Tested positive today - anyone else?

Tested positive this morning (Sunday) after negative test last night. I think I had it before a few months ago so am a bit annoyed to have it again.

Symptoms are feeling chesty, bit of a cough, painful mouth ulcers on back of tongue.

Anyone else along for the ride?

(You should feel much better than that though if you've not felt too unwell!)

Ah, ignore my previous post. I made the rookie error of not waiting the full length of time for the test to develop. It turns out I am still testing positive, albeit quite faintly. So that explains the continued tiredness. I'm quite relieved if I am honest. I was worried I was going to feel obliged to go to work when I didn't feel up to it but now I know I have at least another day to recover.

6 days since testing positive. Tested today and the line was even stronger than last Monday.

Feeling like I have a heavy cold and got low energy and low mood. My get up and go has got up and gone. I don't want to do anything, not because I feel under the weather, because I feel really flat. Really hope this feeling doesn't last too long.

RedorangeyellowBLACK · 03/07/2022 13:59

Fuckitydoodah me too. I feel so flat, really low but I remember feeling like this for a few weeks afterwards whenever I’ve had then flu. I could happily just sit and stare at the wall all day!

elephantmarchingin · 03/07/2022 19:02

Hmmmm really having to clear my throat tonight!!! How can this be!!!

HangingOver · 03/07/2022 19:23

Anyone else's appetite non existent?

If anyone else has a fever and one of those ice bags you put ice cubes in for sport injuries I HIGHLY recommend putting in on your face.

Neowwwm · 03/07/2022 23:14

Day 7 and I tested negative. Still haven't got my sense of smell back and still have to clear throat and chest intermittently. Chest feels odd, kind of weak or heavy? Get out of breath from very little so have continued resting.

I feel the same, I'm still having sore throat and a heavy chest and I'm 5 days negative.

My mental health took a dive after my first bout of covid in Jan. also developed insomnia for a while after it had made me sleep so deeply. I am very much in peri menopause though.

No idea if it helps but I'd focus on good stomach bacteria and fresh air when you can.

Sorrynotsorry2 · 04/07/2022 10:02

Tested positive this morning. Didn't feel 100 % last night. But this morning I woke up with a runny nose itchy ears and a cough . Thought it was a cold but wanted to test to make sure and it came up positive straight away . Also im really thirsty .
Hope we can all get over it ASAP.

RedorangeyellowBLACK · 04/07/2022 11:04

Has anyone else got loose stools since testing positive?
I do have IBS so have an already super sensitive tummy but I am on day 6 and since Saturday I’ve had loose stool, like the 💩emoji (sorry, tmi!!).
I’ve also got a slightly blocked nose and I feel like I can smell a weird smell all the time.

RedorangeyellowBLACK · 04/07/2022 11:04

I also felt really nauseous this morning.

RedorangeyellowBLACK · 04/07/2022 11:05

WarriorN I am peri too, I don’t think that is helping me to recover from this at all.

WarriorN · 04/07/2022 11:17

If you are not on hrt and had had peri symptoms prior to covid I'd strongly suggest you consider asking Gp about hrt if no risk factors.

Body identical is very natural (made from yams or soya). Having said that it seems covid can affect how the hrt is taken up by the body for a couple of months. In my case though I've needed a big increase in the patch strength in May, from when I first caught covid in Jan. tests showed v low oestrogen. No idea if the covid or would have happened naturally but it did hit me c hard. from 37.5 then to 75 now.

This for long covid but worth baring in mind (have to scroll right down for hrt advice. Good advice re diet too.)

Thank you for the info. I’ve been trying to get a gp to acknowledge that I’m even in peri since the age of 45 (49 now). They say because I have regular (although horrendously heavy) periods and no day sweats then I am not in peri, sadly I am like many women and just get offered antidepressants! It’s an ongoing battle which I’m still trying to push for with a new surgery obviously now made worse since getting Covid as I can’t go in face to face atm and last week was robbed off during a telephone appointment with yet another suggestion of antidepressants!

Cocolapew · 04/07/2022 11:34

God I've never been so snotty it's horrendous. Didn't have a good night, as soon as I lay down I knew I was going to be sick and struggled to sleep, keep getting flashing lights when I close my eyes.
I was dying for McCoys Mexican chilli crisps, I need to eat before my antibiotics for my tooth infection or I feel nauseous.
DD went and got me some this morning and I can hardly taste them 🙄.
DD2 says that when she got really snotty it was the start of feeling better 🤞

Shock

That's shocking!

Show them the nice guidance - at 45 you're assumed menopausal and can have a trial of hrt, your heavy periods could be helped with mirena or some women use mini pill as well as utrogestan. Then the patches or gel are added in on top.

I'd suggest joining either the menopause matters forum or a fb group called the menopause support network (or both!) which is part of a charity - really good advice there. Some of the mods are trained menopause counsellors. Good luck Flowers

I dont have ibs . After test positive this morning. I've been 6 times

LIZS · 04/07/2022 13:56

Anyone else got itchy, heavy eyes? First couple of days they streamed but now left with a prickling and tired feeling.

Meowser72 · 04/07/2022 14:24

I had a couple of days (days 9/10) where I had waves of nausea after I thought the covid was on the way out. I bought a load of kombucha online! All seems to have settled now, fingers crossed.

Phrenologistsfinger · 04/07/2022 15:06

Day 5 and still bedridden. The fever has broken nowI think, topped 38.2c for a couple of days there. It was the deep bone aching contractions in my bone marrow and the evil headache that got me worst. Now I get why we need to take covid seriously. My bone marrow still hurts. Bp topped at 110 whilst prone, ox sat 90.

I’m still staggering about like an unsteady foal, wiped out and sleeping a lot. Low generally but not surprised.

yes to soft stools. Cough still holding on strong although my infrared heat-pad has been amazing on my chest.

limited taste and small, even olbas oil smelt very little!

def not a ‘mild cold’ for me this time (3x vaxed and had mild version before).

LIZS · 04/07/2022 17:45

Still positive even though feel much better Sad

jano69 · 04/07/2022 18:57

I'm glad you're feeling better @LIZS.

LuckyLuckyWoman · 04/07/2022 19:21

Tested positive for the first time today, feels really odd to have it now when I was so scared to get it for months in the beginning.

Benji13 · 04/07/2022 20:40

hello fellow sufferers
i tested positive on Thursday with a feint line but big old red line on Friday. I’ve felt lousy all weekend with a streaming cold and nasty cough. I’m so very congested today and shattered but also now have no taste and can smell a foul chemically smell which is making me feel really sick 🤢
i had avoided covid all this time despite dh and ds1 and ds2 all having it at separate times. Serves me right for going on holiday finally to Spain - returned with covid it appears!
im a real worrier and am worried I will be left with this smell/ taste loss and horrid smell 🙈

Cocolapew · 04/07/2022 21:32

Anyone else get really nauseous at night? I can't figure out if it's my antibiotics or covid, my head is a bit dizzy and 'full'. I'm trying to line my stomach before the anti-bs 🤢
