Has anyone else never had covid?

Just about everyone I know has now had covid at some point over last few years. It’s been in our household twice and we didn’t isolate from each other but I never tested positive. I have had times when I’ve felt ill and then found close contacts have tested positive so I’ve been sure I must have but always tested negative. Not complaining at all, if anything I consider myself lucky, just think it’s odd and I seem to be a minority.

I haven't had Covid - despite actually 'trying' to catch it after my vaccines to boost my immunity.

But despite what's bed with a positive covid partner and living in very close proximity to various family members, I didn't Mankato ever test positive....

Lilaclavenders · 16/03/2022 15:19

Sorry that should say 'despite sharing a bed with'

Lilaclavenders · 16/03/2022 15:19

And 'manage to'

Rosehugger · 16/03/2022 15:23

Me, not that I know of. I could have had it before testing was available though.

fartooanxiousfortoday · 16/03/2022 15:24

I hadn’t until last week and had been exposed as close contact on lots of occasions thought I was immune but now I have it but no few symptoms found out through random work test

BigButtons · 16/03/2022 15:27

I hadn’t had it until last Saturday. Worked in a school throughout. Been up in London. Oh and haven’t caught it from me.
It’s shit. I really wish I hadn’t got it. The bloody gift that keeps giving. Everyday a new symptom.

Maggiesgirl · 16/03/2022 15:31

Should never have answered this thread earlier. Just tested positive and feeling crap.

sheslittlebutfierce · 16/03/2022 15:31

Not had it nor DH or the DD thats still at home. None of our 6 vintage parents either!
DH has worked as normal throughout and I had 3 months furloughed and worked since.

We have attended football matches whenever allowed and out and about within the rules always.

2 Grown DD's both work in healthcare settings - 1 very sickly one who had it for 3 days and 1 who has also had nothing.

Have no explanation but cleary lucky

LiveLaughaandLovehun · 16/03/2022 15:53

Until today I could have joined in. Positive pcr result received this morning. Raging temperature yesterday, lft was negative but as symptomatic I pcr tested.

RunAwayNow · 16/03/2022 16:39

As far as we know, no one in our household or extended family has had it. Not a single one.
We are beginning to think that the 'weird cold' my db brought back from China in Jan 2020 and passed on to the rest of us was actually covid. Otherwise I don't understand how we have been so lucky (so far, touch wood etc etc)

Blueberry40 · 16/03/2022 16:48

I haven’t and neither has my DP. We’re expecting to get it at some point even though we’re now vaccinated and boosted. Most people I know have had it, including my DS who has had it on 3 separate occasions! Am sure it will get us at some point, we are really just living life as normal now and our protection will be waning so I don’t see how it can’t.

HellToupee · 16/03/2022 16:56

I hadn’t. Until today 🤦‍♀️ Gradually feeling worse. Walking home from my office (where I’ve been on my own all week) I felt like an old woman - EVERYTHING aches. Bollocks.

Mommabear20 · 16/03/2022 16:57

Family of 4 and none of us have had it.

SummersBreeze · 16/03/2022 16:59

I avoided covid so far. I followed the guidelines and I was serious about them. I still had to go to work and my partner works in a bar so I was nervous that an exposure would come from him.

I now have a close contact and a sore throat and I suspect the onset of covid.

ImInStealthMode · 16/03/2022 17:05

I haven't (at least not knowingly) and certainly since last summer I haven't been especially cautious, have got right back into doing normal life as soon as various restrictions have lifted, been on holiday 3 times since Summer 2020 etc. I've been in contact with people who've then tested positive a few times but nothing. My DP, my Mum and a couple of friends are the same.

I only test now if I have symptoms or am asked to ahead of an event etc, so I guess I wouldn't know anyway.

Lulu1919 · 16/03/2022 17:08

Not me and I work in a school have worked all the way through with vulnerable and KW kids etc etc

SparkleWhale · 16/03/2022 17:14

Never had it.

I've probably jinxed it now.

BiddyPop · 16/03/2022 17:15

Not knowingly.

WFH mostly throughout, Cub scout meetings were online or outdoors until last month, I haven't been socialising much at all in 2 years, and I've mostly stuck to driving myself not getting lifts or using public transport...and we've been fairly rigorous about masks, handwashing etc throughout.

Then again, I have had my Cub pack most weeks apart from summer holidays and actual lockdowns (we were meeting in a smaller group for a while but still meeting), DD has been going to school and lots of hockey throughout as well, and both DH and I have done some public transport and a small amount of socialising.

TheyCallMeJune · 16/03/2022 17:23

I hadn't had it until the beginning of this year and felt so smug and that my immune system was brilliant. I've had it twice since January!

intwrferingma · 16/03/2022 17:27

I haven't. But I feel it is only a matter of time now we're all back at it.

dreamingofstars · 16/03/2022 17:50

I hadn’t ( I work front line health care) until last Tuesday, after a hen weekend. Brought it home with me. I had a cold and started out as scratchy throat. 2.10 Dd also got it and for second time; upset tummy, and cold and cough. Partner in bed most of time with it.

Oblomov22 · 16/03/2022 17:51

Nope. None of us (4), afaik.

ellesbellesxxx · 16/03/2022 18:12

Until yesterday I hadn’t no 😭

XenoBitch · 16/03/2022 18:19

Not that I know of.

irregularegular · 16/03/2022 18:24

I'd never had until testing positive yesterday. My DD had it last year but none of us caught it from her. Also, I tested negative twice after developing symptoms before testing positive on the third day. I wonder how many people have done the same but stopped testing (yes, I know you are/were supposed to get a PCR, but...).

My DH and DS have still not had it. As far as we know.
