Hugs, Star - hope today is better for you.

Fluffy a kitten farm sounds much more cute and harmless than it is :( yes if we ever did get a kitten we would get a rescue. We wouldn't actually get a kitten though, as DH hates cats Angry. Not that we're really in the market for a pet anyway, not in this house. If we get a bigger house someday, we've promised the DCs we will get a pet then. Probably a gecko. :)

Oh no star that sounds awful. We are always here if you need anything. Pm if you want.

NSD yesterday.

Had a bad day at work. Got to face up to things today. Going to be having a few difficult conversations.

Went to bed at 7.30pm last night I was so exhausted. My IBS plays up when I am stressed so I slept until midnight then I was up and down to the toilet until three am (sorry tmi).

Hope today's going to be a better day.

Enjoy yours everyone!

I love an aquarium. There's one in st Malo. Am heading over at the weekend so might go. I think it has sharks.

Best one I've ever been to though was kelly tarltons in Auckland. Sharks, massive sting rays and penguins. So many penguins. I love penguins.

Accupuncture today. Need to send my doctors bills to insurance people. Must start that process at lunchtime.

Cag

It'll be a kitten farm kitten, I'd get a rescue if you want a kitten. There is no shortage of kittens in this world.

The deep is very good but it's a bit far from us too.
It's great to hear your DC coming out of their shells cag.
NSD planned today.

Ursuline, that is not a frugal fail. That is an essential. There is no way you can be expected to share your house with a rat.
NSD here Yay!
But everything seems to come out of bank at once. There was a lot more in there yesterday, now...not so much.
Still I have enough food in for a week so should be ok.
Sierra, where's the best place to buy a good shed. I need one and I want to get a greenhouse. But I need to keep saving up first.

Oh cool :) shame Hull is rather far! DD has been asking to go to the aquarium actually, last time she went it was her 2nd birthday :o

Hope DD2 is better soon Sierra - it's horrible when they're poorly and they aren't old enough to tell you, I was just the same checking on them through the night. Thanks

Spends:
£2.99 new magnet set in charity shop (new and sealed, bargain!)£
£13.60 bus (would've been less if we hadn't left tenner at home - but found the tenner earlier so not so bad)
£25 various foody spends for lunch etc. That is quite shocking, seeing it add up to so much.
£3.99 new game in charity shop, also sealed (that one comes out of my pocket money)

I'm not sure where the home educators live, but I noticed that the Deep aquarium in Hull (which is a great day out) are advertising some home ed dates.

And for everyone else, a ticket costs £13 (IIRC), but then you can use it as many times as you like for a year Smile.

Going to be a long night here I think. DC2 (7months) is running a temperature and is very unsettled Sad Still feels very warm after calpol but is finally asleep. Will check temp again at midnight and if it's still up will wake her for another dose. I just can't relax when they're unwell overnight this young, so probably won't get much sleep going in to check on her every half hour! Confused

Indeed it is! Time flies!

Oh dear I'm not sure if I'll manage not scratching if I get a tattoo. I was thinking today that I might ask for a tattoo as my birthday present (I'm 30 in December [cries]).

I've done sod all (not even any more paper shredding!) since we got in. Lovely morning at a free home ed group, then park with some home ed friends, we did have lunch out though as we then dropped DH off at work so we could get his keys as I don't know where mine are Blush. Then we did some home ed work outside in the sunshine. I'm feeling a lot better about the lack of garden now the DCs are older and can safely play out. There's a block of flats on our street with grass by it that nobody uses, and the DCs have also made a den in the bushes there. They even took a table and chairs from the bins Blush which I didn't realise until today! But at least despite our lack of garden they do get a lot more space now. It was lovely learning about insect anatomy while lazing on the grass in the sunshine (and even better when a tiny green grasshopper landed on my arm! So cute). :)

Oh, we did go in the pet shop today though as there's one just by DH's work. Sooo tempted to buy a kitten. Looked just like one I nearly took home when I was a teen (but he was poorly and was PTS). Or a bearded dragon, because they're awesome. Not so much the tarantulas though.

In other news we reckon we've lost a tenner :( DH had it ready when we all left this morning to get a family pass, but then once we'd left (and couldn't get back in due to aforementioned missing keys) he couldn't find it and I can't see it anywhere at home. Bugger.

Right I reeeeally need to hang washing up and spruce up the living room a bit. Arranged a playdate tomorrow with a home ed newbie - he and DS have really hit it off, which says a lot as both boys struggle with making friends. And his mum offered to explain the tax return process to me. :)

My tattoo is healing (again). I had it redone on Friday. To patch it up.

It is itchy as anything. And I'm not allowed to scratch it!!!!!

Dh can't quite believe we've spent no money today.

I'm hopefully going to do a lesson swap with another home ed friend who is also a swimming instructor! Not group lessons but just going in the pool with her, in exchange for me teaching her DD music. :)

But then DD also now wants to try basketball club. [headdesk] I'm glad she is getting the confidence to try all these new things but I have to start saying no now or I'll go bankrupt :o

Agree about the swimming. We went every weekend with my parents but were never taught IYSWIM. It's about the only thing on my childhood I wish my DP's had done differently. They spent a fortune on dance lessons for us, which I kind of enjoyed, but I stopped before I was in high school. Swimming lessons would have been much more useful, it's such a life skill. I really wish I was a stronger swimmer! So the DC are doing them until they're safe and confident in the water!

Cagliostro · 11/07/2016 20:59

I need to get some swimming sorted for the DCs. We don't go often. I was quite surprised though, one of my new home ed friends is a swimming instructor and she said that actually having the lessons young isn't really necessary, that having fun in the water is more important at this age. I was surprised! We don't live near any body of water though so ATM there is no chance of them going somewhere dangerous IYSWIM.

Lilac Castle of Cagliostro is a favourite of my DCs as well as me, it's very slapsticky. It does get violent in places though with shooting etc. So I would say probably not yet. If that's on the Sky thing though, you may also have Ponyo, Kiki's Delivery Service and My Neighbour Totoro which are more aimed at younger kids. :)

what agree. Swimming is non negotiable.
i swam in the sea before I'd been in a pool. My dad taught me in a giant rock pool and then the sea.

Swimming is a life skill and could save lives. Worth the money. Every penny.

Ordered a new strimmer as ours has died, it was a free one from someone so not too sore about it.

Yesterday I spent £36 in ikea on storage
£11 on dinner
£27 on flea treatments
£12 on a new notebook
£6 on flea tablets

Bloody expensive day.

Today I've paid for swimming lessons for the boys for September half term. £130 but that is the only activity they do and we live next to a canal. Water safety and enjoyment is a big deal.
