Happy Birthday Free Cake Flowers Wine

Unescorted I hope you say something to them about it.

spotty A lot of dhs colleagues have had tax rebates, maybe they owed you the money.

wheelycote · 31/08/2015 08:12

Unescorted much (((hugs))) when a loved one is poorly...Everyone feels it and can take out their stress on each other.....just remember that people tend to see the negative things in others what they don't like about themselves...if that makes sense. Those that are saying your a bad daughter I dare say they're actually feeling guilty and not so great children themselves. (Big bunch of flowers emoticon here)

wheelycote · 31/08/2015 08:18

unescorted just to add...tell them to deal with their own issues not to put their s%&@ on you :) next time they say something negative again.

Badders123 · 31/08/2015 08:21

Unescorted Flowers
I use m and s thermals to keep warm.
I am hoping to lose some weight so am going to ask for money for my b day (in 6 weeks) to buy some new clothes
I buy clothes from ebay too! I love boden...natural fibres and really flattering design for my body shape but they are ££££ :(
So I get them from e bay...I like the boys clothes too.

Unescorted · 31/08/2015 08:26

I think I am feeling sensitive too.... guilt I think. I was going to go and see her this morning (she like me is an early person) but visiting hours are 2-4 and 7-8. The hospital is a way away so I am reluctant to turn up on spec to see if they will let me in anyway. The seemed very firm about the visitations when I called.

Re DDad and DB - it is easier to let them think that they are doing everything. It is their coping mechanism for the moment. I am feeling the need to say something to DM's friends..... it is almost as if they have forgotten that I am her daughter and I really don't need to shoulder their upset as well. The conversations start "I don't want to call your Dad or Bro because they will be under a huge amount of stress....." Well thank you for your concern.....

Badders123 · 31/08/2015 08:46

I am in a similar position within my own family. My siblings do very little for mum since my dad died and I am the punch bag when things go wrong.
I really do think sometimes they must think I have no feelings at all :(
I hope your mum feels better soon. They are very strict on visiting times (and with good reason IMHO)
When under stress people can bed very thoughtless...try and get some rest yourself.

Girlfriend36 · 31/08/2015 08:49

Sad unescorted Flowers that sounds so difficult, come and vent here anytime. Wards do get funny about visiting times, usually because the mornings are so hectic. Sometimes on wends/ bh they are more relaxed though? Might be worth ringing them to check.

Ememem84 · 31/08/2015 09:15

Nsd yesterday. Hooray.

Paid £30 off credit card - ebay sales- so that's a start.

I've put my wedding dress for sale on eBay in the hopes that someone will buy it.
Although I love it it's taking up space and I'm not going to wear it again.

babsmam · 31/08/2015 09:18

Big hugs unescorted.

Binglet · 31/08/2015 09:23

Well I still have £7 left from my £20 weekend spends and we were due to go to a car boot this morning to spend it on sausage sandwiches, however it's extremely rainy so it's looking like a day in, therefore a LSD. I need to nip out and get a hanging wardrobe organiser as I am going to use today to try and sort DD piles of clothes that no longer fit her.

Hoping DP will get up soon and make homemade sausage sandwiches as we missed out on car boot ones.

Binglet · 31/08/2015 09:24

unescorted try and have a relax today. Some time to yourselves can really help. Flowers for you.

Binglet · 31/08/2015 09:26

Oh and I've just remembered. I'm going to phone sky today and see if they can do me a deal. Paying £60 a month and that's without movies as I had to cancel them due to cost. Hoping to get it down a bit and hopefully get them to throw movies in too. Will threaten to leave as per.

ohhelpohnoitsa · 31/08/2015 09:39

unescorted I feel for you. The same happened to my best friend when her sister was killed tragically. Everyone rang my friend becasue they didnt want to disturb her patents. she was under a tremendous amount if stress already and that doubled it. Hoping your mum will be ok and you can visit sooner rather than later. FlowersBrew

ohhelpohnoitsa · 31/08/2015 09:49

Does anyone have sky broadband and find it inadequate? Ours seems intermittent. We aren't very happy with it.
What is everyone doing today? its so rainy but we have to do something as we were in a lot yesterday. Need to order new carpets and flooring but doing that with 3dcs is not going to be pleasant is it. Softplay is going to be rammed. Might go to pizza hut for lunch. Dh's parents used to go to DFS every bank holiday as it was the only place open in the 70s. Maybe I could treat him to a trip down memory lane!!!

SpottyTeacakes · 31/08/2015 09:56

We left sky because the broadband was shit. We aren't doing anything today it's raining and will be all day and dh is working.

Pointlessfan · 31/08/2015 10:02

Hope you are ok unescorted that sounds very stressful.
I'm going to buy new leggings today as mind are in holes and also 2 sizes to big as I bought them to wear when DD was born.
If anyone is stuck at home on this wet bank holiday, we are enjoying all the Beatles songs they are playing on Radio 2.

Binglet · 31/08/2015 10:04

We may have a ride out to The Range for my wardrobe organiser maybe, to stop my IKEA craving. Weather is truly rubbish today. DP had his heart set on bacon so will definatly be popping out to get some for brunch.

Ememem84 · 31/08/2015 10:06

I don't think I'm doing anything today. Might veg and watch Netflix. I found Sherlock on there yesterday. Why have I never seen this before....?!

Savagebeauty · 31/08/2015 10:10

I am not spending today.
But tomorrow going shopping with dd for her birthday and also uni stuff.

I have three trips to London this week for various exhibitions with friends, so that will be 3 lunches out.

So an expensive week. And will find out this week what new tax credits payment will be.Shock

Collieputthekettleon · 31/08/2015 10:23

Pointless my leggings are from Asos and they cover my bloated belly so extra warm and comfy. My New Look ones would sit at my hips and fall down as I moved around.

Just had a damp & breezy walk on the beach. Very nice! And quiet Grin

Now it's time to sit down and record all my spends in the spreadsheets. I hate having to be so careful!

wheelycote · 31/08/2015 10:38

collie do you live near the beach? Am jealous!!!:)

Can quorn mince be refrozen wants cooked?? I made a chilli yesterday with frozen mince quorn and dtweens weren't keen on it...I loved it though...have loads left...plan is to refreeze or eat chilli for the next few days

wheelycote · 31/08/2015 10:40

emenem with you on Sherlock its fab!!

peppansalt · 31/08/2015 10:42

Wheely.... Yes I refreeze quorn dishes a lot esp when cooking big batches of lasagne, chilli etc. just make sure to reheat thoroughly.

SpottyTeacakes · 31/08/2015 10:48

I love Sherlock!

This weeks meal plan:

S: Chicken Caesar salad
S: Roast chicken

M: Chicken chorizo casserole (in sc right now mmm)
T: Chicken pops and chips (early start at work day!)
W: going to legoland so not sure
T: Beef casserole
F: Moroccan meatballs and couscous

I need to do my end of month spreadsheet too. Not looking forward to it!

Freeandsinglewater · 31/08/2015 10:49

Can you all talk to me about drying clothes indoors?
I'm in a rented place and drying clothes indoors is a no on the contract. The bathroom fan is broken which was reported 3-4 weeks ago, and still not done.

So how do I dry my clothes in winter? With a two year old I can't spend hours down the laundrette. Due the state of the garden it will be very difficult to dry clothes outdoors, I do have a patio.
