Has anyone else never had covid?

Just about everyone I know has now had covid at some point over last few years. It’s been in our household twice and we didn’t isolate from each other but I never tested positive. I have had times when I’ve felt ill and then found close contacts have tested positive so I’ve been sure I must have but always tested negative. Not complaining at all, if anything I consider myself lucky, just think it’s odd and I seem to be a minority.

Me never had it although people in the same house have had it

OlafLovesAnna · 17/03/2022 20:12

No one in my immediate family of 5 had had it until a month ago despite moving countries in 2021, travelling to and fro from boarding school and being in 3 different schools.

My eldest finally had it in Feb but had no symptoms and although the rest of us did PCRs no one got it.

gamerchick · 17/03/2022 20:34

Me and husband haven't. Kid has but we didn't catch it. Literally everyone I'm close to has either got it or had it really recently, some for the second time so it's just a matter of time I think.

takemetomars · 17/03/2022 20:47

I haven't and neither has my husband. I am a nurse in a GO surgery and have been seeing patients all the way through the pandemic. I have flown abroad twice and my daughter who lives with us has had it. I am starting to feel a bit invincible

Firesidefox · 17/03/2022 21:58

I haven't but am sure it's just a matter of time. And I expect that posting this will hasten it.

I work in an office, have done on and off for most of the past two years, and haven't worn a mask for a while.

Everyone else in my family has had it.

Flowersandhearts · 18/03/2022 00:52

I hadn't- I have (diagnosed OCD) with contamination fears and wash my hands 100 x / day (quite literally!). Then my gorgeous toddler nephew Covid coughed up into my face and I caught it!

Flowersandhearts · 18/03/2022 00:56

Oh and I don't go to shops, can't work etc. etc. so really this was probably the only way I could have caught it- I almost made it to the 2-year mark!

AuntTwacky · 18/03/2022 00:58

Me!

ZZTopGuitarSolo · 18/03/2022 04:23

No one in my immediate family - there are 5 of us. A lot of my friends haven't either.

In our local school system 1 in 5 kids have had it, so 4 in 5 have not. They test most of them every week.

DesertStorms · 18/03/2022 04:36

I haven’t had it. Nor OH or son who lives with us. However my brother nearly died of it and two other family members have had it.
I have been going out doing stuff as normal. I feel it’s only a matter of time.

autienotnaughty · 18/03/2022 04:40

Wow @ZZTopGuitarSolo do you live somewhere very remote?
Soundofshuna · 18/03/2022 08:56

I haven’t either(yet) Frontline healthcare. I was in a trial with weekly PCR until Christmas too. 12 year DD had it in January, we didn’t really isolate from her. Colleague tested positive on Tuesday so now may be my turn but negative so far.

MinglingFlamingo · 18/03/2022 09:30

I hadn't had it until today

TroysMammy · 18/03/2022 09:31

I haven't yet and neither have my colleagues. We work in a GP surgery. We keep our fingers crossed along with mask wearing and sanitising.

I live in Maine, but in one of the more populated areas. The state's more remote counties have been hit harder with Covid if anything - they tend to be more anti-mask, anti-vaccination, anti-distancing, etc. The remoter counties have especially a much higher death rate from Covid. It's been interesting to see. It's kind of a microcosm of the US generally.

Tulipomania · 18/03/2022 18:12

Dh & I have not had it as far as we know.

AlecTrevelyan006 · 18/03/2022 18:18

Neither me, my wife nor our two adult kids have had it. Both kids have worked through most of the pandemic in public facing roles.

SoItWas · 18/03/2022 18:26

Afaik, I haven't.

SoItWas · 18/03/2022 18:29

Sorry I should add, the city I live in, was at one point the UK's most covid infected.

HoliHormonalTigerlilly · 18/03/2022 18:35

Me. Apparently.

sueelleker · 18/03/2022 18:37

Me. As my husband was asthmatic (now deceased from unrelated condition) I was very careful, as I didn't want to bring it home to him.

MotherofPearl · 18/03/2022 18:49

Me.

ltappleby · 18/03/2022 18:50

I haven't had it and I've been out and about, no precautions unless legally required. I'm part of the antibody study so definitely haven't had it.

lisajane46 · 18/03/2022 19:38
