Tested positive yesterday evening when I thought I was literally going to die! Had a headache and cold symptoms I couldn't shift throughout the day. Had an early night but woke up with a 40.1 degree temperature and was shivering head to toe.
Managed to dodge covid.. until now. Hearing a lot of people catching it again.
It's horrible! The worst thing is the headache!
Anyone else currently have it?
How you feeling?

As far as I can see the booster is a complete waste of time. No difference in severity between people who have had it those who haven’t.

lovescats3 · 20/08/2022 20:08

There is a difference I now have heart problems and dread to think what I would be like without the booster

SOWK · 21/08/2022 20:39

Can I join you? First covid infection, I thought I was going to avoid it. I got a positive test on day 3 of symptoms. I have a raging temperature, headache and raspy throat. I’m feeling a bit anxious because I have hashimotos thyroid and I really don’t want this to turn into long covid. I also feel guilty about the likelihood of passing this onto DH and the DC.

ijustcouldntthinkofausername · 21/08/2022 23:35

Get well soon @SOWK xxx

Wow it finally got me too. I didn't get it when DH had it a few months ago but just tested positive. Runny nose, mild headache and fatigue are my worst symptoms, plus tinnitus. Slight sore throat and I also have some small dark bruises on inner arms that seem a bit weird for me so might be Covid related.., I'm fully vaxxed.

Squidlydoo · 22/08/2022 08:13

I’ve tested positive this week for the first time too (wednesday). Symptoms have been mostly mild - snotty and fatigue although I have also had really bad insomnia for the last few nights which I’m not sure is covid linked. Heart rate registers quite high til around 3am and I just can’t sleep.

its annoying that I’m now on day 5 and while the symptoms haven’t been painful (or bad compared to other illnesses), I just don’t feel like I’m getting any better. Frustrating as it’s really messing with my family’s summer holidays!! Arghhh

LadyEloise1 · 22/08/2022 08:47

How soon after a dose of Covid could you realistically get it again I wonder ?

artfulapril · 22/08/2022 17:22

I'm triple jabbed and gave had it really bad, having avoided it these past couple of years too. I tested positive on lfts for 10 flippin days! Eventually tested negative last wednesday but still very fatigued if I do anything , swollen glands, achey limbs snd persistent tickly cough. Nausea most days. I'm trying to eat healthily though still gave no appetite and limited taste and smell. I've lost a stone.

How long dies it take to actually recover? Very fed up of this now.

CocktailNapkin · 22/08/2022 19:44

I tested positive about three weeks ago and cleared the bulk of the messy stuff in about a week. But man the fatigue since! I did a short workout Friday - gentle moves and breathing - and had to sleep a bunch on Saturday. A friend said it took about 3 or 4 weeks to stop feeling "weary" when walking. I think I see what he's saying, but I am so ready for bed every night about 8 and then sleeping from 10 to 7 or so. I dragged myself through last week at work and have no energy to do anything, or much of an appetite.

On the plus side my sense of smell has returned. Im hoping energy will come back soon too!

I had it a month ago and still feel like this some days. It comes and goes. I didn’t have Covid badly, but thought I was over it and then the symptoms just come back. No appetite, nausea, swollen glands. Fatigue. Ready for bed about 8 pm!

orangina01 · 23/08/2022 08:42

I also tested positive last Wednesday for the first time and have found it really hard going. Had almost every symptom in the "Covid" book, seemingly one after the other. Now still totally wiped out and the nausea is unreal. Barely eating so have lost five pounds. Trying to work but the fog and nausea are really affecting me. Just want to feel better but judging by other posts guess it takes time 😭.

passmesonetea · 23/08/2022 10:51

I avoided it til now.
I can't cope with all the symptoms but the nausea is awful.
Just sat in bed because if I move I feel too sick
Also have type 1 diabetes so don't know if that's making it worse or not. I'm on day 3 of symptoms but felt awful a few days before too bad headaches and insomnia

SOWK · 23/08/2022 18:50

It’s hideous isn’t it. Definitely not just like a bad cold. I’m on day 4 and I still have a fever.

ChickenBurgers · 24/08/2022 12:44

This is our household this week. I got ill Friday, middle and youngest Sunday and partner Monday. Eldest has avoided it thus far. We all seem to of had 2 days of feeling awful then been fine. My nose is sore though which is weird as I didn’t have a runny nose or anything. How long are people isolating for? I know I can go out after tomorrow, but are people waiting until they’re negative? I’m stuck between wanting to get out with the kids so they can enjoy the last of their holidays or waiting until we test negative, which could take another 7 or so days 🫠

LadyEloise1 · 24/08/2022 16:40

Does anyone know how soon after having Covid could you catch it again ?

ijustcouldntthinkofausername · 24/08/2022 19:14

Seems everyone is different obviously. I was really I'll on day 1 and 2, rough on day 3 and 4 then fine after that. My DS 17m seems to have never got rid of the cough though it's stayed with him. Although cough was never one of my symptoms. Strange

Hope you all feel better soon xx Flowers

@ijustcouldntthinkofausername thanks lovely. My eldest who has managed to avoid it all week has tested positive this morning now 🫠 almost a week after I got it!! He has no symptoms thankfully. He was relishing in being “the last man standing” and the only reason he tested this morning to reaffirm his last man standing title bless him.

we’re all very very bored cooped up in the house now as the kids and me are all fine. Only thing bothering me is it feels like I’ve snorted swimming pool water, but that’s much better this morning. Partners headache has returned today and he’s full of cold, but he’s working from home so would be cooped up in the house covid or not. The rest of us are going slowly mad though! Xx

ijustcouldntthinkofausername · 25/08/2022 19:18

@ChickenBurgers funny you should say that I posted the exact thing in here a while back I felt as though like when you go swimming and chlorine water goes up your nose!
Thankfully that went though!

I'm now testing negative, hurrah! Mine turned out to be very mild. Two days of fatigue. A bit of congestion and sneezing but nothing more than a mild cold. No fever or cough, and I think my first symptom may have been a rash on my neck....

Full immunity now right? Wink (if only!)

ImAvingOops · 28/08/2022 08:10

Hi all, am reluctantly joining this club! Am about 5 days in since symptoms started. Have had the achey, fluey feeling but the sore throat kicked in yesterday - it's like burning razor blades!
Just wanted to say that the best painkillers for me are the ones with aspirin and paracetamol combined, if that helps anyone.
My parents both have it too but much worse than me - mum has lost feeling in the nerves in her hands and feet. And of course it's a bank holiday weekend and it's easier to find hen's teeth than a doctor!

SOWK · 28/08/2022 20:32

This is day 9 and I’m still completely shattered. The covid test went negative on day 6 but I’m exhausted and need multiple naps each day.

Blizzardbeach · 29/08/2022 05:04

I actually read your post and thought, I best go and get another test.
Sore throat and headachey, felt a bit like a hayfever sore throat with a touch of asthma flare up.
Tested negative yesterday. Just after midnight, very bright positive.
I know I shouldn't be but I've layered up and up because of the shivers!
The headache is bad, throat is constant annoyance lol.

SilverLiningPlaybook · 29/08/2022 17:16

I got it a month ago. I’m now feeling really unwell, as though I have flu. Surely I can’t have it again?!!

Freedomismine75 · 29/08/2022 23:39

I am not vaccinated....to.many people having health issues after thus experimental injection....this is second tone for me 1st time hardly any symptoms now on day7 felt like bad cold been travelling eating sleeping no fever scratchy throat blocked nose bit tired just the appetite wasn't there ...today day 7 tested out of curiosity its negative feel good today .....so No being unvaccinated is actually not killing people we are beating covid much faster as my own immune system is workings 100%....many people saying ,,glad I had 3 or 4 vax or it could be worsed,,,no that's not the case vax people getting covid and suffering more then unvac thats the fact.just saying that as I see people commenting that being unvaccinated they be worst off....the answer is u be probably better off your immune system would get rid of covid much faster.....good luck to everyone

Cavvies · 30/08/2022 06:31

@Freedomismine75 you know that the whole point of the vaccine is that it makes your own immune system kick in don’t you??

that is the fact
