ipsos cannot wait til I have a garden. I want to grow things. I have aspirations of me and Dh being like Barbara and Tom from the good life.

If I don't get any supply work, my income is £745 a month for everything except rent, and I still manage waxing, gel polish on my nails and the occasional pedicure on that, Need and Em. I am a big believer in small, affordable treats when you're being frugal.

NSD, as I will be glued to Wimbledon all day from 2 p.m.

CremeEggThief · 10/07/2016 12:16

Just overheard a man really yelling and shouting in our street, lots of swearing too. It was quite scary to listen to. Worst of it was it wasn't a human being who was the subject of his rage , but a poor dog!SadAngry

Fluffycloudland77 · 10/07/2016 12:19

Poor dog. People are vile to animals.

CremeEggThief · 10/07/2016 12:25

I know,Fluffy, but I've never heard anyone shouting at an animal like that before. It was only when I heard him roaring about going in the kennel, just before the poor dog scuttled past with his tail between his legs, that I realised he was shouting at an animal.Angry

I agree, a part of being frugal can be spending the money you have "well" I think. My hair went grey in my 30s & I took the decision not to colour but to have a good cut regularly so around once a month I spend £44 on an hour at the hairdressers and to me it's worth every penny. If we needed to cut back on spending then I would have it done less often or at a cheaper salon.
Well done to your dd need, DS is 15 in Sept & has been to one house party so far. He didn't take alcohol to that but we will let him take a couple of bottles of cider next time and cross our fingers!
Haven't been to any outdoor theatre for a few years now. Every year there is a production fairly local to us which goes on for a few weeks, this year it's The Hobbit.
Just checked on eBay as my 3 items end tonight. A pair of flip flops are up to £6.60 with 10 watchers, Birkies £2.20 & 12 watchers, ds' suit no bids but 4 now watching. £30 total would be nice but not holding my breath. I put a minimum price of £20 on the suit as I'm sure I'd be able to sell it locally pre prom season next year.

ipsogenix · 10/07/2016 12:54

Em that sounds like a lot of fun. Smile

Sorry to hear about the dog Creme. That's quite strange.

Very NSD kind of day here. It's good.

DontLetMeLetYouGo · 10/07/2016 13:04

All this eBaying has just reminded me to list some things of DS from when we went on a cruise last year.

We bought many smart evening attire which won't be worn now. He will have outgrown them. I'll get round to it at some point.

At work on my break. I don't feel hungry. I've not eaten today but will later on. I'm having a nice shift and it feels so weird.

DontLetMeLetYouGo · 10/07/2016 13:05

There's a charity bike ride going past. I'm watching them all cycle, it's a 50k one I think. I look such a weirdo haha.

Cagliostro · 10/07/2016 13:39

Yesterday:
bus £6.30
dancing (june/july) £30
coop £1.92
coop £2.32
coop £5.50
yes 3 different spends in the coop Blush oh well at least DH gets discount :)

needastrongone · 10/07/2016 14:20

I've never got DH to tidy up after himself in all these years Em.

Poor dog Creme, can't understand folk being unkind to animals. Dogs especially, they love and trust you unconditionally.

I've stuck some stuff on Ebay too, 2 Joules tops, one Fat Face and a very old Heart Rate Monitor. The Joules jumper had a bid with minutes, so something will sell. I never wore the item other that for a couple of hours as it's 100% wool and made me itch. Still it's a beautiful bright red cable knit and in perfect condition.

15 is a tricky age to play it right isn't it North. DS is 17 in September, it's easier with him, he's so close to being an adult I can hardly stop him doing stuff really.

Ememem84 · 10/07/2016 14:31

Surfing was hilarious. It was a waste of time really me hiring the board. I spent more time in the water than I did on it! 🏄🏻

need I'm working on the basis that as long as his stuff is in the right room and out of sight (his side of the bed is near the window where no one can see anyway) it's ok. Ish.

We've settled in to watch the tennis. Tea and malt loaf and robinsons squash.

Have done a cupboard audit. And have started a meal plan.

Hi all Smile.

I just wanted to mention that we hired a RugDoctor for 24 hours recently, and used it to shampoo our 2x cars' upholstery. It worked really well, and it was pretty frugal too. We'll definitely do it again in the future.

Cagliostro · 10/07/2016 14:50

Good to know Space! :) I definitely want to do that. Actually while doing the paperwork shredding I found all our tenancy stuff for this house - including the inventory. It's going to be at least another year until we can move, but when we do I at least want to try and make sure as much matches the inventory as possible. It's an incentive to get the house more organised, so that we can start working on more 'structural' things IYSWIM (I mean things like replacing door handles etc) to make sure nothing is dodgy when we finally leave.

Cagliostro · 10/07/2016 15:49

Random question, does anyone know how long you have to keep divorce papers?! I've put them aside as I've been shredding stuff, DH would really like to ditch as much of it as possible (horrible abusive marriage) - does he need it as we are married now? CSA stuff is irrelevant now as their DCs are adults now, and any money goes direct to them. So... do we still need to keep it?

ipsogenix · 10/07/2016 16:05

Cag I think it would probably be best to. Just like birth certificates and all those things. You wouldn't want to have the solidity of the divorce to be in question really. Maybe you could put it somewhere very very out of sight?

CremeEggThief · 10/07/2016 16:06

I think he should keep the decree absolute, but I don't see why he should keep anything else, Cag.

ipsogenix · 10/07/2016 16:07

The main thing is that the fact of your marriage doesn't necessarily prove the existence of the divorce. I realise the following is fictional but I remember a sherlock holmes story that hinged on the fact that a man had got married without having previously divorced his first wife. The lack of proof of the prior divorce meant that the later marriage was no longer binding. Both certificates were needed to make the later marriage legitimate.

Fluffycloudland77 · 10/07/2016 16:28

I'd keep it Cag.

Cagliostro · 10/07/2016 16:31

Ah thanks. Right ok then. So the decree absolute, yes I was thinking keep that (ugh), but the other stuff (I'm not actually even sure what that is) could potentially go? I'm not actually sure what the other stuff is, TBF, I am planning on putting it all aside and then once it's all gathered together we can go through it. But is a DA enough in itself to prove DH is divorced? Is that what it means? (All Greek to me TBH, he was already divorced long before we met.)

Cagliostro · 10/07/2016 16:32

And yes Ipso that thought had crossed my mind - funny that you use a SH example as DH loves the stories. But the whole bigamy thing did cross my mind (as in proof that DH didn't commit it, not as a possible lifestyle choice... :o).

Ememem84 · 10/07/2016 16:32

I thought that legally you had to keep it. We have a few cases at work where clients have previously divorced and now re-married.

We keep the divorce paperwork in our safe along with their wills. Mostly to show in the event of death that the exes don't have a claim on marital assets (apparently this has happened before).

OP posts:
CremeEggThief · 10/07/2016 16:34

I've only got my DA, everything else was shredded as soon as the DA came through.

ipsogenix · 10/07/2016 16:46

LOL! Cag. Smile

Canklesofglitter · 10/07/2016 16:50

space do you think a rug doctor would work on a sofa? Our furniture budget needs to go on the bathroom changes in the new house but our lovely cream sofa is looking a little grubby. If we could clean it up we could use it until we can save for a replacement.

Frugal win today. We had a bring and share lunch at church and someone bought a selectipn of lovely bread which didn't get used so we got to bring it home.
