LSD £5 Morrison's. Didn't go to aldi.
Postal vote here to.

lilacclery · 23/06/2016 17:52

Gotta post to get ye on to my tio!

Tayto without outing yourself where is this fab place with lunch dessert & wine for such good value?

lilacclery · 23/06/2016 17:58

Did a bit of looking at my cc debt after seeing that documentary.
In 11 weeks I've reduced my debt by €818 but I've paid payments totalling well over €1100 €50+ was fees but the rest was spends. Not good enough. Will work harder at this Grin

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 23/06/2016 18:18

Hi all, I sent my vote off by post a little while ago, feel a bit nervous about the result! I am strongly hoping we stay in but have no idea which way it will go seems very 50/50.

We got a phone call from the wildlife rescue place earlier, little hedgehog apparently now seems fine and they are bringing it back here tonight to release it Smile will let dd stay up as she is desperate to see it!

Have started on the phone calls needed to tell people we are moving so far have done, water, broadband, council tax and tv license! Was hoping my water bill would go down but its still going to be £48 a month Shock we are with Wessex water who charge notoriously high prices. Will be on a meter so will make a big effort to get our usage down though.

Paid my car insurance today, did a quick comparison check (fluffy Wink) and it was about right, it was slightly less than I thought due to moving house and having an allocated parking space! Used my car savings so thats all good.

PurpleRibbons · 23/06/2016 19:09

So I was just thinking how quiet it had been on the thread today and then realised there was a new one. Feel a bit silly Blush
Thanks for the new thread Em and great news about the hedgehog girlie. That is literally the best thing I have heard today, it's been a crap day. Someone has been fraudulently using my cc. Luckily bank noticed and are sorting it but worried our internet connection might not be secure now.
Grrrrr...

Fluffycloudland77 · 23/06/2016 19:46

How are you all getting postal votes?.

Brilliant girlie. Well done on rescuing the little hedgehog.

Newbuild houses are meant to have soakaways fitted if practicable. I would ask the site manager if your house has one.

They audited our whole street after I complained that our soakaway hadn't been accounted for.

Fluffycloudland77 · 23/06/2016 19:51

Bloody hell Purple. Thank god the bank realised it wasn't you.

babsmam · 23/06/2016 20:10

Ah purple, thank goodness your bank caught it.
Fluffy when the council send a form to check who is registered to vote at your address there is an option to have postal votes.
Good news about the hedgehog

CremeEggThief · 23/06/2016 20:45

Eek, Purple. I hope the bank didn't take long to notice.Shock

Girlie, great news about the hedgehog.Smile

£2.90 extra bus fare to collect my new phone and £5.50 on a mushroom food yung, on my way home from voting.

PurpleRibbons · 23/06/2016 20:58

I really want to log into my online banking and check but I'm worried in case our connection is unsafe so going to do it at work tomorrow. The fraudster had been on quite a spree so it was probably fairly obvious it wasn't me!

needastrongone · 23/06/2016 21:26

Think how long the bread bin will last you 8, and divide that by the cost, it's pennies in the long term.

Oh purple, that's awful. Glad the bank sorted it, but it makes you feel unsettled doesn't it?

Spends today.
DH spent £20.
Me Aldi £50, but got wine.

North I agree, we all love all the soft summer fruit, but we eat it way too quickly, and it's expensive too.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 23/06/2016 21:46

Blimey Purple that is scary! Good that they noticed though.

No hedgehog release tonight after all Sad wildlife place rang and said they were too busy to bring it back tonight. So plan now is for them to bring it back tomorrow and we will be in charge of releasing it!! Eek, will post some pics for all you hedgehog lovers Grin

Fluffy am sure i must have ticked a box for postal votes at some point - seriously can't remember though!!

Ememem84 · 23/06/2016 22:41

Oh man purple sorry to hear that. Glad it was noticed though.

Have spent the evening doing a homemade facial and dancin around to songs on my iPod (headphones in) as Dh has been watching some uber scary/violent movie. Too scary for me.

Nsd.

Also popped in to see parents as its dms birthday. Df has a cold. So three some exhinacea at him and went after a cuppa. So happy tomorrow is Friday. It's been such a long week but am interested to see how the vote went. Will we be in or out. And how will it affect me...

Ursulatodd · 24/06/2016 05:17

I've had a terrible nights sleep worrying about the brexit result and have now got up to the worst news. Really worried about what it will result in financially, DHs job, house prices etc. Please tell me something reassuring!

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 24/06/2016 05:41

I'm going for hoping the Leavers are right and the remainers were totally wrong and it will all work out because someone somewhere has a well thought through plan.

That and preparing for the worst case scenario. What a fucking mess.

Ursulatodd · 24/06/2016 06:13

Haha! I'm sure their will be positives when we look back on this with years of hindsight I've just been totally unprepared for it and being a frugaleer am filled with fear that a recession will be triggered.

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 24/06/2016 06:21

I'm trying to put a positive spin on it as long as I can.

At least, in a way, being a frugaleer makes us slightly more prepared than not being one. I suppose I'm lucky in that my job isn't likely to be immediately at risk and should be OK in the long term.

Losing tax credits was something I was preparing for anyway, so if Cameron cuts those it might not be too much of a shock.

People on other threads sticking up on candles is making me twitchy though. That's a step too far, isn't it?

Ememem84 · 24/06/2016 06:36

Well. I wasn't expecting that.

OP posts:
HarveySchlumpfenburger · 24/06/2016 06:39

I don't think many people were. All the threads on it seem to be turning quite nasty.

Ememem84 · 24/06/2016 06:41

I just read something that David Cameron is expected to invoke article 50 to formally give notice to leave eu. And the leavers don't want him to.

Anyone think they haven't thought this through..?! The possibilities of visas (both ways) trade slumping, currency slumping, back to recession, stocks tumbling...

We think the weather caused the vote to swing the way it did.

OP posts:
babsmam · 24/06/2016 06:48

Fucking hell, that's a surprise. Not sure what I think yet

Fluffycloudland77 · 24/06/2016 06:54

If you listen to R4 the countries been skirting near to recession for the last few quarters anyway. there will always be recessions in capitalist countries. I think I've lived through 3 now.

There was an article in a German paper saying Brexit would boost our economy.

The £ will rise again. Those of us who lived through the black Wednesday debacle have seen the economy on its arse and recover.

Fluffycloudland77 · 24/06/2016 06:55

On the upside turnout was over 70% which is astonishingly high.

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 24/06/2016 06:59

I think they think they've thought it through. But there's probably a difference between 'doing research' and actually understanding all the implications of a decision. And, where I live, an awful lot of racists.

I don't think the Remain campaign did enough to spell out the possible implications clearly enough tbh. It'll be bad for the economy wasn't really specific enough without pointing out how that might affect people in different situations e.g. small businesses, low paid etc.

Ememem84 · 24/06/2016 07:07

I know people in the uk who voted leave. Purely because they thought immigrants would be kicked out. Today.

Some friends are only focussed on the immigration thing. Not how it will affect them is everyone financially economically. Etc. Because all they listened to was the hate and racism from the leave propaganda.

It'll certainly be interesting to see what happens next. I'm not yet worried for my job. The markets have crumbled and I'm going to have a busy day today trying to sort out some clients portfolios. But in the immediate future my job will be ok.

It's concerning that there was talk of jersey going independent. So that'll be next.
