Tested positive yesterday evening when I thought I was literally going to die! Had a headache and cold symptoms I couldn't shift throughout the day. Had an early night but woke up with a 40.1 degree temperature and was shivering head to toe.
Managed to dodge covid.. until now. Hearing a lot of people catching it again.
It's horrible! The worst thing is the headache!
Anyone else currently have it?
How you feeling?

I started feeling ill on Tuesday night. Tested negative Wednesday morning and then positive this morning. It’s quite weird seeing the lines come up after so many negative tests. I was away with a group over the weekend. None of them have got it so far.

Wookey123 · 28/07/2022 21:43

Well another negative test today despite falling asleep this morning and this afternoon in the car (not driving) had 8 hrs sleep (unheard of) woke up at 8 am and fell asleep again until 9.20. Hope u all feel better very soon..

TheQueensCousin · 29/07/2022 13:15

Antivirals being sent out this afternoon. 🤞🏼 I feel better soon.

Sweetpea84 · 29/07/2022 15:24

Hey guys. Hope you’re all doing ok. Day 5 for me I’m out of bed but still have to keep lying down. Managed some housework but I was getting the sweats and feeling exhausted so still can’t do much. Hope this isn’t going to drag on for too much longer!

EachandEveryone · 29/07/2022 15:40

Im day 8 today and Ive had enough now. Still massively testing positive and I dont expect it to read negative for a long time. Im just exhausted. Its the runs as well. The cough has never been an issue just aches and pains. Im really missing work and feel like a fraud.

KatharineofAragon · 29/07/2022 16:13

I’m on day three and have been up and dressed every day. I had to go to bed early last night and lie on the bed in the afternoon for a while on day one. I’ve been doing the washing and hanging things on the line but I feel quite shit.
the coughing comes and goes and my back hurts.
The main thing is I just cannot eat. I have two mouthfuls and then get indigestion and feel sick.

FlippinOmicron · 29/07/2022 17:20

Tested negative finally. 🎉
Out for a walk today in a tourist area.
One of the foreign tourists who was with her friend says to me in a shop "You're beautiful". Just that, softly l, as we passed each other.
I could have hugged her - I was feeling lousy after Covid, hair unwashed, 2 stone overweight.
I know she needs to go to Specsavers but it was so nice. Smile

How absolutely lovely. What would the world be like if we all gave compliments like that to strangers? Wow.

FlippinOmicron · 29/07/2022 19:56

@KatharineofAragon
I agree. So so kind.
She went back to her cruise ship never knowing how good she made me feel after Covid.
But obviously her eyesight wasn't the best. Smile
Another older lady had said my dress was lovely as she passed me on the street.
2 compliments from 2 strangers within half an hour.
Last week I was imprisoned at home with Covid feeling very sorry for myself.
Wishing you all a speedy recovery.

Clippityclod · 29/07/2022 22:17

Day 8 and tested negative for the first time. I've been hit with a wall of tearfulness this evening. Wtf? Feeling very weary and teary. Muscles feel like jello.

Pay it forward and do the same for two other people.

FlippinOmicron · 30/07/2022 00:15

@KatharineofAragon
I will.

FlippinOmicron · 31/07/2022 10:25

I just read that Joe Biden has tested positive again after "rebound" infection.
Apparently he was being treated with anti viral medication Paxlovid but it can happen even if you are not on anti viral medication.
Feck - I thought I had 4 months of "freedom" after having Covid. I didn't think you could be reinfected so soon after your initial infection. AghhhhhhSad

crappens · 31/07/2022 10:37

Day 7 here and still testing positive within seconds of placing the drops on the lateral flow test. I felt 90% better on day 5 and 6 and thought I'd got off lightly. But today I woke up exhausted and feeling like I've swallowed razor blades. Emotionally I'm low and stressed as I probably won't be able to work this week. I'm self-employed and need the money. Sad

KatharineofAragon · 31/07/2022 10:41

This what I am finding. You think you're over it and the next day there is something else. My stomach has been really upset, I can't eat much and when I do I get indigestion. I have rib pain and a strange pain in the middle of my shoulder blades. I can't wear a bra at all. Coughing had completely stopped, then started again a bit last night.

He wasn't reinfected, he was still infected. It was just suppressed while he took the medication but it still needs to run its course.

FlippinOmicron · 02/08/2022 12:21

Ah @TurmericFan** thank you for the explanation.

TheQueensCousin · 04/08/2022 10:11

Day 10 and still showing a faint positive on LFT. That side I still feel rubbish and I've now finished antivirals but not the antibiotics 😢

crappens · 04/08/2022 18:35

@TheQueensCousin Day 10 here too and my positive is almost as dark as the first day I tested. Wondering how long my body is going to take to clear this thing.

How is everyone feeling? The last few days have been horrid - awful vertigo and so, so tired. I'm pretty much okay today except for fatigue. Fingers crossed it's on the way out!

KatharineofAragon · 05/08/2022 08:43

I’m on day 11 and seem to be going backwards in some respects. The cough has come back, I’m very fatigued. I went for a walk yesterday and felt utterly exhausted at the end.

TheQueensCousin · 05/08/2022 12:56

Day 11 now and the vertigo is still there😢 I'm managing to do a l more but haven't left the house since it began. It's the last day of antibiotics and I finished antivirals a couple of days ago but I still feel exhausted.

TheQueensCousin · 05/08/2022 12:57

I'm a little worried that I'm going to do a Joe Biden 😢

Staynow · 05/08/2022 13:34

I had it last week for the first time, didn't have the headache, wasn't sick and didn't lose my sense of smell or taste but felt fluey and had a horrendous sore throat and one day had a cough that made it sometimes hard to catch my breath which wasn't nice. I got some honey and lemon strepsils which were fantastic for the sore throat though and Night nurse which is always amazing! Recommend having both in just in case. After a week I felt much better thankfully.

Festivalpartygirl · 06/08/2022 18:12

I’m another who has tested positive after 2.5 years, was okay day 1 and 2, day 3 today I feel like a truck has gone over me. I wouldn’t say what I have is a mild illness - it’s bloody horrible and I’ve had 3 jabs. It’s similar to an illness I had Mar 2020 before testing so could be my 2nd time. I’m on Lemsip and back in bed for 4th time today. I can normally shake off colds but struggling with this.

BlancmanegeBunny · 10/08/2022 13:02

I had cold symptoms yesterday, neg test. By last night I was shivering and felt like I had been hit by a bus, very strong positive this morning.
I'm also triple vaxed and had avoided it so far.
