Tested positive yesterday evening when I thought I was literally going to die! Had a headache and cold symptoms I couldn't shift throughout the day. Had an early night but woke up with a 40.1 degree temperature and was shivering head to toe.
Managed to dodge covid.. until now. Hearing a lot of people catching it again.
It's horrible! The worst thing is the headache!
Anyone else currently have it?
How you feeling?

Triple vaxed and tested positive for 1st time this week.paracetamol taken regularly barely brought temperature down, sore throat sneezing, uncontrollable coughing, intermittent weird pains in feet and numb fingers.startng to feel better but legs feel weak and head a bit spaced out.
Meryl squeak don't feel guilty about work noone wants covid for summer holidays and it's the end of term.
Hope everyone feels better soon.
Am slightly apprehensive about winter if it's this rife during summer when we are all outdoors more

emmetgirl · 10/07/2022 17:58

Same here. I'd escaped it until 2 weeks ago!

Nimo12 · 10/07/2022 18:09

Me too. Triple vaxxed and it but me like a truck. Definitely not like any cold I've had. Felt terrible for about 6 days and only just starting to feel normal again on day 9. Still so tired though and will be skipping exercise this week.

Rocky2022 · 10/07/2022 20:09

First time for me too. Biggest issue bad phelmy cough along with sore throat, muscle aches and diarrhoea and snotty nose Sleep pattern all over the place.
Tested positive yesterday but symptoms started on Friday

78Summer · 11/07/2022 00:06

Mine lasted 11 days. Started with flu like aches and pains. Then I felt kind of okay. Then it hit my sinuses - they felt like they were burning; horribly congested. Lost taste for a couple of days. Slightly chesty. Then I got an upset stomach and nausea. Plus awful leg cramps. The fatigue has been awful. I am now day 11 and tested negative but will continue to rest when I can. It is a horrid weird virus. Wishing you all well.

A magnesium supplement before bed is great for leg cramps. I'm so sorry to read about your covid journey. I hope you feel better soon. Its a weird virus alright.

How strange a few of you have mentioned the pain in the leg. I had this on the night I tested positive it was a strange pain on the back of my leg (behind one of my knees in the crease). I started to panic thinking it was thrombosis! But it didn't last too long and I'd since forgotten about it until I saw a couple of you had mentioned the leg pain.
Weird...

What are your employers saying? Staff off or go in?

My DS 16 months has tested positive this morning and my vulnerable DM doesn't want to risk catching it so he's with me this week. Im going to call my manager this morning to explain, hopefully he understands..

Work tell us to work from home with a positive COVID test (all other germs are perfectly fine to take in and spread around though) I'm actually off sick though.

ijustcouldntthinkofausername · 10/07/2022 08:31

My goodness !
I thought you meant day 6 until I read on.
Are you a health care worker?
That's crazy I don't know anyone who's caught it more than twice never mind 6
😧

I'm immunosuppressed which means the vaccines don't work quite as well for me in terms of protecting against getting infected, but it seems as if they definitely help with protecting against serious illness!

How are you today OP?

Madhairday · 11/07/2022 11:35

Same here OP, had avoided it up til now (was careful as CEV) and tested positive on Thursday. Have been very ill indeed but a slight upturn today after hospital admission.

fishingpaintings · 11/07/2022 11:50

I've tested positive today, first time. Feels more like flu - my skin feels really tender and my joints ache. No runny nose at all but my throat is so mucusy that I keep coughing.

We were away at the weekend and I felt weird Saturday night, really nauseous and not hungry which is very unlike me.

Fingers crossed for a fast recovery for you all. The thought of doing anything at all right now seems a bit far off.

My legs hurt even when on my mattress. I can’t describe it. They’re also very restless.

Mybeautifulfriend22 · 11/07/2022 12:16

How’s everyone doing?
day 4: awful sleep woke up sweating and actually wet after only 2 hours sleep.
dry cough is still awful almost croupy at times. Throat is sore as sometimes I’m coughing till I’m nearly sick and it’s all upper airway. I’m coughing less tho.
Nose isn’t runny now just snotty.
I feel knackered and emotional not sure if that’s the covid or the fact I’ve hardly slept in days. No energy after I’ve done a small thing like make brekkie.
Aches are still there but more manageable. Still needing painkillers to help feel more human.

Mybeautifulfriend22 · 11/07/2022 12:17

Should of added I do feel less ‘full of it’ and not as rough but very symptomatic still.

SleepingAgent · 11/07/2022 12:45

Also checking in as a first timer, triple vaxxed. Been knocked sideways by the fatigue, barely able to do anything without completely exhausted afterwards.
Also got nasty muscle aches/burning sensation mostly lower back and legs. Means I'm not sleeping well either as can't get comfy even with painkillers.
It's worse than I expected from description of "bad cold" you hear about.

StartupRepair · 11/07/2022 13:01

Two weeks in still very hoarse and croaky and coughing.

hownowpurplecow · 11/07/2022 13:03

Frontline healthcare worker and tested positive for the first time on Saturday! Double shit because todays my birthday and the weather is beautiful, but I’m tossing and turning in bed trying to rest. Cough and sinuses blocked and weird waves of disorientation, sleeping terribly plus I’m 6 months pregnant & have a 2 year old at home with me. I’ve never known exhaustion like it and have cried several times today. Hoping it passes soon, I’m off sick this week & possibly next. Luckily my employer is very supportive & has been throughout my pregnancy.

JustDanceAddict · 11/07/2022 13:21

First time here for a confirmed test as I think I had it in March 2020.
Sore throat all weekend, felt worse today so tested.
Hoping it’s going to be mild and over quickly. It seems to vary so much.

WhiteFire · 11/07/2022 13:30

I'm just exhausted. I'm going for a sleep in a bit.

XenoBitch · 11/07/2022 14:10

Day 10 here. Took a test and it was negative. No symptoms now apart from the very occasional cough.

kumquattish · 11/07/2022 14:41

I tested positive for the first time last week. It started off quite mild, but really ramped up after a couple of days. I was then bed-bound and still totally wiped out after 3 days in bed.

What's been the worst for me has the occipital neuralgia, this sort of very sharp spawning pain in the side and back of my head. I was woken up every 10-30 mins or so from it in the night. It seems to be getting more manageable now, after 3 bad days of it.

Lots of love to everyone going through this. It's really shitty.

Karmatime · 11/07/2022 15:34

I tested positive on Friday though symptoms started Wednesday. Today is the first day I’ve started to feel better, throat is less sore and I’m not feverish. I’m still totally wiped out though and have no energy. I’m not going to bother testing until Wednesday as I’m still holed up at home.

nailsathome · 11/07/2022 15:45

Day 4 here and I feel so ill! I want to crawl out of my body and come back when it's done covid'ing. I'm so hot, I hate being hot!
