Tested positive today - anyone else?

Tested positive this morning (Sunday) after negative test last night. I think I had it before a few months ago so am a bit annoyed to have it again.

Symptoms are feeling chesty, bit of a cough, painful mouth ulcers on back of tongue.

Anyone else along for the ride?

I am on day 12 and still a very strong positive. This virus loves me.... 😆 I feel pretty unwell still, cough is relentless and I get very tired.

Had a bit of a disagreement with a friend who has tested positive for covid. She walked her dog, but said it was ok at night with no people around.

What do we all think?

Of course that's ok.

DH decided to assume he'd caught it too, and slacked off a bit at work (from home). It hasn't progressed in anyway though, so he's starting to think it's psychosomatic.

If only there were an easy way to check.

😂😂 took me a while to get that. I almost told you about the wonder that is a covid test 😂

Cocolapew · 02/07/2022 21:40

Took a temperature so did another test and I do have it 🤦

Ansumpasty · 03/07/2022 08:07

All in my house have it this week. Can I ask if anyone else has had stomach/digestive issues when virus was clearing?

I’m on day 6. Felt absolutely awful on day 2, then completely fine since, as in all aches/temp/congestion etc gone. However, on day 4, I started with awful stomach cramps and upset stomach. Been tender every since, especially in the mornings.

My DS (10) is about a week in and also feeling well now, but woke in the middle of the night last night with awful diarrhea that carried on for hours. Anyone else had similar?

WarriorN · 03/07/2022 08:32

I think my mum had a delayed bad tummy

WarriorN · 03/07/2022 08:33

This time it's started with a bit of a loose tummy with me.

A friend gets bad tummy with every jab and infection.

Seems to affect everyone differently!

LIZS · 03/07/2022 09:08

Day 5 test still positive Sad Woke with a headache today and blocked sinuses.

jano69 · 03/07/2022 09:15

Day 13 here, just tired still.... upset tummy and diarrhoea was the final phase of my covid experience (Day 10 onwards).

Ansumpasty · 03/07/2022 10:01

Thanks! I hope you all feel better quickly 😊

WarriorN · 03/07/2022 10:18

Has anyone who

1.had omicron this year found this bout easier and shorter?

And

2.does anyone else feel awful all morning till late afternoon when then feel almost normal?

Cold and throat aspect are barely there, it's the feeling shit and tired bit that gets me!

LIZS · 03/07/2022 10:39

Yes I rally late afternoon/early evening, @jano69 that sounds miserable. Still hoping dh stays clear.

HangingOver · 03/07/2022 11:06

I’m on day 4 of testing postive but day 5 of having symptoms. The heavy flu feeling has gone but still have a bad sore throat/ear ache in the evening and night time and have hot sweats during the night but since yesterday I’ve had a bit of diarrhoea. I do have IBS thought and thought it was caused by that and painkillers were causing it but I’m now wondering if it’s the virus although dd and dh have Covid too but they’ve been ok tummy wise. Hope I’m going to be ok for work on Tuesday as I drive for a job and not easy access to a loo 😳

smilingthroughgrittedteeth · 03/07/2022 11:34

I tested positive yesterday and basically slept for 24hrs, there was no way i could stay awake it felt like my body just shut down. I was violently sick at about 8pm last night and went back to sleep. Woke up this morning feeling more human and tested again to show DD it wasnt scary as needed to test her and my test was negative, did 2 more and 1 had the faintest line but the other was negative.

DP tested positive Thurs and is still testing positive. I tested thurs and fri and was negative so only tested positive for 1 day 🤷‍♀️

RedorangeyellowBLACK · 03/07/2022 11:37

What is everyone’s dc school saying about returning to school?
Dd (14) tested positive on Tuesday last week, she’s ok but very tired with a lingering cough but still testing positive. I spoke to the attendance officer last week and she said dd was to have 3 days off school. She said, regardless if she is still negative or not, she is to come back after the 3 days. Friday was a non-pupil day and obviously we now have the weekend, hopefully she will test negative tomorrow but regardless I’m to send her in.

lightisnotwhite · 03/07/2022 11:52

We take 5 days off from a positive test at school. It’s annoying me that people aren’t testing and toughing it out at work.I and half my class contracted it from a member of SLT who “ couldn’t “ take time off. We were really short staffed the week after and kids are testing positive positive all over the place.
Its not the getting ill but it’s a pain having everyone off

Lanareyrey · 03/07/2022 12:01

First time for me. Tested positive Friday afternoon, after mild symptoms all week that I didn’t think was Covid. Yesterday I had uncontrollable vomiting and fevers, and was incoherent and writing in my bed. DH thought he was going to have to take me to hospital. Vomiting has thankfully stopped today but I am now coughing and feel absolutely dreadful. Triple vaxxed here.

Beefilm · 03/07/2022 12:21

I am on day 7 and have just tested negative. I had to test today as I am due back in work on Tuesday and my boss requires 2 negative tests prior to returning. Anyway, it looks like I will meet his requirement but I still feel really tired and fuzzy headed. Is this likely to clear by Tuesday? I am astonished how tired I feel given that I clearly had a very mild bout of the infection.

WarriorN · 03/07/2022 12:33

Hard to tell but the main symptom for me is fatigue and brain fog.

With my first infection I was also v unwell/ fluey and the fatigue then lasted around 2-3 months.

elephantmarchingin · 03/07/2022 12:34

Line faint today GrinGrin day 11 for me although do have a headache today but think that was due to a long day yesterday travelling etc

WarriorN · 03/07/2022 12:34

(You should feel much better than that though if you've not felt too unwell!)

XenoBitch · 03/07/2022 12:36

It has finally got me. Felt rough last night, tested this morning. Got a strong positive.
Feeling more human after a Lemsip though.

Schmz · 03/07/2022 12:38

Schmz · 03/07/2022 12:39
