Tested positive today - anyone else?

Tested positive this morning (Sunday) after negative test last night. I think I had it before a few months ago so am a bit annoyed to have it again.

Symptoms are feeling chesty, bit of a cough, painful mouth ulcers on back of tongue.

Anyone else along for the ride?

Tested positive today - worst week ever to get it but at least I can be at home in bed!

I had tested positive on Wednesday after feeling under par for a couple of days and have been isolating since. I felt rough for a couple of days but pleased to say that i tested negative Sunday and today so trying to throw a bit of hope out there for those trying to work out when they may get free - the 5 days isolating was spot on

Ds2 tested positive today so that’s us all except ds3 who had it in March. I’m desperately hoping he won’t get it again as he’s just started a 4 week training course in the school holidays and he’s loving it.

I’m day 5 today and quite light headed and wobbly. I stayed in bed until lunchtime and chilled in the reclining chair all afternoon. I can’t face going outside in this heat. The furthest I’ve been is the freezer.

Tested positive this morning! I was due to go to Manchester to see Social Distortion but I’m obviously not going! I’ve managed to pass on the ticket though. I currently just feel quite warm, have a headache and sore throat. I had Covid way back in October 21 and felt absolutely horrendous and ended up with long Covid! I just hope it’s not as bad this time round! 🤞

Tested positive this afternoon. Weirdly I have to test for my job and this morning was negative, started feeling off after lunch and tested when I got home and positive.

I have a mouth full of ulcers that I woke with this morning, my chest is tickly and I have a dry cough. I have only just got over a chest infection. I ache all over and feel generally worn out.

Phrenologistsfinger · 14/07/2022 19:30

Day 14, still faintly positive! TB style cough and fatigue/dizziness my main symptoms now. Definitely wasn’t a ‘mild cold’ for me…

Joy69 · 15/07/2022 21:30

Tested positive yesterday after feeling off for a few days. Definitely not like a cold! Feel absolutely freezing one minute, hot the next. Also got a sore throat, hacking cough , feel like I've been smacked in the face & shattered. Had Covid right at the very beginning & this is definitely worse

Morning all.

joining - first ever positive test this morning.
This is day 4 of feeling ill, negative tests daily till now.
I started with feeling intensely achy, tired and sore throat whilst at work at lunchtime. By the time I had driven home very carefully 3 hours later, I had a temp of 39, having rigors, completely spaced.

next 2 days, intense pain over sinuses esp when coughing, slightly snotty nose, persistent dry yet productive cough (if that makes sense), feeling like had been run over by a bus, no appetite, loss of taste/smell, low-grade temp still, nausea, very gurgly abdo with slight loose bowels. I think actually stabbing joint pains were the worst. Medication not helping much. Slept on sofa as too much effort to climb stairs.

Woke up very early with yet another coughing fit today, at which point my test was positive. However, way less joint pain and cold/flu capsule with paracetamol and phenylephrine has helped a lot. I’ve also had some tea and toast, cleaned fridge and taken in food delivery. Lots of nice ready meals and things that are easy to heat up, plus ice lollies!

I’m on my own with 2 early teens, so very thankful I seem to have turned a corner. I know they have been worried about me getting Covid, as we had one death in family and one extremely ill close relative from it.

We are all double/triple vaccinated. They have both had fatigue/headache/sore throat intermittently over the last 2 weeks, but have tested negative. 1 recovered, 1 feeling rough again last night. I’ll test them both again today.

Hoping you are all coping and improving

I've just created a separate thread. Tested positive this morning. A bit gutted as was meant to be going out for the day with my hubby. Felt really exhausted and a bit off for a day or too, then came the cough and cold symptoms. Tested positive this morning.

Roominmyhouse · 22/07/2022 10:40

DH tested positive Monday but I had negative tests every day this week until this morning. The line came up so fast and dark! I’d had a tickly cough for a few days so knew it was coming.

Woke up in the night really cold but now feeling quite clammy but overall not too bad. Fingers crossed that it stays that way!

PrivateHall · 23/07/2022 10:53

I hope everyone on here is starting to feel a little better! I wondered if anyone has had any gastro symptoms? DC and I have D&V but also fatigue, slight coughs and sore throats. Negative LFTs yesterday but it took us a few days of symptoms before getting a positive LFT with previous covid infections. Just seems a weird mix of symptoms. Will test us all again later I think, though obviously we are keeping to ourselves regardless. DC have a summer scheme next week so just trying to plan ahead really.

VerifiedBot2351 · 23/07/2022 13:12

I'm a teacher and today is the first day of my holidays and I’ve tested positive. I’m trying to talk DP into going out to buy me some soft tissues.
I'm feeling very sorry for myself.

Roominmyhouse · 23/07/2022 20:08

I don’t actually feel too bad, fingers crossed it stays that way! DH is on day 6 and not faring as well, sore throat, insomnia and it’s not helping his existing anxiety.

AwkwardSquad · 24/07/2022 06:37

Sympathies - I’m on the last day of a much-longed-for fortnight off, developed symptoms halfway through the first week, tested positive on the Saturday :(

AwkwardSquad · 24/07/2022 06:37

(That was meant for @VerifiedBot2351 )

VerifiedBot2351 · 24/07/2022 08:21

@AwkwardSquad that’s so unfair. I’m currently full of snot and phlegm and my eyes are watering. In all, I feel like shit. My son wanted a friend around and I had to say no.

beautifulworldwhereareyou · 24/07/2022 09:41

I tested positive for the first time two days ago on the first day of the summer holidays 😭 I’m glad I managed to get through two full school years never having it despite at one point 17 members of my class testing positive, but still! I have basically no symptoms now. My taste was affected for a bit but it seems ok now.

VerifiedBot2351 · 24/07/2022 11:53

You’ve been lucky to evade it until now. I had it first time around in late 2020, and felt lucky to evade it again until now. I dread to think how many colleagues and kids are starting their holidays off feeling as grotty as I do.
The problem is that kids were told to continue coming to school if they had symptoms. That seemed nonsensical to me.

Checkmabingowings · 24/07/2022 13:02

Day 5 for me, feel like I am turning a corner but I'm having huge panics as my sense of smell and taste has gone and I've done the silly act of googling.....

LIZS · 17/08/2022 12:33

Just looking back as this as dh has tested positive and we have a trip away planned next week, after day 5. He is mainly very tired and has slept badly.
