I have woken up feeling breathless, tired, achey and tight of chest.

LFT negative but I've booked a PCR as I want to see elderly mum this w/e so want to be sure.

I know it seems that the current variant BA.2 seems to be a bit worse than Omicron that everyone had at Christmas, but I'm not sure what the symptoms are.

If you have covid now, what are your symptoms?

@MyBeloved

Anyone else got a really bad aching back/hip/legs?

I have also been experiencing an increase in my IBS issues.

I had this for a week before testing positive. I'm on day nine, after a horrible week, and finally negative. Not got my energy level back though and a bit stuffy still.
ToMockAKillingBird · 28/03/2022 06:01

Dh tested +ve last Sunday, its really floored him but think he's over the worst.
Last Tuesday I had the worst sore throat ever, arm, shoulder, leg pain and headache. I tested negative right through to Friday when it went positive.
No aches as such now but I can't stop sneezing, really snotty (sorry) and occasional rib pains. I've just ordered an oximeter from Amazon just for peace of mind.

Anyone find their symptoms are dramatically worse at night? I've been downstairs all night as lying down makes me cough.

HamAlive · 28/03/2022 06:09

I feel like I've had nearly every symptom going, not the cold I expected.

Started Wednesday afternoon with a scratchy throat. I did an LFT but it was negative. I was then up most of the night with what felt like razors in my throat and an awful headache/faceache. I have cluster headaches so I'm no stranger to pain but this was incredibly painful. Tested again Thurs morning but still negative. Dosed myself up and felt OK ish whilst medicated.

Friday I felt worse so tested again and got a faint positive. Went downhill through Friday with total blockage of sinuses so have lost some of my hearing, ringing in ears, throat, head and face still in agony, body aches and pains. Saturday was worse again with fever, twitching and the cough starting which hurt. Lost my voice. Sunday was marginally better in that the tablets did take the edge off slightly and my voice came back. Have felt nauseous on and off since then, no appetite as I can't smell or taste anything.

Currently sat up in bed with dressing gown on as have been shivering and when I lie down my nose becomes completely blocked to the point that when I swallow there's some sort of vacuum and my throat gets stuck Confused

HamAlive · 28/03/2022 06:10

Oh yes and the rivers of snot! Delightful!

LillethCrane · 28/03/2022 06:28

My ds tested positive yesterday for the second time. He is much more poorly this time than when he had Covid last year. He has a high temperature and a cough. He kept saying he felt so cold, but that his eyes felt hot. He had no energy yesterday which is not like him.

ToMockAKillingBird · 28/03/2022 06:49

Also really itchy skin, has anyone had that?

lifestooshortandsoami · 28/03/2022 07:12

@ToMockAKillingBird

I tested positive Friday and have really itchy skin- mainly on my upper body and arms- it comes and goes but is driving me mad.

I also feel like I’ve got every symptom under the sun and they just rotate round- so when my headache eases I then feel sick etc Hmm

HamAlive · 28/03/2022 07:31

No more itching than normal here except for my eyes, but my skin has been sore to touch. I have had that before with fever though.

topdot · 28/03/2022 07:44

Positive lateral flow this morning. I had a scratchy throat yesterday but negative test, then thought I had better do another one this morning and it came up positive. I'm worried as I went to see my mum and dad yesterday. But I'm feeling fine at the moment.

MissMarpleRocks · 28/03/2022 08:03

Anyone know current pcr turnaround times? Dh finally went yesterday, he feels worse today but still negative LFT.

I’m feeling much better, I’m day 6 so hoping that’s it! Still showing positive. But I don’t want to stop self isolating if dh hasn’t got covid as I don’t want him to catch it or get what he has if it isn’t.

So confusing knowing what to do for the best. Hey ho.

TheTurn0fTheScrew · 28/03/2022 08:28

woke up this morning with a temperature and loss of sense of smell.
what felt like a cold yesterday feels much more flu-like today. hope everyone else is managing as well as can be expected.

gogohm · 28/03/2022 08:31

None, Dp's dd is completely asymptomatic

emmathedilemma · 28/03/2022 09:11

@treedragon

My positive test was Thursday morning so is today my 5th day?
surely it's day 4? Thursday - 1 Friday -2 Saturday -3 Sunday -4 Day 6 here, did a LFT this morning in the hope of getting "early release" tomorrow and it is so positive i think it must be twins!! Still only got cold like symptoms and nothing that would stop me from going about my day as normal if I was allowed out :(
Jules912 · 28/03/2022 09:14

I'm two weeks in and still ache all over. Today I woke up feeling fine but put the washing on and now back to aching.

Rassy · 28/03/2022 09:48

Tested positive this am. Had a slightly scratchy throat since Saturday. Last night coughed a few times when went to bed and on FaceTime last night mum asked me if my hay fever symptoms had started early. Felt really tired last night but slept really badly.

I feel scared that it will get worst.

treedragon · 28/03/2022 09:55

It’s wrong to call this “mild”

It should be “serious” and if requiring hospital treatment “life threatening”.

Perhaps then the population would take it more seriously. It’s quite clear people aren’t on the basis of the “mild” description.

Tippexy · 28/03/2022 09:57

@emmathedilemma the day of a positive test is actually Day 0.

lifestooshortandsoami · 28/03/2022 09:59

I went for my pcr at 9:30am Friday morning and got the result 3am Saturday morning so really quick - nobody else at the test Centre though so show show many people aren’t testing

treedragon · 28/03/2022 10:02

@Tippexy

Ohh god so I’m only on day four

Onegingerhead · 28/03/2022 10:11

I m negative today, day 6. Yesterday was fairly positive. Still have occasional cough but waterfall of snots had thankfully stopped

emmathedilemma · 28/03/2022 10:17
@emmathedilemma the day of a positive test is actually Day 0.
This reads to me as if day 1 is the day of symptoms or positive test. I'm on Scottish guidance which might be different. I'm sure it's day 1 because I got a close contact text telling me to self-isolate for 10 days (not actually required if you're fully vac'd) until a certain date and I'd only seen the person on one day and working backwards they were using the day I saw them as day 1.

treedragon · 28/03/2022 10:20

I’m deffo more phlegmy and snotty today than since it started. But it was the first night I’ve had any decent sleep without waking up in the middle of the night so possibly the gunk has gathered more.

ImFree2doasiwant · 28/03/2022 10:22

In England, the positive result OR the day symptoms started, is day 0. (If no symptoms you go from the positive test LFT o test day PCR)

SummerWillow · 28/03/2022 11:15

Tested positive Friday after DD was positive on Wednesday. I felt unwell Thursday but negative. Have had ear ache, very runny nose, sneezing, cough and severe back pain/sciatica. Slight sore throat, swollen glands and very fatigued. Feeling slightly better today and DH has just tested positive with very sore throat.

SummerWillow · 28/03/2022 11:19

Also tummy upset, some nausea and lost appetite.
