I have woken up feeling breathless, tired, achey and tight of chest.

LFT negative but I've booked a PCR as I want to see elderly mum this w/e so want to be sure.

I know it seems that the current variant BA.2 seems to be a bit worse than Omicron that everyone had at Christmas, but I'm not sure what the symptoms are.

If you have covid now, what are your symptoms?

DP had couple of days of a scratchy throat, day 3 was his worst where he felt feverish (although no temp), back ache, snotty and developed a cough. He's now on day 6 and just an occasional cough.

I'm a few days behind. Day 0 was the same scratchy throat. Since the evening of day 1 I've had a high temp, slight cough but so so snotty, all over aches, tummy pain, sinus pain and I'm utterly utterly exhausted.

YukoandHiro · 27/03/2022 14:13

I tested positive (very dark line) this morning. I had a slightly sore throat yesterday. Sneezed a bit last night. Then woke at 3am shivering and feeling nauseous. This morning I had a headache, aching limbs and stomach ache. Fluey, but not as bad as the flu.
My 4yo has a fever and a stomach ache. 1 year old has a mild cold. DH has breathlessness and a bit tired.
Hoping we all feel a bit better soon.

YukoandHiro · 27/03/2022 14:14

@treedragon mild just means it doesn't require hospitalisation and is self limiting

TheTurn0fTheScrew · 27/03/2022 14:24

Standard cold symptoms here - snot, streaming eyes, mild fatigue, sore throat, bit of a cough. I'm not working until Tues, but would definitely class myself as well enough for light duties if I continue in the same vein.

I'm mainly worried about passing it on to DC1, who has an audition this week that I'm not sure can be rearranged. We're in a very small house, only one bathroom so fully isolating is not easy.

xsquared · 27/03/2022 15:59

@treedragon

I’m getting fed up with people saying this things is “mild” especially with a vaccine. Who actually determines what’s mild or not and how? I would consider a mild illness to be a simple niggle that doesn’t interfere with day to day activities including attending work.

Given I’ve barely moved from the couch since Thursday I hardly classify it as “mild”.

I'm one of these people and make no apologies for describing my own symptoms as mild. It is different for everyone and not everyone experiences the same symptoms, although I am sorry it's hit you quite badly.

If work rules were not in place, then my day to day activity wouldn't be affected at all.

Felt off a bit Wednesday (23rd) morning did LFT it was neg so went to work. By Wed afternoon/pm I was aching all over, felt like flu, was freezing, had the worst headache ever, my eyes hurt to even move them. Did another LFT was positive. Thursday I slept a lot, still ached, headache a bit but I took some naproxen. Friday I felt a lot better. Friday night ds complained of the worst headache ever, he then tested positive. His symptoms mimicked mine, his eyes hurt to move them. He slept a lot on the Saturday. Is feeling a bit better today. Neither DS or myself has had a cough to speak off.

Just feel a bit run down today, a bit of a sniffly nose, slight headache but I get headaches anyway. I feel well enough to return to work but know I can’t.

MissMarpleRocks · 27/03/2022 16:48

Day 5 (tested positive Tuesday) & strong positive. Dh has all the symptoms as me but still negative LFT. I’ve told him to go for a pcr as if he is positive then I won’t continue isolating.

GD12 · 27/03/2022 17:29

Day 6 now and despite having all my energy back and feeling pretty normal(apart from some slight phlegm) , I woke up this morning to one side of my throat feeling like it has razors in it. Very strange as it's only suddenly come on. Lft is still very +

GD12 · 27/03/2022 17:31

Yeah, I've described my experience as very mild but it's only my experience and I'm pretty relieved that it's been like that for me. I understand that it's not like that for everyone.

NewYearEveryYear · 27/03/2022 18:53

DH is currently +ve, one day post test result. He feels... Kinda okay, bit bunged up, but tired, bit inset the weather, mild cold symptoms. He's carrying on as normal (he hoovered yesterday when I popped out (I didn't ask or expect him to)). Fingers crossed this is as bad as it gets...

MissCrowley · 27/03/2022 19:25

@JKDcot this is me at the moment. Just when I start feeling ok the nausea and headache comes back for like an hour or so. It's really bloody odd. Think I'm on day 3. Tested positive yesterday but was feeling really tired on Friday and very achey yesterday.

Frostytiger87 · 27/03/2022 19:29

Has anyone lost their taste or smell , I tested positive on Friday and feel crap
Sore throat , head cold , aching pain in sinuses

I lost my sense of smell on the 6th day of symptoms, still got taste.
NeedWineNow · 27/03/2022 20:03

DH's symptoms started Thursday but he thought it was just his hayfever starting. Friday morning he was snuffly but still felt ok and he's been like that ever since. He tested this morning because we were going to my Mum's and got a positive test. He still feels as though he's got a very mild cold.

LoganberryJam · 27/03/2022 20:05

DH had it two weeks ago and lost his sense of taste, only for a couple of days though.

JKDcot · 27/03/2022 21:37

@MissCrowley I hope you feel better soon. I’m on day 5 and just starting to feel the frequency and intensity of nausea / headache is reducing. Finally paracetamol is also working so as soon as I feel off I take one and it is hopefully working

A horrible virus and wishing everyone better

ImFree2doasiwant · 27/03/2022 21:55

I had a bad cold for almost 2 weeks before testing g positive. I was testing daily. I was sneezing a lot, had a couple of days of feeling really lethargic, cough, snot. Going to Ed early every night and sleeping well by about day 12 I woke up with a sore throat, really early same day 13 with a bout of nausea. Tested positive day 14 abd dudnt sleep well. Day 15 barely slept at all. Day 16, today, I feel awful . Really bad cough, banging head (worse when I cough) runny/snotty/blocked nose. Sore throat. Exhausted.

JaceLancs · 27/03/2022 22:01

Heavy cold like with scratchy throat, temperature, headache, very tired and IBS worse than usual

treedragon · 27/03/2022 22:21

For me it certainly seems to be causing gastric issues. Grumbling acidic stomach some reflux and reflux smell and nausea.

MyBeloved · 27/03/2022 22:32

Anyone else got a really bad aching back/hip/legs?

I have also been experiencing an increase in my IBS issues.

hupfpferd · 27/03/2022 22:45

Very very sore throat, bunged up nose, headache, mild temp and cough. 3 days of symptoms before positive. Felt properly rotten for about 4 days. Now on day 7 and feeling mostly ok.

Test still pinging up bright positive though.

hupfpferd · 27/03/2022 22:50

Are you all reporting your positive results? I'll be honest I haven't reported DD or mine as I completely forgot in my fog and illness and it's too late now.

Just thinking the infection rate might not be too accurate now.

MysweetAudrina · 27/03/2022 22:58

Raw throat, bunged up, not much energy but not too bad either. Tested faintly positive on Fri after getting scratchy throat on Thursday. Heavy positive yesterday.

AllLopsided · 27/03/2022 23:31

I thought I was already on this thread but I can find my post. So apologies if repeating myself. DH had it. I have been feeling 'off' for two weeks with, at various times, mild fever, bunged up nose, banging headache, sore eyes, nausea, dizziness, too hot, too cold, tired... had two negative tests. Didn't bother testing every day or getting P C R as it's a faff and I wasn't going anywhere. Now I have a sore, red throat - looks like it did when I had strep. So fed up. Wish I could either get it properly or it would go away!

Tippexy · 27/03/2022 23:33

@treedragon

My positive test was Thursday morning so is today my 5th day?
No, today is your Day 3.
