Cagliostro movie came up on my sky store last night! Tell me cag would dd 6 & ds 2.5 enjoy?

lilacclery · 11/07/2016 06:58

Dh doesn't always get frugaleering he's doing a top up shop today & I did a small list as we spent almost €200 last tues & weekly budget is €140. He put toothpaste on it, two things wrong with that there's at least two weeks left in tube we're using as its not all squeezed out & then there's when I cut it open plus I bought one on offer weeks ago & it's sitting unopened in bathroom cabinet Envy

babsmam · 11/07/2016 07:04

Nsd planned today except for usual kids activities

Fluffycloudland77 · 11/07/2016 07:43

There's free Tate & lyle jam sugar on checkout smart, and £1 off jam sugar on quidco clicksnap. You can use the clicksnap one ten times.

Ememem84 · 11/07/2016 07:47

Nsd planned for today.

Lunch is packed. Gym bag is packed. And dinner is planned.

New washing machine arrives this afternoon! Yippee! Apparently the noisiest it gets is 66db. Which according to Google is like a loud conversation.

Can't wait.

We've used a rug doctor before they're really good.

Need to get the stuff from tesco today that we didn't get in lidl. Hoping it's no more than £25.

babsmam · 11/07/2016 08:52

Off I'm so stressed I could cry.
Ds has been on a bouncy pillow thing and bent all of his toes back. Another trip to another medical facility. Then again he was running round on it last night. Argh.
Got the week from hell this week.
Sorry just needed to rant.

Fluffycloudland77 · 11/07/2016 09:10

I wouldn't bother if he's running about on it. Young kids are all cartilage anyway in the foot till the early teens.

WreckTangled · 11/07/2016 09:36

Argh £38 in tesco. Ds managed to persuade me to buy him a toot toot fire engine Hmm might make muffins this afternoon.

Sierra259 · 11/07/2016 10:12

babs Flowers hope your week isn't as awful as you expect

£10 down the local shops but not expecting anything else - unless we buy our new shed today Confused Going to look this afternoon. Have a good, unspendy Monday everyone.

WreckTangled · 11/07/2016 11:05

I know you lot love boden so here is my village in the catalogue!

Just been swimming for first time in ages with ds2 we went for toddler session at 9.30 nothing different other than cheaper and some toys in baby pool! I was there at 9.15 and Lady in front me with child asked for adfadfult swim was £4 and ii asked for toddler session £2.45. I was surprised guy didn't tell her she could have it cheaper as she was in pool with her child.

Had lovely bbq yesterday with friends although ii wouldn't rate the jumbo sausages on co-op current £5 deal although kids liked them and appreciated the ice lollies (sausages were like chip shop ones which ds1 loves, perhaps ii am a sausage snob :) )

Last week term here, I have next week off work and dh a few days as he was too slow to book his leave despite nagging apparently all will be OK then shock horror all his team with kids wanted that week off - yep cheapest week to go away I had told him this 6million times anyway we will go to some theme parks across Midlands area where kids are still on term time so less busy - generally 10-3 can be busy with school trips but other than that am good from previous experience.

WreckTangled · 11/07/2016 17:01

£45 coat in fat face
£11.50 lunch in cafe for me and ds
£26 sainsburys
£15 charity shop on brand new shoes for dd, fat face tunic for me, toy car for Ds and a big florelli bag for me.

babsmam · 11/07/2016 17:10

£13.50 on pizza for tea. Frugal fail.
£2 cubs later, £2.95 for lunch. Double frugal fail.

Soft tissue damage in ds for RICE it

Sierra259 · 11/07/2016 17:21

Massive frugal fail here as we spent a small fortune on our shed Blush It was budgeted for out of savings though, and should last us for many years, so I can probably justify spending a bit extra for a good quality one?

CremeEggThief · 11/07/2016 17:22

Hope your day went okay in the end, Babs and DS heals up soon. I think you were right to treat yourselves to take away.

Great bargains there, Wreck. My day was even spendier than both of yours. £120.40 Primary and £20.77 Superdrug, all on my credit card and for holiday clothes and toiletries.
Cash spends: £7.80 bus ticket and £3.42 in Tesco, on salad and biscuits.

CremeEggThief · 11/07/2016 17:22

Primark.*

SpaceKablooie · 11/07/2016 17:39

lilac, the RugDoctor website says that you can use their machines to shampoo mattresses! I don't work for them, honest GrinGrin (I work for the NHS instead).

Ememem84 · 11/07/2016 17:46

Nsd Monday!! Yippee!

And my new washing machine arrived. It is glorious. It's quiet. Oh so quiet.

babsmam · 11/07/2016 18:11

Pizza was awful and more expensive than sainsburys Sad

Cagliostro · 11/07/2016 18:38

Ugh, disappointing pizza :(

DD and I made shepherds pie today which was really nice. Frozen onions and mixed veg so it was really easy as well. :)

Tomorrow's going to be horrendously spendy. Got my 3 regular prescriptions to pick up (don't have enough to get the prepayment certificate though) plus antibiotics as the Dr didn't like the sound of my wheezing/coughing. Feeling rather sorry for myself. Hmm

SnugglySnerd · 11/07/2016 19:24

NSD Monday here too! Did you get any Portuguese treats, Em?
Have headache but very excited to see that Only Connect is on tonight so going to do meal plan/shopping list, watch that then go to bed.

Ememem84 · 11/07/2016 19:34

snuggly yes!!! Portuguese honey cake. So. Delicious. Sticky. Treacly. Honeyey. Yummmmmmmmmmmm

And I got £25 for the sweepstake for having France.

OP posts:
Ursulatodd · 11/07/2016 19:39

Ummm...think I may have had the most spectacular fall from NSMonday grace in the history of frugaling Blush
£369 on emergency pest controller as we had a rat in the house Shock realised it is probably an 'accidental rat' bought in by a neighbour's cat who I caught sneaking in through the back door last week but we've decided to get our drains / under floors surveyed as a precaution.
£250 deposit for a new car. We need a 7-seater to accommodate the expanding brood, test drove one on Saturday and decided to go for it.
£6.49 on McDs for me and DD for tea (can't go near the kitchen until I know the trap has done its job).
And 65p on a packet of polos.

I will aim for 2 NSDs this week in penance!!

Whataboutwhathuh · 11/07/2016 19:46

Ordered a new strimmer as ours has died, it was a free one from someone so not too sore about it.

Yesterday I spent £36 in ikea on storage
£11 on dinner
£27 on flea treatments
£12 on a new notebook
£6 on flea tablets

Bloody expensive day.

Today I've paid for swimming lessons for the boys for September half term. £130 but that is the only activity they do and we live next to a canal. Water safety and enjoyment is a big deal.
