Tested positive today - anyone else?

Tested positive this morning (Sunday) after negative test last night. I think I had it before a few months ago so am a bit annoyed to have it again.

Symptoms are feeling chesty, bit of a cough, painful mouth ulcers on back of tongue.

Anyone else along for the ride?

Tested positive Wednesday, headache, cough, aching, tired. Yesterday I was absolutely wiped out...hot one minute, freezing the next, exhausted, couldn't eat, horrendous cough, spent the majority of the day asleep on the sofa.

Today, temperature seems more under control, still coughing but have managed to eat a little, ribs hurt, tired but am able to move round a bit more and haven't flopped out on the sofa as yet, but there's still time for that. Had a headache earlier but that's cleared now.

Is anyone else really hungry? I cant get enough food into me, it feels like morning sickness where I constantly ate to stave off nausea and hunger pangs.

LIZS · 08/07/2022 15:49

Yes have fluctuated between ravenous and nauseous

Cocolapew · 08/07/2022 15:58

I lost 3lbs over the last week and a half, I'm going put it all back on over 24 hours at this rate.

pinklavenders · 08/07/2022 16:36

Yes I was extremely hungry when I had covid last week. The body must be working hard!

Feeling much better now (day 13) and thankfully less hungry too.

elephantmarchingin · 08/07/2022 19:02

Can you catch covid again within 15 days of the last lot?! DH had a temperature last night and my back is killing me today. Maybe it's just residual!!

Lallybroch · 08/07/2022 21:14

DH and I tested positive for it, first time for us both. He's the one with asthma yet hasn't been affected by it and I've been in bed for a week. Today is the first time in 8 days I've felt like actually doing anything. Hopefully this means I'm getting better.

I can't eat at all, can't even keep water down. Guess it affects everyone differently. Day 3 now for me and feel like utter crap.

WarriorN · 09/07/2022 09:28

First bout of omicron I was excessively hungry for a couple of weeks. I also lost weight initially so I think my body was using calories to fight it off. Sadly then I put weight on for a bit!

This time I've had one day of hunger and it's settled.

WarriorN · 09/07/2022 09:29

But I've never had any tummy issues

RichardMarxisinnocent · 09/07/2022 11:50

I'm feeling a lot better the last couple of days, though still quite tired and still testing positive this morning. The most annoying thing currently is my sense of taste. I don't think it's gone completely, I can detect salty, sweet, savoury, but I can't taste the actual flavour. I made coffee this morning, ground coffee in a cafetiere, and I couldn't taste coffee at all, just a vaguely bitterish flavour. Had something with a curry flavour last night, couldn't taste it. Its really making me not feel at all like eating, because what's the point if it all just tastes of nothing. Even water tastes a bit odd and is putting me off drinking even though I know I need to stay hydrated.

NotsoTeflonBoris · 09/07/2022 12:53

Day 5 after first positive test and still showing positive on LFT.

headaches have subsided but I am so tired.
Little appetite with exception of hot buttered toast.

Threeboysandadog · 09/07/2022 13:46

My symptoms started on Wednesday. Just achy and tired. Then a sore throat and cough on Thursday. Tested +ve last night. I had a very sore head last night but that’s eased now. My throat is pretty sore and I have stabbing pains all over. Ds1 has just set of for McDonalds to get me a McDonalds Mac flurry and I’ve ordered a same day delivery from Iceland with ice cream and lollies. I’m not the least bit hungry. I am a bit worried that it will get worse as I have been hospitalised previously with flu. Obviously I recovered fine but it’s an experience I would rather not repeat.

My youngest son had it in March and Dh and my eldest son had it a few weeks ago. I didn’t get it from them (I slept on an air mattress in the living room). I think it may have been from a concert last Friday although I wore a mask and was very careful 😔

@Karmatime how interesting that you say you had indigestion the night before! I did too and like you, never have it!

I’m on day 2, feel rough but have two little ones so trying my best to get on with it. I’ll be in bed with them by 7 tonight I’m sure!

weffles · 09/07/2022 14:38

Anyone had nosebleeds with covid?

It was strange - that’s gone now and my main symptom is a very sore throat, couple of little white spots and swollen on one side. I hope you manage to get some rest once your little ones are in bed.

Anyone had nosebleeds with covid?

Me. Just the one and it was light but I shit myself!

weffles · 09/07/2022 16:16

Thank god for that! I blew my nose and whoosh. Really scared me. Fingers crossed it was a one off.

Phrenologistsfinger · 09/07/2022 16:28

Day 9 and still a vibrant red positive test. Main issue is horrid cough and lung congestion plus associated fatigue.

DP tested positive today after having symptoms for a few days. Despite isolating (although we share a bathroom, kept windows wide open).

Daisychainsandglitter · 09/07/2022 18:35

I've tested a very strong positive today. Symptoms started Thursday evening felt sniffly and had a scratchy throat.
Feel shivery today, tired, sore throat and runny nose bad cough. Strangely I've felt really hungry although this afternoon I've started to lose my taste.
Am annoyed as had a dreadful stomach bug just under two weeks ago so am annoyed I've got this.
DH has been in bed since Wednesday with a migraine so bad timing. Kids are driving me crackers. Can't wait for them to go to bed!

WombleOfWimbledon2022 · 09/07/2022 20:09

Got my first ever positive today. I tested on Thursday (negative) as my gym buddy had tested positive earlier in the week. Felt a bit sniffly/scratchy throat at lunchtime so tested as a precaution (fully expecting a negative) and was shocked to see a second line. Since then scratchy throat has progressed to sore, my neck is aching and I have painful burning sinuses. Hoping things stay mild(ish) - friends who have had it recently have been wiped out for a week.

Madhairday · 10/07/2022 16:14

Day 4 here and have ended up in hospital 😢 very very dehydrated from 36 hours of sickness and my bloods show a pancreas infection which they say is caused by the covid too. I'm on holiday as well - just rubbish.

Daisychainsandglitter · 10/07/2022 17:34

I'm sorry @Madhairday I hope you feel better soon Flowers

Threeboysandadog · 10/07/2022 22:44

That’s not good @Madhairday I hope you are being well looked after and recover quickly.

I’m day 4 today and definitely feeling a bit better (although still scared that it might get worse again). I have absolutely no appetite at all, which is so unlike me and my sense of smell and taste are off. The kids had curry for dinner and I couldn’t smell it at all. Now my cup of tea tastes like it’s laced with arsenic.

Threeboysandadog · 10/07/2022 22:46

….. and hats off to all those doing this with small children. My youngest is 16 (just) and that’s hard enough.
