WreckCat is crying because he wants to go outside Sad we've been told to keep him in for four weeks and it's only been 1...

Ememem84 · 05/07/2016 17:39

Spends today: £6.75 in m&s for fruit (but was on a gift card so technically free)

Body shop sale sucked me in. £13 for a frosty Apple body butter and three shower gels (raspberry peach and apple).

I also saw new skinnies in m&s. In purple. And black. I do need a new black pair (or just need to dye my existing ones). And want the purple....

£3.86 stamps.

Dylon dye is £3 in homebargains.

Got a free muesli bar through the post. Chuffed.

I've been at home tucked up in bed this afternoon. I've not felt well for a week or so now but today I was in work and felt rubbish so decided to be kind to myself, colleagues and patients and go home! Not sure what's wrong but maybe some sort of virus.
Dh has gone to Aldi to fill up our half empty cupboards. Dd is away with school so things aware easier at home. Cottage pie from the freezer for tea.
Some good news, we got the Keyfacts document through today for our mortgage additional borrowing and it's very manageable so we can crack on with the loft plans.

eastmidswarwicknightnanny · 05/07/2016 18:38

Good luck with interview dont

We moved offices in march v stressful for team but positive was that it was closer to home for 80% of staff and not really any further for 20% now they want to move us back 2mins from where we were which wasn't an option before its been made to sound like a choice but I am well versed to the will you consider emails as if you say No it happens anyway they hope you say yes then they can tick the consultation box!

Star2015 · 05/07/2016 18:38

Sorry you're not well northender hope you get well soon Flowers

NSD for me today!! Hooray!

I work in a large city centre and I do earn a good wage but with us moving house (and with an expensive holiday coming up) we're trying so hard to be good and not spend anything... I try not to go out at lunch time as we have lots of great shops and I'd end up spending.. Although by 3pm I feel like ice been in the office for days..!

Anyone else do this to avoid spending?

Have a great evening everyone Smile

Ememem84 · 05/07/2016 18:48

north feel better!!!

star yes! I do that. So many nice shoppy shops near my work. I've started trying to go for walks instead.

We have a lot on the go here this evening. Salmon noodle stir fry for tonight's dinner. Roasting veggies for couscous lunch tomorrow. And Dh is making a Thai green curry for tomorrow's dinner.

Busy bees here.

Tryingtosaveup · 05/07/2016 19:21

Just tried to book somewhere to stay in Yorkfor DGD and me for 2 nights in August and it's £ hundreds. Am in shock. I don't want to buy the place, just a small room for 2 nights.
In shock!
Any ideas?

Fluffycloudland77 · 05/07/2016 19:28

Premier inn?

lilacclery · 05/07/2016 19:30

Haven't been here since before the weekend, will catch up later or tomorrow

Groceries €199.31 hasn't shopped in about ten days

Canklesofglitter · 05/07/2016 19:31

Hope you feel better soon north.

NSD today. Second one of the month. Even managed to persuade DH to take a water bottle with him when he went out. He is dreadful for buying coffees and he fritters cash away quickly.

Been to view two houses this evening. Both second viewings. Slightly scared at the thought of buying before DH gets another contract but his point is that we have to pay rent anyway and the mortgage isn't much more. One is a better location but needs work and the other is a less good location but needs very little doing to it.

Meals planned for the next week and Aldi shoping list written out ready for tomorrow.

CremeEggThief · 05/07/2016 19:31

There are a few Travelodges in York, Tryingto. Check their prices.

Canklesofglitter · 05/07/2016 19:33

Yes Premier Inn if it's just a room. In York the Queens Hotel on the riverside is nice and not too pricey. There's also a Park Inn in York which is ok. For the seaside try the Youth Hostels as some of those are nice.

babsmam · 05/07/2016 19:41

adora get well soon, I once fractured my big toe, the pain was horrendous

ItalianWiking84 · 05/07/2016 20:54

Get well soon north

Tryingtosaveup · 05/07/2016 21:21

Thanks, am off to look at travel lodges and premier inn, thanks folks

SnugglySnerd · 05/07/2016 21:47

We only spent £18 on dinner - burgers and chips plus a drink each and we shared a pudding.
Hope you feel better soon North.
Is it too soon to mention the C word? I'm starting to think that it might be time to do a little gift shopping to spread the cost.
I'm off to look at purple skinnies on M&S website, it is my very favourite colour...

Tryingtosaveup · 05/07/2016 22:22

Thanks for the help. Have booked 2 nights in the travel lodge. The premier inn and the queen's hotels were both full for the dates in August that I needed. Will book the archeological dig tomorrow.
Taking kids to places is really expensive these days. What with this and the space centre my savings pot is not looking healthy.
Still I've got tesco vouchers for some London trips and it's worth it as I love taking them. I try and help out with them in the school holidays.
Will have to try and earn some extra bits of money somehow.

Ememem84 · 05/07/2016 22:28

snuggly they're the 5 pocket jeggings. And they are in a multitude of beautiful colours.
