What symptoms did you have and how long did it last for?

So sorry to hear about your baby, hope he makes a very speedy recovery.

I tested positive for the first time on Monday, together with our 3 year old daughter. Husband and 9 month old son tested positive on Wednesday. Husband had it before a year ago, and our daughter may have done too (it was all over her nursery).

In hindsight, my first symptom was achey legs on Saturday, then a headache and feeling off on Sunday afternoon. I tested when I started with a cough and flu symptoms on Monday. I then lost my voice for a couple of days, had a cough, a runny nose, aches and pains and tiredness. Today I only have the runny nose, a slight cough, and feeling a little bit breathless, especially if I bend down low. I’m trying to take it easy in the hope that resting now will pay off later, but still need to do stuff to look after the little ones and entertain them.

Really hope your baby is ok :-(

Has anyone experienced diarrhea with COVID? I've had it non stop today, two in the house are positive, I'm still negative. Wondering if it's an early symptom while still testing negative?

I have had a little, despite being off my food and not eating much. The worst thing has been fluctuating between hot and cold.

VortexofBloggery · 22/03/2023 01:41

I feel cold in the extremities. I've got less of an appetite too. I'll test again tomorrow, wasn't expecting diarrhea though and severity.

Banoffeepie21 · 22/03/2023 01:58

Hope you feel better soon. I’ve been taking paracetamol to help with the fever every few hours, and remembering to keep drinking a little water. The rest of my symptoms have just been typical coldy but not too bad.

Yes, my husband did, very badly when he got it last year and less so this year. He also took a few days to test positive on LFTs this year, even though he already clearly had it. Last year he never tested positive on LFTs, just on PCR. Hope you feel better soon!

neilyoungismyhero · 22/03/2023 02:21

First day tired then later that day nauseous. Went to bed and just kind of passed out - asleep. Woke up half a dozen times during evening/night violently sick each time. Slept at last for roughly 16 hours woke up had toast. Felt slightly rough for 3 days.
Tested positive for a week.
I had 6 jabs, the last one being a few days before.

Yes, and it and the smell was vile. This was just after I tested positive. I also had nausea and acid indigestion/heartburn.

Sunnysunbun · 22/03/2023 03:45

It’s so strange. Day one very runny nose, day two body aches, nausea, head ache and very dry nose. Today day three very runny nose again and even worse body aches. Shivers and then sweating again and again. It’s delightful.

Sunnysunbun · 22/03/2023 04:13

Also ear ache and loss of taste and smell. I’m sure some new symptom will turn up soon. Probably boils or locusts.

Yes, Me and my SIL have had terrible diarrhoea and gas with it. I never have gut issues, even with all of the bugs the children bring home. I have found eating kefir and more veggies helped.

platanenweg · 22/03/2023 04:23

I felt terrible so did a test, had a strong positive, the next day I had a faintish line and the following day It was clear. I've had it 3 times previously and I'm not vaccinated. I've tested positive for 8-10 days previously and it's been a gradual fade.

VortexofBloggery · 22/03/2023 13:26

Thanks everyone for responding with your experience. Hope you all perk up soon, too! I'm still negative, tummy settled a bit, but feel weird. I've been shut inside with all the COVID swirling around, I'm definitely fighting off something.

ChocSaltyBalls · 26/03/2023 21:58

got it for the second time just now.

felt shitty on Wednesday and wasn’t going to test but I found a box of a few tests in my desk. Felt fluey, slight sore throat. Tested negative.

was awake all night and felt feverish, snotty on Thursday. Tested Thursday night and was positive.

was just like a cold with a lot of snot and now I feel fine, just a bit tired.

It was different in some ways to when I had it last June. The throat was sorer then but I had no fever so didnt feel as ill. Runny nose/mucus was the same but I totally lost taste and smell last time. I couldn’t sleep the night before I tested positive last time which was what made me test again.

if I hadn’t tested again this time because of the insomnia I’d genuinely think it was just a cold. I feel pretty lucky to have got off so lightly twice but I guess 4 x vaccines have assisted.

It might be the mucus?

I didn't have any mucus with Covid.

Aching legs to start. Like cramp.
sore throat and sneezing.
Then a tickly cough
(tested negative three days on the trot for work).
Then couldn’t get warm at all, drifted off to sleep and woke feeling like I had the flu.
tested positive day 4 of testing.
That was Friday.
felt ok until today day 5 and have woken feeling worn out and exhausted, last night I couldn’t get warm at all.

I am vaccinated x3. Had covid 3 times. Take a lot of vitamins, eat well etc. I am 35.
Self employed and can’t work so I’m losing money 😢 and patience.

Super dizzy if I try and push myself, aka walk the dog.

midnightblue12 · 02/04/2023 22:28

Just feeling really urgh and fluey!

In fact I thought it was just that and then my taste went and at that point I thought "ahhhhhh shit" 🙈

Theglowofcandles · 03/04/2023 11:32

I'm on day 11 of symptoms. Tested positive day 6. Still positive today. I feel awful. Spent past 3 days in bed. Cannot shake it off at all. Started with scratchy throat, sore heads and feeling abit rubbish until 4 days ago where it hit me like a ton of bricks where my whole body aches, runny and stuffy nose, pounding headaches, awful ear ache, really painful sinuses, nausea, loss of appetite and generally no energy at all.

Manicule · 04/04/2023 09:41

I’ve got it currently. Started 13 days ago with a typical bad cold - scratchy throat, sneezing, streaming nose, feeling shivery. Tested negative for a solid week but felt rubbish, kept going (luckily not working though) because I was convinced from the tests I just had an especially bad cold. No loss of taste or smell. No fever. Just an awful 'cold' plus aches/pains.

Then a friend told me you need to do the tonsils as well with these new LFT kits despite the short swabs….and bingo. A very faint positive.

Was at least cheered up when my second post-positive test was even fainter, so it was probably on the way out. Just done another and the sodding thing is a solid red line. No idea what’s happening now. Can I go out, back to work? Am I still infectious? I have no idea 😫

Can’t believe any one still tests. It’s just another illness. I haven’t tested for at least a year

I think you're on the wrong thread. This is a support thread.

i had Covid in mid-December and am still suffering from post-viral fatigue which has just ruined and curtailed my holiday. It has been helpful to have tested for the purposes of months of sick notes, phased return to work, etc. And just to have a reason for all this!
