are doing so well, you should be so proud of yourself Star

I have had another busy day at work and am trying to keep on top of house stuff as well. Washed all the bedding today to make the most of the sunshine, also need to mow the lawn, hoover, tidy kitchen and find something to eat!! Might be going out to the cinema in a bit as well to try and make the most of some child free time....

NSD so far

WreckTangled · 27/08/2017 17:15

Interesting girlie because I know your dd struggles socially and dd is really shy and anxious.

Cagliostro · 27/08/2017 17:22

Keep going Meadow

Need Thanks

Lonely how are you feeling now? Totally understand the overwhelm Thanks

Wreck I forget what your housing situation is? If it's council/housing association and you are being offered a swap type thing then I'd take it, those are rarer than hen's teeth round here!

Creme Wave as you go by onthe ferry! when you can see the lighthouse on the south of the island.. I am not far away. I used to live just outside Durham and DM &DF still live in Portsmouth in the house where I grew up ..so I know what that journey is like,

need you are being so unfair! I havent spent a single penny today (or encouraged anyone else to) Wink!

Hmm.. may have sunbathed too long.. the pot belly is looking a bit pink.. ! ( thats another good reason to get back on diet.. )

Just back from another lovely swim.... Dh making Gin and T.. will take it up the far end of the garden..

WreckTangled · 27/08/2017 17:47

Need sorry about your friends dad.

Creme sounds fabulous! Have a lovely time!

Meadow it's great to hear you're enjoying your new job Smile

After our walk we went to my parents and on another walk. The dc ate blackberries and hazelnuts that we found. Now home.

Cag it's HA. I've got a friend currently bidding on three beds round here and she said there's 7-20 bids on each one usually.

Fluffycloudland77 · 27/08/2017 17:49

Sorry to hear that Need, deaths always hard to bear. It doesn't matter how long you know it's near for, it always blindsides you.

I won £31.11 on the casino, so £58 tax free today.

SunnyLikeThursday · 27/08/2017 17:55

A neighbour has given me a clothes catalogue that I am properly tempted by, which is not a thing that has happened to me before. It's like upmarket hiking gear. I think it might be too upmarket though. The prices are eyewatering.

need sorry to hear about your friend's loss. hopefully a good friend like you will be able to help her in coming to terms with i when she is over the first shock

PinkGlitter17 · 27/08/2017 18:24

Hello, please can I join this thread? I've been reading a lot of the posts. I could do with being a lot more frugal. I'm currently living with STBXH and our 2 DCs, and am hoping to move out asap when a place comes up for rent (not often in this village, sigh). So I need to stop spending.
I did have a lovely day out yesterday and got the most beautiful vintage-style dress in a charity shop - the dress is a Sainsbo one and fits like a dream. Also bought some lovely homewares and a few toiletries and a new red lippy.
I'm actually good at being frugal, but I tend to spend money when I have some, and it just spirals. So it'll be good to get 'in the zone' with you ladies.
I spent £12-ish in the co-op this morning on nice breakfast things and a paper, and then £1 on lemons. Made 2 x lemon blueberry cakes using half-price fresh blueberries that I got last week, and I'll freeze one cake to have at some point. I'm chuffed, cos the recipe uses 2 eggs - I had 3 eggs, so I increased the ingredients to 1.5 x the recipe, and actually got two cakes from the ingredients for one-and-a-half, having remembered that when I make that cake in one loaf tin, it always overflows due to too much mixture. So I think that was quite a good frugal thing, and a good way of using up ingredients in a thrifty way. Also chopped up some marzipan that was open in my cupboard, and added the chunks to the mix, so the cakes are extra-yum (I may or may not have had three slices with two cups of tea when the cakes were freshly iced and still warm).

Cagliostro · 27/08/2017 18:32

Welcome pink cake sounds super yum!

Wreck in that case I'd go for it. Obviously see it first though. It sounds like DH is more against it than you, what does he plan to do when the kids are too old to share though?

I am super stressed today, haven't even sorted dinner yet. Got freezer crap left though so will do that. I am actually starting to not even want a takeaway (would normally be the choice on a day like this). That's so weird for me!

Laska5772 · 27/08/2017 18:37

Hmm... Freezer Crap Cag? Come round to ours!! (I'd say get a take away but then need would accuse me of enabling!.)

wreck quite honestly ( and especially if its a housing association house) i'd sa,y snap their arm off!

Welcome pink!

Cag he seems to think that some place will be 'offered' to us which is in X town which he would rather move to. I know it's the location. He's also worried about having to move the dc from their school.

SnugglySnerd · 27/08/2017 19:12

Just place marking before I try to catch up!

ememem84 · 27/08/2017 19:20
