Tested positive yesterday evening when I thought I was literally going to die! Had a headache and cold symptoms I couldn't shift throughout the day. Had an early night but woke up with a 40.1 degree temperature and was shivering head to toe.
Managed to dodge covid.. until now. Hearing a lot of people catching it again.
It's horrible! The worst thing is the headache!
Anyone else currently have it?
How you feeling?

Tested + this morning so far scratchy throat and a bit woozy 😵‍💫

JanisMoplin · 11/07/2022 16:18

Day 4 and I feel back to normal, except for some fatigue. My elderly mum also has covid but her symptoms are mild too, and limited to a low fever and fatigue. Thank you booster shots!

ijustcouldntthinkofausername · 11/07/2022 17:15

I do feel a lot better today than I was. However I am still aching and the headache comes back once paracetamol wear off so I'm still having to keep on top of it but other than that I'm not half as bad. However my DS 16 months tested positive this morning 🥺 he's really struggling.

Im struggling to get his temp down, I’ve got air con on, he’s had calpol and nurofen throughout the day, I’ve given him 2 cool baths, he barely drinking water and barely eating. His temp hovering between 38 and 39. I’ve called docs they said I’m doing all I can and I just need to watch out for dry nappies or overly lethargic 😔 poor boy. He’s very clingy, won’t let me put him down and is just moaning a lot. I’m hoping today is the worst it’s going to be.
🤞

Same here OP, had avoided it up til now (was careful as CEV) and tested positive on Thursday. Have been very ill indeed but a slight upturn today after hospital admission.

@Madhairday glad to hear you're starting to pick up now Flowers

feel knackered and emotional

Im not so much emotional as bloody angry to have it. I can’t explain it but I’m raging.

whenwillthemadnessend · 11/07/2022 18:20

Finally got me too after a busy week I knew it was coming.

Felt finally relieved I can say it's here. Fed up of life on tenterhooks tho I know some that have had it a few times.

Me too. Particularly as I know it was my own stupid fault for taking the mask off on the packed bus when I felt a bit travel sick. Dh kept his on and is fine.

TinaWeymouthsBass · 11/07/2022 18:38

Dh who's CEV was feverish for a couple of days but is recovering really quickly and feels normal now on day 5, dd 18 also CEV was poorly for 24hrs but now fine so 🤞I'll be the same, I'm triple vaxed and they are both quadruple vaxed.

Ginajo · 11/07/2022 18:40

I'd also avoided it but am on day 4 now. My first symptom was terrible joint pain in my hips and knees, I thought I'd perhaps overdone it walking, and extreme fatigue. I then got a sore throat and temperature. Now it's more like symptoms of a head cold, and my chest is tight and I'm really breathless. No cough though. I don't feel too bad other than extreme tiredness. If I try to do anything I quickly have to give up and sit down.

It's not like any cold I've ever experienced. The fatigue is overwhelming. I can't imagine what it might have been like before vaccinations.

I have the hip pain. Can hardly bare to lie down.

this is actually the second time I’ve had it. The first was in Feb 2020 when I had a winter holiday in Italy and Switzerland. It was awful. This dose is as well but it’s a very different awful. And I only tested the second time, a day after the first test, to satisfy my curiosity. I was thinking well if it’s not Covid what is it. It was Covid.

I got it from my son who’s severely autistic who must have got it at the gym because he doesn’t really go anywhere else. And when he’s there he’s with his carers and trainer only. But my son in law who’s a Dr said there's just no point in playing detective because so many people have it and are symptom free.

Just got over it after picking it up after dodging it all this time too, hope you feel better soon.

I'm sorry you are feeling unwell OP.

However the comment I quoted I quickly glanced and read "picking it up after dogging all this time too", and I chuckled at my own misreading when I realised 🤣 sorry to de-rail lol.

whenwillthemadnessend · 11/07/2022 19:30

I went to a theatre show with audience singing etc Tuesday. I wore a mask but most people didn't.

I was very aware that I would catch covid (never had it to my knowledge previously) at this event but risked it anyway so I was super vigilant for symptoms.

12 hours later my sinuses felt tingly
24 hours later I had a headache

48 hours later cough irritated throat but some Mucus Think all bronchial not lower.

Then a day of cough but worse on waking plus a bad bout of diarrhoea not tummy pain with it tho. Just trots.

I then tested
Negative test

Sleeping like the dead no temp no sore throat yet

5 days in aching hips. Foggy head fatigue. Another negative test

In day six now. Only tested positive today!!!! Feel a lot better today if I'm honest.

God knows how many I could
If infected before testing positive.

Yes it is absolutely rife at the moment. However I think it was ds who gave it to me as he has a very faint positive last night and this morning was totally clear so he was probably on the way out having given it to everyone else. He had had no symptoms at all.

wishingitwasfriday · 12/07/2022 07:26

I felt much better yesterday as the aches had subsided, but slept all morning and then lay is the sofa the rest of the day. Woke this morning and it's properly gone to my chest. I have asthma (very well controlled) and am concerned at how bad my chest sounds. If I try and take a slightly deeper breath I start with the hacking cough.
Like others I feel very emotional, can cry at anything.
Have no appetite but am trying to eat a little and making sure I drink lots of water.
Taking sudofed seems to be helping with the congestion issues but my noise is streaming this morning.
Took an lft again this morning as was curious and it was a dark line within seconds, so still very positive. But then it's only day 3 for me.
Wishing everyone all the best and hoping we all feel better soon.

My symptoms were the worst on day 3, they peaked that night when I woke up a sweaty high temp achy mess. But yesterday despite little to no sleep I felt better. Today is day 5 and I’ve finally slept, the aches are still there but so much better, but sniffly and coughing still but not as forceful or often. Trying to reduce off the pain relief now. I’m tired and defo not much energy but The tide has turned. I test to go back to work and it’s very much a dark line still.
it’s interesting the emotional thing cos I spent Sunday crying. Just thought I was being a wuss!

AhaLyn · 12/07/2022 09:27

Gosh I think I have had it twice or more but have never tested positive. I went to a busy town on the weekend and since yesterday had a sniffle and fatigue, wow today the most awful headache Sad

ijustcouldntthinkofausername · 12/07/2022 09:31

Had a tough night with DS 16months.
All day yesterday was a battle to get his temp down, I was having to alternate between calpol and nurofen. He was pretty much unsettled and restless all through the night, congested and hot to the touch. But he just wanted to be held that's the only way I could get him down.
Day 4 for me now and I still have a fuzzy head, I know the headache will come back if I don't keep on top of the paracetamol, also aching joints. And I'm truly shattered from no sleep more than anything. Hard work having covid and looking after a baby with covid too 😩

@ijustcouldntthinkofausername save. Day 2 for me. Chesty cough and fuzzy head. 4 yo and 6 month old both have it. I'm going to bed at 7:30 when they do. Still sharing with my 6 month old. Husband wfh but has a demanding job

fishingpaintings · 12/07/2022 10:00

Woke up feeling absolutely fine, after eating breakfast I was back to being a sweaty headachey mess. Dark dark line on the antigen test today after yesterday's faint line.

If anybody needs me I'll be with my feet in a bucket of iced water 😂

easyday · 12/07/2022 10:02

As far as I know I have escaped too. It a friend I met last week now had it and a houseguest from last weekend has just told me she has it! Both have had it before, both are triple backed. Neither felt/feel that bad. I'm crossing my fingers!

AhaLyn · 12/07/2022 10:07

Ugh but better after paracetamol. I keep going to get up and flopping back on the sofa Blush

RunAwayNow · 12/07/2022 10:12

Also have it for the first time after 2.5 years. On day 4 today and starting to feel better. Day 3 was definitely the worst - I've never felt so weird. Today it just feels like a cold. Feeling quite lucky as a lot of people seem to be really suffering with it.

whenwillthemadnessend · 12/07/2022 11:55

Day six here

Feel ok just tired. Bit tight chesty but cough stopped.

Can't tell if it's the heat or covid making me tired as in south east and it's bloody roasting.
