I have woken up feeling breathless, tired, achey and tight of chest.

LFT negative but I've booked a PCR as I want to see elderly mum this w/e so want to be sure.

I know it seems that the current variant BA.2 seems to be a bit worse than Omicron that everyone had at Christmas, but I'm not sure what the symptoms are.

If you have covid now, what are your symptoms?

PP who asked about itching/rash...I have this too. It is really annoying. I find aloe vera gel is helping.

treedragon · 28/03/2022 11:32

There just seems to be so many people dropping with it. My neighbour has it. I’m 99% sure but they refuse to test and have refused a vaccine too. They sound pretty bad at the mo.

Flyingteaspoon · 28/03/2022 12:24

There just seems to be so many people dropping with it.

A friend went to a wedding last week. There were 100 guests. 45 now testing positive.

PurpleThistles · 28/03/2022 13:40

Day 8 now. I felt okay yesterday and the day before but feel quite down today and breathless again. Still a positive LFT but I think it's not quite as strong. Oxymeter still reading a strong 98/99%

Has anyone else not got a sore throat but has a hoarse voice? Mine has been hoarse for about three days now. Also this is gross but I've noticed when I use the toilet, it's very yellow looking.

I think the not knowing if it might get worse is the hardest part and anxiety itself causes physical symptoms.

treedragon · 28/03/2022 13:45

@PurpleThistles

It is the not knowing I agree. I had a family member call me asking how I was and they then went on to remind me how people go downhill and go in hospital and worse.

Cheered me up no end.

Bapple · 28/03/2022 17:09

Tested positive yesterday after five days of negatives despite feeling rubbish and DS testing positive last Wednesday.

The night before I got a positive, my face felt like there were ants crawling all over it and my mood has been incredibly low (two friends have reported the same) - I'm menopausal and HRT had kept those two symptoms under control until covid got me.

Feeling very itchy on face and in mouth ... like very bad hayfever.

PurpleThistles · 29/03/2022 09:58

Day 9, still a bit breathless, voice still hoarse but today my lateral flow has a squinter of a line. Does this mean I'm over the worst?

MissMarpleRocks · 29/03/2022 10:04

Day 7 today & still positive. Feels more like a very bad cold but also I’m still quite tired.

Day 4 for Dh & He can’t stop coughing even though on Bronco stop. He’s feeling rubbish as well.

TweenTrauma · 29/03/2022 10:08

@Bapple I had the itchy mouth too, drove me mad!

TweenTrauma · 29/03/2022 10:15

Thursday - sore throat, itchy legs and itchy inside of my mouth

Friday - feverish, exhausted, sneezing a lot, throat full of phlegm, slightly snotty, drifting in and out of sleep all day, couldn’t get out of bed. Coughing a lot. Really bad muscle pains and backache.

Saturday - not as tired and managed to get up and potter around, but still feeling really crap. Still sneezing/coughing

Sunday - ditto, but lost sense of smell. Also shooting pains in buttocks.

Monday - ditto, lost sense of taste.

Today - cough seems to have improved but still feeling really weak, no smell or taste.

TweenTrauma · 29/03/2022 10:19

Oh and Sunday especially feeling like my lungs were on fire. Also burning sinuses on Saturday/Sunday.

Ihaveoflate · 29/03/2022 10:20

Started like mild hayfever: sneezing, itchy eyes, scratchy throat

Day 6 now and it's definitely worse, more like a bad cold: stuffy nose, chesty cough, aches, fatigue, hot to touch but feel cold, brain fog

Also, I've had a raging hunger throughout even though I can't taste much.

TweenTrauma · 29/03/2022 10:21

And also Thursday night and Friday daytime (at the very start) really bad shivers, just couldn’t warm up.

MissMarpleRocks · 29/03/2022 10:28

@treedragon

It’s wrong to call this “mild”

It should be “serious” and if requiring hospital treatment “life threatening”.

Perhaps then the population would take it more seriously. It’s quite clear people aren’t on the basis of the “mild” description.

This. For some of us on here it wasn’t mild. I couldn’t get out of bed for a few days. That isn’t mild imo.
knowinglesseveryday · 29/03/2022 10:47

@PurpleThistles Drink plenty of water. This was mentioned as an issue in 2020.

glitterelf · 29/03/2022 11:11

I tested positive yesterday evening first symptoms were lower back ache and a painful hip before feeling incredibly tired so tested. Over night and this morning I ache all over, sweats and chills and no appetite. I've been in bed since 6 last night and can't see myself moving today.

covidemployee · 29/03/2022 13:57

Day 5 for me today, my lateral flow is still positive but very faint and hard to see. I don't have many tests left so will probably not test again until day 8. Hoping I'll be negative before the weekend.

I still have a sense of smell and taste but it's very faint, I can just smell/taste a hint of things

I've had some bad coughing fits at night and a few times in the day, but other than that I feel ok.

I've been weirdly emotional and crying over little things. I'm also struggling to focus whilst working from home, especially in the mornings.

Ygritte84 · 29/03/2022 18:39

My symptoms started with headache/scratchy throat. Now on Day 3 and my stomach is killing me. It feels like gastro. I have bene sick three times today and have mild diarrhea (sorry if TMI).

brieandbacon · 29/03/2022 19:50

I think most of us have a blocked, plus runny nose. Bad sinuses. I've discovered Sudafed blocked nose spray. A godsend at bed time. One squirt up each nostril and after a few minutes a miracle happens. Nose unblocked and sleeping flat is possible without suffocating. Ordered from Amazon at 7pm and arrived next morning. Amazing!

JaceLancs · 29/03/2022 19:59

Still got worser than usual IBS with mine and constant nose bleeds despite trying to blow gently
Due to high temp asked DS to help me change bed etc as sweaty sheets then had a nose bleed - most annoying!
Worst is the tiredness and headache

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 29/03/2022 20:52

Day 11. Lateral flow so dark it is comical. Still feel rotten, and so fed up of not being able to smell or taste!

Watsername · 29/03/2022 21:35

Day 7 today. Feel fine apart from a strange mild buzzing sensation in my lower left leg. It started last night and has been coming in waves. Anyone else had this?

BigButtons · 29/03/2022 22:13

@Watsername I am convinced that covid affects the nerves. I have ably just got full sensation back in my legs. I am 18 days after my positive test. I couldn’t feel my legs properly. I was like mild pins and needles all the time. I have also had a flare up of neuralgia- again nerve issues. My face is burning on one side and one tooth has become badly sensitive- had no issues pre covid.

MintyIguana · 29/03/2022 22:23

It's like a red sharpie on the lft. I feel slightly more tired than usual. That's all.

Alcoh · 30/03/2022 07:48

Day 8. Very very faint second line only now but nausea and upset tummy.
