Tested positive yesterday evening when I thought I was literally going to die! Had a headache and cold symptoms I couldn't shift throughout the day. Had an early night but woke up with a 40.1 degree temperature and was shivering head to toe.
Managed to dodge covid.. until now. Hearing a lot of people catching it again.
It's horrible! The worst thing is the headache!
Anyone else currently have it?
How you feeling?

Day 6 or 7 for me and I thought I was on the mend but I seem to have had a bit of a downward turn since lunchtime.

Sleepyquest · 13/07/2022 19:29

Day 3 and suddenly have bad tummy cramps. Could this be covid or something I've eaten? Feel just sniffly aside from this

fishingpaintings · 13/07/2022 19:47

Day 3 (but actually day 5 I think if I'm counting my Saturday night weird spell as part of this):
Woke feeling a lot stronger, managed to do some stretches and make breakfast but then had to go back to bed for a nap. This afternoon I felt stronger but my chest has been hurting all day, and now I'm starting to feel really bunged up. My teeth hurt.

Evenings seem to be my worst time - awful nausea or reflux-type stomach pains kick in and I can't do much beyond lie down with a grumpy face because I don't want to be feeling this rubbish!

Still able to smell and taste...

I feel tonnes better than I did on Monday though so trying just to focus on it getting better not worse.

My son had tummy cramps as did my daughter and granddaughter.

@AhaLyn NAC is a supplement N-Acetyl Cysteine. It's believed to help the body fight Covid (and other viruses) so it's worth a try. It seems to be helping me, as apart from the awful headache, I'm getting off quite lightly. Of course that could be a coincidence. But I guess it can do no harm.
It sounds like you're going through it. I hope you feel better soon

whenwillthemadnessend · 13/07/2022 20:47

Day 7 feel loads better. Not tested but cough pretty much gone Very slight Nasel symptoms. Managed to do a lot of house jobs without stopping every five mins Took dog out.

Will test tomz 🤞

AhaLyn · 13/07/2022 20:54

@WanderingFruitWonderer thank you, you too.

WanderingFruitWonderer · 14/07/2022 09:45

Urgh, day 3 and the dreaded nausea has kicked in, and on/off tummy pains. I'm actually finding this worse than the other symptoms. My headache has gone though! So that's a relief. Such an odd virus. I can't believe I thought I was one of those super immune people who could never get it! This new strain is so contagious that it's very hard to avoid unfortunately

TinaWeymouthsBass · 14/07/2022 10:29

Day 4 for me, nausea and diarrhoea along with absolutely no taste of smell, still exhausted but managed to stand in the garden with a hosepipe and water my half dead plants now having to rest again, I've had enough now just want it to end🙄

JenniferAlisonPhilipaSue · 14/07/2022 11:21

day 8 and cough nearly away but no sense of taste or smell and still lacking in energy. Don't think I've ever felt so ill.
First holiday in nearly 3 years completely ruined by it too.

Yeah, I want it to be over. I'm a terrible patient, and am rarely ill, so it's really knocked the wind out of my sails. I'm nothing like as ill as some on this thread, so should count my blessings. But I'm fed up, especially as it's so hot. Though viruses don't like heat, so maybe that's a good thing...

TinaWeymouthsBass · 14/07/2022 12:03

@WanderingFruitWonderer
exactly how I feel, I'm never I'll.... never had flu and can't remember the last time I had a cold, it's also costing me a fortune as I'm just parked on the couch internet shopping!

AhaLyn · 14/07/2022 12:05

Day 4 for me - diarrhoea ugh although that could be too much magnesium last night. Cough and just feeling crappy now. Strange aches and shooting pains, anyone else had shooting pains? Really quite painful and scary when they came on.

AhaLyn · 14/07/2022 12:06

Hope everyone feels better soon - sleep, rest, plenty of water and vitamin c has helped me so far. Brew Flowers

Bless you @TinaWeymouthsBass funnily enough, I've been doing a spot of online perusing! Not made a purchase yet, but probably will, before the day's end - to cheer myself up! I would love to do some serious reading while isolating, but can't concentrate, due to brain fog...

I've been getting some really weird sudden shoulder pains. So strange.
I second your hope that everyone feels better soon. I also am finding baths helpful...

Ginajo · 14/07/2022 12:51

Most of my other symptoms have eased today (day 7) but I now feel incredibly nauseous and light headed. Slightly upset tummy too. This really is a nasty virus. I can't read because my vision seems blurred.

Yes!! Odd stabbing pains, mainly groin and feet?!

AhaLyn · 14/07/2022 13:57

@WanderingFruitWonderer Yeah I had really horrible shooting pains in both feet last night. I felt like a baby; it made me cry!! Little things like taking lids off things have hurt! Slowly easing. Really a strange set of symptoms. Well, nothing I’ve experienced before with cold or a flu.

Aww, I'm sorry. That sounds awful. Some of the symptoms are a bit scary aren't they? I'm guessing we've all got the Omicron BA 5? I lose track of all the ever-growing list of strains?!

AhaLyn · 14/07/2022 14:35

@WanderingFruitWonderer I know, no sooner as I read about 5 there was another added b.275 or something. Maybe it has some added delightful symptoms!

Yes, I think I heard something about the 275! I don't know how they come up with them. I would have thought 6 would be the most logical number for the latest strain?! 🤷

KOKOagainandagain · 14/07/2022 16:57

So many first timers are triple vaxed and feeling crap - but consoling themselves they would be worse if not triple vaxed? Are you sure? The latest narrative is that vaccination protects against severe illness and death but not infection and therefore feeing crap. Unvaccinated DS2 is currently ill with covid symptoms following 6th form transition events but not greatly effected so it is in the house but unvaccinated DS1 is fine and 1st vaccination me is fine. Would it be worse if we were triple vaccinated?

Who knows? I know I'd rather be triple vaccinated than not vaccinated at all, but as no-one is forcing anyone to get vaccinated it's up to the individual. I do know that my friend and my colleagues who work in ICU look after more unvaccinated people than vaccinated, so I'm happy to be in the latter camp given that there's nothing medically stopping me from having the vaccine.

Madhairday · 14/07/2022 17:18

Day 8 for me and I've got a chest infection, cough getting worse (underlying condition though). I don't feel any better and I am so fed up.

To pp, yes, I am very grateful for the vaccine. I'm in the CEV group and with how sick I've been with it I have no doubt I'd be much worse without the vaccine (doctor said this too at the hospital).
