I just woke up an hour ago to a lovely roast lamb dinner, yum.

I'm also doing a night shift again tonight. Initially I wasn't going to as all had been booked but there was a cancellation and they rang me. I accepted for some reason lol so I've spent the whole afternoon sleeping.

I've a few things on my chest right now bugging me. It's things that can't be helped and it's out of my control. There's no stopping it. I just have to be involved in such occasion. I'll be glad when it's over. I'm fed up of being the bigger person in all of it though. It's mentally and emotionally draining.

NSD here.

babsmam · 03/07/2016 19:30

Pleased the guys did well need. Ah it wouldn't be the same without cheeky pony though. We'd miss him too Grin
Pleased the night shift went well don't. Take care though. If you want to get it off your chest we are here.

CremeEggThief · 03/07/2016 19:42

Oh yes, we would definitely miss Cheeky Pony!Smile

Hope you decided on your photos, Babs. Think of the money, Don't. Your new co-workers sound nice.

Sierra259 · 03/07/2016 19:59

Your cat looks very comfy there Wreck!
Pretty good day here, £10 for some bits in Co-op, but that was it today. Had a BBQ round at a neighbours for tea - made a cheesecake to take and regifted a bottle of wine. Am doing Slimming World atm and have ditched the booze so I can still have chocolate!

Just about to do this week's online shop. Might be a use up stuff in the freezer week as next weekend will be expensive for DH's birthday.

ItalianWiking84 · 03/07/2016 20:16

Managed to have a nsd and now watching footie, cheering for the Vikings Grin

babsmam · 03/07/2016 20:27

We choose one each for a frame crème but it was very difficult and I may change my mind yet. Will put the rest in a photo book. Today was really tough, had a few tears especially at the time the vet came last week. Sad

Fluffycloudland77 · 03/07/2016 20:29

Welcome Carby Smile

I would miss the cheeky sod too, he was not happy tonight, as we had to put Sudocrem on his nose, its got a bit sunburned. He wiggled and jiggled and wiped his nose on a bush when he got in the field Grin

Evening all! Back from my weekend away and only £30 down which was entirely coffee, cake and chocolate!
Going to catch up on the thread now.

Tryingtosaveup · 03/07/2016 21:03

Badders, there a Kids go Free thing for the London theatres. It is for the whole of August and you get a child's ticket free with each adult ticket and a second child's ticket half price.
Most shows are included. It's really good. I have used it lots to take grandkids.

Ursulatodd · 03/07/2016 21:04

What's your chicken tray bake recipe need? We often have them when visiting family but have never attempted to make ourselves.

We didn't have a NSD after all - £5 at church cafe on tea and cake in the sun. MIL was volunteering today so felt we should support!

Badders123 · 03/07/2016 21:08

We are going in SEptember sadly - shame as that's a good deal !

Tryingtosaveup · 03/07/2016 21:16

Blimey Cag, that is a steal for the Tower of London. I have just exchanged some tesco vouchers for entry for me and DGD in the school hols.
If you are going to London in August then do try the theatre website" Kids Go Free". As I said above all the shows are included and some have extra workshops thrown in.
I am also using tesco vouchers for the cutty sark trip. They do pirate workshops which DGS will love.
I used the conversion thingy but I think it has finished last week
NSD here...well just DSiL's birthday.

Tryingtosaveup · 03/07/2016 22:01

Yay Em! NSD here too :)

KateSpade · 04/07/2016 07:38

Spent about £12 yesterday on some ice lollys, drinks (for the park) & a cake mix plus fags!

That's a tip I've learned from mumsnet! Taking ice creams with you, it's £3.00 for a tiny ice cream at the park we went to yesterday! For that I got 4 fruit pastel lollys & 3 peanut butter magnums! So we have enough for next time!

I'm off work today on holiday, so once dd is in bed I plan to do.... NOTHING! It's going to be glorious!

northender · 04/07/2016 09:07

Okay, time for a proper catch up post. Welcome to newbies, you're all very welcome here & will get great advice and support.
It's been a crazy couple of weeks here, hence my lack of posting. Dd has gone off this morning for her induction day at high school. We're hoping it'll be a great new start for her as primary school has been a real struggle for the last couple of years. She walked in with a friend from Y7. Then tonight she goes off on an outward bound type week with school, so a peaceful week for us!
Have done well meals wise and avoided takeaways and meals out. Need to plan properly for this week though.
Both our cars have had MOTs in the last couple of weeks, ouch! Need to rein in spending for the rest of the month.
Our application to extend our mortgage to fund the loft conversion has gone in and been accepted but will take a while to be processed. That's okay as the work won't start until August. Very exciting but scary at the same time.
My personal training sessions are going well and having the desired effect. Hard work but so worth it. Wearing trousers today which are still a snug fit but considerably less snug than a couple of weeks ago.
Listed 3 things on eBay last night so we'll see how they go.
Need to go and update my budget spreadsheet now & then plan for the rest of the month.

ItalianWiking84 · 04/07/2016 09:26

Nsd today, still home from work because of pain in my back and legs.
Dh and my dad is starting building our new wardrobes for the 3 beds tomorrow so we need to have a proper clear out of all the crap that we kinda never have sorted from returning from abroad. Hope to sell some of the stuff and rest for charity.

Badders123 · 04/07/2016 10:41

Bought some rolls and croissants from co op - £3
Forgot the strawberries!
Ds1 off school tomorrow due to NUT strike so will take him out for lunch
He also needs new white socks no idea where the 6 pairs he did have are gone
Someone at school wants ds2s old school shorts and trousers so that's good
Must get on with the ironing....

Cagliostro · 04/07/2016 12:07

Oh Trying we did a pirate workshop at the Cutty Sark a couple of years back (actually we used the 2for1 train ticket offer) the DCs loved it. :)

Having a look at the theatre site now, thanks - DS' birthday at the end of August and my mum has been asking what to get him and where to take him on the day.

Tomorrow might be a bit spendier than planned - we're getting the bus to the town where the museum workshops are, in the morning so DH can come with us (family ticket on the bus so no extra) and we might go swimming, as it's still off peak prices while school's still on :o although it may still be busy due to school strikes. But the DCs have been desperate to go to this pool for a couple of years (DS hasn't been there at all) and it's £12.50 for the four of us. So will then have something to eat I guess, before the workshops in the afternoon. Will pop into the game shop as well, obviously. But mustn't buy anything unless there's a rare sale. Blush

Cagliostro · 04/07/2016 12:26

Oh and we are going to get a small shredder as well. We've had paperwork stashed for years, it's quite ridiculous, but we managed to sort a bit of it the other day while frantically searching for a receipt we lost, and no we didn't find it - still although it's old I don't want to just throw it away as it is.

Wilkos seems like a safe bet for a shredder?
