Off work today as was sick in the night Envy feeling pretty rubbish still so am not moving far from the sofa!

I have been a bit productive though, I put my meter readings in online and they have dropped my monthly DD by nearly £20 a month Shock was thinking of changing companies but not sure now! According to USwitch I can still save some more money but some of the tariffs seem too low?

I have also claimed my cashback so that is £21 up Smile

Have been doing surveys as well so a few Tesco points!

Not planning on going anywhere today so should be a nsd.

TheOnlyPink · 04/09/2015 10:45

north you and your ds sound so amazing, fair play to you both. That's a really shitty thing to have to deal with but you both sound like you have a brilliant attitude towards it. Really hope your ds isn't in much pain.

Ugh just been looking at the bank, and we are now skint. All bills will be paid, without going into overdraft, paid double the minimum payment on credit card, so that's a massive improvement for us, but there's nothing left over now. It's 2.5 weeks to pay day, and we will be fine, I just need to get used to living within my means!
Dh got an expenses refund, but that money needs to go on his corporate amex when the bill comes, so there's a large sum sitting in the account, waiting. I hate that!

Spent €5.50 this morning on bread, milk and ham. We usually buy some junk food on a Friday, but we are trying to et out of that habit, so didn't buy anything! Smile

Fluffycloudland77 · 04/09/2015 11:17

Sounds a bit shit Lilac, did he even stop?. I'd be furious too.

Excellent saving Girlie.

Girlfriend36 · 04/09/2015 11:17

Collie I have just signed up to nectar canvass! Thankyou for the tip, just got 50 points!

North hope your ds is o.kay, he sounds so brave Star

Collieputthekettleon · 04/09/2015 11:37

That's fab girlie! They sent me so many emails. They went into my spam folder though so make sure you check it.

So yesterday DH & I took part in the Amazon offer. (Buy a £40 gift card & get £10 free). Which means we spent £80 and got £20 back for free. It was all funded by our Quidco earnings and we will do all of our Christmas shopping with Amazon. Everything on the Christmas list is from Amazon anyway so really chuffed!

Donated a 6 man tent, saucepans & mens trainers to the refugees. It was all in the "desperately needed" list. The saucepans were in the cupboard ready for donating anyway and we're happy to cope without the tent. It won't get used much by us anyway Flowers

babsmam · 04/09/2015 11:53

Peppa I got the 52 pounds towel warmer and had a fiver voucher, and waiting for cashback through kidstart

babsmam · 04/09/2015 12:26

Well done north ds. [[north]]

ohhelpohnoitsa · 04/09/2015 14:41

collie how did you donate your stuff? Where is the list?

SpottyTeacakes · 04/09/2015 15:02

Nsd. Dh's boss has paid one of our credit cards for him so that just lives the big one.

I've got a beef casserole in the oven yum.

Fluffycloudland77 · 04/09/2015 15:07

That's very generous of him Spotty.

Pointlessfan · 04/09/2015 15:42

I'm also going to sign up for Nectar canvass, thanks for the tip I'd never heard of it before.
I have some old saucepans I can donate. We found them when we cleared out the garage so we can def spare them! How do we donate?
Just spent £2.50 on a treat coffee before I pick DD up from nursery.

Girlfriend36 · 04/09/2015 15:49

I have got a 6 man tent in the cupboard as well, its been in there 7 years Blush I kept it thinking we would one day go camping but doesn't look very likely!

I tried to do some more Nectar surveys but kept getting told 'sorry this is not the right survey for you' Confused Grin I am getting a voucher for some fish through Tescos though so that is good!

SpottyTeacakes · 04/09/2015 15:51

Dh will pay him back through overtime so it's win win really Smile

northender · 04/09/2015 16:56

ipsos glad your heating is sorted.
Wow spotty good news on the credit card
Girlfriend hope you feel better soon
emem hope the bidding war ended well for you. A sunglasses case....really?? Good on you!

Have had a lazy day with ds today. Thanks again for all your good wishes.
Just watched the Eat well for less programme on catch up Shock. Even ds was shaking his head through it!! It has made me feel better about my spending yesterday which actually in the general scheme of things isn't bad at all.

SpottyTeacakes · 04/09/2015 16:58

Fluffy/girlie anyone else medical. Dh dropped a brick on his foot at work today, he's just having a shower but the nail appears to have uprooted completely, I will have a better look in a minute, what should I do?!

NK5BM3 · 04/09/2015 17:01

hello! spendy day as predicted. Hair £67 (that's colour, cut for me and a cut for dd who's 4) - which isn't bad. it included a half price cut for me - as I was a new customer and had a new stylist.

lunch out at Japanese ramen shop - yums £18.80

Chinese shop £1.70

DD's shoes £37 trainers but half a size up and looks big on her. yay!

bus fare home £3.

North - glad to hear your ds is going to well soon. how long will the treatment take?

now to think about dinner... grr. bored bored bored. any inspirations??

Fluffycloudland77 · 04/09/2015 17:04

Snip the nail off and put a dry dressing on it. Don't put any antiseptics on it, a quick salt water baths enough.

The nail will grow back but might be a bit thicker afterwards. Did he have toe tectors on.

SpottyTeacakes · 04/09/2015 17:08

No he had trainers on ????

SpottyTeacakes · 04/09/2015 17:09

It's come off at the bottom of the nail the top is still on so I don't think I can snip it. Got a nice blood blister forming under it too...

NK5BM3 · 04/09/2015 17:10

oh no spotty - that's really ouchy!! sure he's not broken the toe?

SpottyTeacakes · 04/09/2015 17:13

The toe itself is fine just the nail Grin

northender · 04/09/2015 17:37

Sounds painful Spotty

NK He has a "pigeon chest" deformity. No treatment on the NHS as it's "just" cosmetic Angry. The bracing is quite new in the UK with only 2 clinics doing it but in the US & Europe it's a much more common treatment. He has to wear the braces pretty much 24/7 for up to a year plus doing daily exercises as it's a "dynamic" treatment to re shape his chest.

I feel quite angry about the NHS position on it. There are no direct physical/medical effects but within a year of developing it his posture had deteriorated significantly which over time would have resulted in musculoskeletal problems needing treatment from the NHS! That's not even considering the psychological effects of something like that on a teen. Ds is lucky and has a good, supportive group of friends but not everyone is so fortunate. Sorry, rant over

lilacclery · 04/09/2015 17:39

If it's his big toe he might find his balance is a bit off.

Dds first week in school and there's an outbreak of headlice going to be a fun evening!

Fluffycloudland77 · 04/09/2015 17:42

Loosely dress it and look at it again tomorrow.

SpottyTeacakes · 04/09/2015 17:44

Thanks that's what I've done Smile

My beef casserole was delicious mmmm
