£4.19 at the shop earlier, on toilet roll and treats. In for the rest of the weekend now, watching all the Wimbledon finals.

WreckTangled · 09/07/2016 15:26

We've been invited to go to a festival with some friends. It's £370 for all of us ouch. They said they could get us a tent to use though, we are camping virgins though...

Fluffycloudland77 · 09/07/2016 15:34

Do you wash up Badders?

ipsogenix · 09/07/2016 16:12

I've just figured out something that's been bugging me for years. My identity as a person has always been as an expatriot Scot (since age 5 when we left for the first time). The thing that's bugging me is that I like that sense of identity, and don't know how to pass it on to ds without actually taking him to live in Scotland for a while (which isn't nearly as much fun as being an expatriot Scot abroad.) Finally! It's taken me years to work that out.

I still don't know what the answer is, but at least I know what the question is now. Smile

Badders123 · 09/07/2016 16:13

I do fluffy
We have a dw but there are always things that cant go in are too big
I use cheap Aldi dw tabs and washi g up liquid though 😂

Badders123 · 09/07/2016 16:15

No idea what happened with that stray emoji there!

Badders123 · 09/07/2016 16:15

I'm so bored I'm making cookies

Ememem84 · 09/07/2016 16:17

Beach time. 🌊

Oh good. I wish the water companies would subsidise dw for people who haven't got them. It would save so much water.

Ipsos I'm a mix of Irish, Welsh and Scot. I get asked if I'm mixed race Indian/Arab sometimes.

Cagliostro · 09/07/2016 16:28

Sounds good to me Fluffy - mind you we would find the money for a DW somewhere IF we had the room to plumb it in!

I'm feeling crap today - wheezy and coughing a lot, it's definitely got worse again. Angry

Yesterday wasn't a NSD in the end as DH got the bus partway home, £1.60. Today will be spendier due to dancing fees.

I'm organising a trial at a local gymnastics club. DD is still sticking with the (very very cheap) home ed class, as she has lots of friends there and enjoys it, but she is desperate for a challenge as the current class is 'too easy'. The new one is a bit more expensive, but it's right in our part of town so no travel unless I'm really too unwell to walk, in which case I'll get the bus. Worth it to see her confidence blossoming though, I'm so very proud when I see her do gymnastics. The kid's got great poise and strength, which she most certainly did not get from me. :)

Tryingtosaveup · 09/07/2016 16:37

I've got a DW but usually wash up because I thought it saved water ( I'm on a meter) and electricity,
Am I doing it wrong? Is the DW cheaper to use?

northender · 09/07/2016 16:42

Just been catching up, badders the flying ants sound horrible, we had them a couple of years ago, I remember it well.
Cag better to build your business with groups that appreciate what you do and who you enjoy working with.
Em beach bbq sounds fab and fresh mackerel, even better. Enjoy!

£110 on high school uniform for dd. Still a couple of things to get but mostly done.
£3.40 in charity shop, tie for dh, 500 piece jigsaw for dd & I to do in the holidays (junior map of Europe)
Ds playing cricket today & dd scoring. Dh and I are going to watch ds in a few minutes and then we're going to my parents' for dinner.
My mum, dd and I are going to London for the day next Saturday. Train tickets and show tickets (Matilda) all paid for so I'm now trying to plan what food to take. I've got an insulated backpack so that food stays cool. We're going to have a picnic breakfast on the train, then a picnic lunch before the show. We'll hopefully find somewhere for dinner before coming back on the train. Hoping only to spend on evening meal and any other essential bits.
Unfrugally, I've managed to lose my passport. A friend asked me to sign passport pics for her children which needs passport details and I couldn't find it. Still can't, so unless something miraculous happens between now and Monday I'll have to get my application sorted. I guess it's a good thing I found out now and not a week before we go to France!

Badders123 · 09/07/2016 16:47

Trying...it's the same idea as a shower using less water thAn a bath Smile

needastrongone · 09/07/2016 16:52

I thought dishwashers were cheaper to run overall?

Yes, I have accomplished a lot today and really pleased. I love being at home, rather than in a field in the rain.

20 minute run.
M&S (£38, due to gin in the main for presents)
Next, picked up an order, which will go back (chinos, looked awful). However, found a pretty top for £16.
Boots, £18 but used Advantage points so £0.
£29 Aldi, mainly topping up for DS, who eats like a horse, but also 3 packs of coathangers.
£66 French Connection, on tops and a work dress, which will likely be returned.

Sorted out all my wardrobe, cleaned out. 2 bags for tip, 2 bags for charity, a good number to Ebay tomorrow.

Also, fluffy might be interested, following my complaint CEO to Thomson for the additional charge for baggage, they phoned today and are refunding the full charge of £150 Smile

Tomorrow, another run, Ebay like crazy, clear out shoe boxes, get passport photos for the DC bus passes.

Fluffycloudland77 · 09/07/2016 16:52

Trying The dw is cheaper, check the manual (it'll be online if you've lost it) to see which program is cheapest, it's not always Eco.

I run ours every night even if it's half full, for 9ltrs of water & one kWh it's cheaper than I could wash up by hand.

I forgot earlier, £3 on Dylon dye. I'm dying the tea towels black after Dh got turmeric all over them aging the trim on an acoustic guitar.

Fluffycloudland77 · 09/07/2016 16:54

Oh well done need.

creme did your energy company get back to you about the cashback?.

CremeEggThief · 09/07/2016 17:07

Wow, busy, busy bee, Need.

Fluffy, it's a long, convoluted saga, but in short, no. UK Power, the energy switching company tried to pass the blame to topcashback for not invoicing them and then topcashback told me that UK Power had got their information wrong and then my cashback pending date which was within 12 weeks of 18th February was changed to within 30 weeks....

Tryingtosaveup · 09/07/2016 17:37

Right, that's me sorted. The DW it is from now on. I will look at the manual which I still have. I just thought that because I live on my own it would be cheaper to wash up. How wrong was I ?
Thanks folks

Ememem84 · 09/07/2016 17:46

Dh is too hungover for fishing and gutting the fish. 😕 So we just went to the beach instead.

Dinner at home tonight. Satay pork and rice.

May have had a bit of a nap on the beach. And may have also perved a bit on the French rugby sevens team. Ooooh laaaa laa!! 💪🏽💪🏽🇫🇷🇫🇷

That's hilarious Fluffy. Everybody thinks I'm German. Smile

Cagliostro · 09/07/2016 18:03

I have leg envy Em Envy :o

I'm not sure what to do for dinner.

ipsogenix · 09/07/2016 18:14

I just set one of ds's tantrums to music so he can do angry piano playing. Score! In both senses.

CremeEggThief · 09/07/2016 18:30

Ipsogenix, that's hilarious. Grin

Cag, freezer pizza for us.

Cagliostro · 09/07/2016 18:34

Yep I just realised we have chicken dippers in the freezer so that's saved my bacon, so to speak. With a microwave bag of frozen veg and value baked beans. Done. And satisfies the junk food craving and I have cake for after but don't tell the kids that :o.

Cagliostro · 09/07/2016 18:34

Ipso I'm imagining either Holst's Mars, or perhaps O Fortuna..? :o
