If you didn't get the jab, would you consider having it now?

You'd better be quick if you're healthy and under 50...

"The Telegraph understands the Government is also preparing to wind down the open offer of the first two doses over the coming months. The move will mean unvaccinated healthy under-50s will soon not be able to get a Covid jab unless one is recommended by a medical professional."

Really? That's a pretty hard fail there. Wonder how it got through whatever checks exist before publishing, or maybe there just weren't any.

bonkysa · 27/01/2023 11:13

Hard pass. No way, very satisfied with my decision not to.

"Predatory" journals will pretty much publish anything as long as you pay and peer review is often non existent or superficial.

This has reminded me to email the journal about this paper because it shouldn't have been published, it's one that has no basis in evidence and has been heavily amplified by anti-vaccine groups.

When I see stuff like this I think it's no wonder trust in science and the scientific process has been lost.

Unfortunately thousands weren’t so lucky and died before the vaccine was available.

MechanicaHound · 27/01/2023 21:22

I thank God everyday that I didn't get any jabs.

XenoBitch · 27/01/2023 21:37

No, and I sincerely hope that now the vaccine program is winding down that there will be no peer pressure and accusations of "killing the vulnerable" coming up in conversation anymore.
I hope it will be ok to say you are unvaccinated without being shunned by everyone. I hope the "us and them" aspect of it fucks off.

Er, what exactly?

Er, unless you've been hiding nder a rock for the last 3 years I think you know.

A lot of people who are vaccinated in my friends and family and work are suffering all different types of health issues. Some very serious!

It's funny because that's just a total lie.

There must now be 100s of millions of people vaccinated and yet there are no studies showing this, despite nutters and dupes claiming the contrary.

I was the opposite - so pleased when family and friends had their vaccinations - particularly DH, a doctor working on a Covid ward, initially without sufficient PPE and pre vaccine.

From the NY Times

More than 5.51 billion people worldwide have received a dose of a Covid-19 vaccine, equal to about 71.8 percent of the world population.

Ineedcoffee2021 · 28/01/2023 12:44

nope
wont ever have it, i see no value and only harm in it

not even losing my job made me get it

tellmewhentheLangshiplandscoz · 28/01/2023 12:46

MaverickGooseGoose
The only reason I would get it is if god forbid they brought in travel restrictions and you need proof of vaccine status

They did this for about 2 years?

//

And to be fair, certainly on my travel insurance docs received yesterday, any Covid cover applicable will only kick in if you have evidence of having been vaccinated. So still helpful

Do they know you're using their misfortune to push an agenda? @Elleviss

I was diagnosed with a new health condition recently, if I knew some random aquaintance was using me in this way I'd be pretty cheesed off. Last vaccine was over a year ago, absolutely no reason to think they're in any way linked.

What reason did you have for all the new cancer/AI/diabetes/cardiac diagnoses in your social circle pre-2020?

This has been studied (properly, not just people copying and pasting stories they've heard on forums as third hand evidence) and there's absolutely nothing to suggest vaccines are linked to health issues in the way you're implying.

Leah5678 · 28/01/2023 12:47

Using their misfortune to push an agenda? What sort of an agenda? It's my personal experience of what I am witnessing first hand. They themselves believe it was the jab as they were fine before it.

I understand if you are worried and think it's a lie and think I am a nutter. I'm totally fine with those beliefs you have. And I hope you are right.

I'm not worried, at least not about the vaccine.

I am worried that people are being sucked into a pointless conspiracy, despite it being clearly untrue, and that those conspiracies make everyones lives more dangerous and, probably permanently, make more stupid and dangerous conspiracy theories more likely.

Not a cat in hells chance!
I have no regrets either as I listened to all the right people before it came out. And what I have personally seen happen is what they warned would happen.

What did happen then?

I have just seen things that worry me. And I worry about my family who took it. So I'm not going to go in to detail but I think both the vaccinated and the unvaccinated are worried. That is all I am going to say as I don't want to be dragged into anything to do with conspiracy theories.

JenniferBooth · 28/01/2023 14:10

My personal favourite is people who have had the vaccine being called anti vaxxers. Following the same logic im childfree by choice but im a mother

I was worried about myself, friends and family before we all had the vaccinations and boosters but huge relief when we’d had them.

As said before, I respect anyone's opinion or decision on vaccination.

That isn't the same thing as repeatedly posting misinformation which causes anxiety in people who have been vaccinated (see very recent thread) or scares people from being vaccinated who would benefit from a booster.

Misinformation helps no one, hence the replies to a thread that is full of it.

well what you’re posting is also misinformation and you’re giving your own biased opinion on a thread that was asking those who have not been vaccinated a question. Those who have weighed ups the risk and decided against it are not the same as anti vaxxers.
