Tested positive yesterday evening when I thought I was literally going to die! Had a headache and cold symptoms I couldn't shift throughout the day. Had an early night but woke up with a 40.1 degree temperature and was shivering head to toe.
Managed to dodge covid.. until now. Hearing a lot of people catching it again.
It's horrible! The worst thing is the headache!
Anyone else currently have it?
How you feeling?

Oh and the hives have started. I always get hives after viral infection so hoping that means it's in the way out.

Galvantula · 12/07/2022 12:14

Day 4 here as well. Thought I was feeling better but the more I'm up and about the more tired and light headed I get.

Headache only intermittent now and taking my asthma reliever to help with cough bothering me.

I’m feeling the same today - the tiredness and lightheaded feeling is really bad today. Feels really, really weird.

CallOnMe · 12/07/2022 18:57

I don’t know how anyone copes with covid and young children.

Luckily my DD is a teen and I was able to lie down with my eyes closed and a damp flannel over my head whilst she sorted herself out.
I don’t think I could have physically taken care of a child.

AhaLyn · 12/07/2022 19:07

I just can’t get out of bed now.

WanderingFruitWonderer · 12/07/2022 20:40

I've just tested positive for the first time this evening. So far so good. Just floppy and sleepy. I actually thought it was the heat, and took a test as a precaution. Was very surprised by the result. Which is daft, as it's everywhere. The timing is rubbish for me, but isn't it always! I'm hoping it stays this mild, and that I get a negative result soon...

WanderingFruitWonderer · 12/07/2022 20:41

Flowers for those having a harder time with it

Izzy24 · 12/07/2022 20:50

Triple vaxxed and had long covid but expecting to get it again any time now. Husband went to a party at the weekend and host tested positive yesterday.

But even without that, nobody is wearing masks, nobody is social distancing ( even in a hospital I was in today) so …🤷‍♀️

We’ve just got to get used to it and hope it becomes enough like a cold for most of us to cope with it most of the time.

Rocky2022 · 12/07/2022 21:29

Day 4 since positive and finally starting to feel better. Still have a blocked nose but cough only intermittent now. Still not sleeping well though but could be the heat.

TinaWeymouthsBass · 13/07/2022 06:36

I’m day 3 yesterday was grim with fever but lemsip max every 4 hrs helped a lot, immunosuppressed dh now has antivirals so hopefully will start to feel better soon. I can cope with the flu symptoms but the fatigue is absolutely horrendous.

AhaLyn · 13/07/2022 08:08

Spent all day in bed. Headache gone. Cough started and throat now sore instead of scratchy and itchy.

WanderingFruitWonderer · 13/07/2022 08:24

Well, day 2. Woke up with a corker of a headache. But far less dizzy than yesterday. Drank some ginger juice (I'm all about natural remedies!) and headache largely gone. No appetite. Drinking my morning cuppa with soya milk, and it tastes so weird!
But all in all I seem to be having a very mild case. I think I caught it on the train, and so possibly a low viral load? I've started wearing masks on public transport again, which maybe helped?
So weird to finally get Covid after so long. I convinced myself I was one of those people who could never catch Covid! I was possibly feeling a bit cocky! 🤭 Humbled by my positive test. I think this new strain seems to be scooping up all the people who haven't had it yet. Get well soon one and all!

ijustcouldntthinkofausername · 13/07/2022 09:19

Day 5, I've woke up feeling ok actually. Still testing positive, not a faint line in the slightest.
I have a weird sensation in the back of my nose.
All I can describe it as it like you know when you go swimming and some chlorine water goes up your nose.. it's like that! Weird.
Have completely lost smell and taste altogether.

DS still poorly. Waiting for doc to call me back from 111 his temp went from one extreme to the other last night from 38 down to 35 he was pale, cold and clammy. I managed to get it back up to normal temp but it was very scary!

I called 111 at 8:20pm and was told I will get a call back from doctor. I've since had a call back at 4:30am and 9am to apologise for the delay!!!
More than 13 hours ago I called concerned.
They must be rushed off their feet it's crazy!

Day 4 for me and, whilst I still have the same symptoms, I feel a little brighter. Think I slept better, although my cough woke me up a few times. Unloaded the dishwasher this morning and had to sit down for an hour after so still feeling really tired but am hoping this will be the beginning of feeling better.

AhaLyn · 13/07/2022 10:00

Does anyone else have a funny feeling in ears? Not quite blocked but sort of a plugged ringing? This virus is very weird

Happyinshoes · 13/07/2022 10:09

Currently lying in bed with air con blasting. Fever of 40, headache, whole body aches and nausea. Coughing+++
I'm also in the height of caffeine withdrawals due to nausea🙄
Sleeping a lot and very lethargic but weirdly I have insomnia at night. I'm day 2 positive and triple vaxxed. We had a trip booked to my home country which obviously is now cancelled

sunflowerandivy · 13/07/2022 11:26

Day 2 for me and feel absolutely fine. A really mild chesty cough. Had a temperature of 40 overnight but fine now. Headache has gone. Maybe it'll get worse?

Magic1231 · 13/07/2022 12:54

@AhaLyn Yes I have that, its awful. How many days have you had it? I did not anticipate feeling this bad xxx

AhaLyn · 13/07/2022 13:20

@Magic1231 This is the third day. The second day was awful, couldn’t move my head without banging headache and dizziness. Slept all day. I know I’m a bit shocked at how bad I was yesterday. Tiny bit better today, raging headache has gone. How are you with it? Flowers

Magic1231 · 13/07/2022 13:24

Well I'm glad you've made a little improvement atleast. I started with a scratchy throat friday and thought nothing much of it, until I got worse and did a test yesterday. I still dont feel any better, really didnt expect to feel this bad! The headache is awful isnt it, I'm still on paracetamol every 4 hours xxx

WanderingFruitWonderer · 13/07/2022 18:38

Yes, the headache is definitely the worst part for me. Other than that I'm not too bad. I'm getting cold shivers, though that's a bit of a blessing in this heat. No appetite at all. Which is most unusual for me, as I'm normally such a foodie!

WanderingFruitWonderer · 13/07/2022 18:39

Btw, I'm taking NAC, which is known to get it out of the system sooner. I recommend it if you can get hold of some

AhaLyn · 13/07/2022 19:02

@WanderingFruitWonderer whats NAC? Thanks

does anyone else feel weak? I felt better today so tried to get on with it a bit more but when I exert myself even in a light way - stairs, making food - I feel faint and strange.

AhaLyn · 13/07/2022 19:03

@Magic1231 yes same, still on the paracetamol. Hope you improve tomorrow, lots of sleep seems to help xx

Ginajo · 13/07/2022 19:04

I'm on about day 6 I think. I haven't had a headache but feel very breathless and absolutely exhausted. And very low emotionally. Am very tearful for no reason.
