Has anyone else never had covid?

Just about everyone I know has now had covid at some point over last few years. It’s been in our household twice and we didn’t isolate from each other but I never tested positive. I have had times when I’ve felt ill and then found close contacts have tested positive so I’ve been sure I must have but always tested negative. Not complaining at all, if anything I consider myself lucky, just think it’s odd and I seem to be a minority.

I hadn’t until yesterday.

Peppermint81 · 16/03/2022 07:52

I haven't and proud! I've been careful, going out but wearing mask inside, sanitising hands and trying to keep distance where possible.
I wfh and triple vaccinated too which hope has helped!

Hope to avoid it for as long as possible as some have long term effects and no one know what damage it could do to your body in the future.

ISpyCobraKai · 16/03/2022 07:53

I haven't

spangleswereace · 16/03/2022 07:54

Myself and the kids haven't had it, husband had it a few weeks ago.

megletthesecond · 16/03/2022 07:54

I haven't. I haven't been ill and I've been testing for the last 12 months. My teen had it and avoided it.

I went back to the gym 2 weeks ago so my days are probably numbered.

supadupapupascupa · 16/03/2022 07:54

Dd and I not had it yet

Clevs · 16/03/2022 07:55

I haven't and am amazed that I haven't too because I work on the frontline treating patients with it!

SquigglePigs · 16/03/2022 07:56

My household has but my parents haven't and I know a few friends who haven't either.

ENoeuf · 16/03/2022 07:56

Was just thinking this. I was really ill in Feb 2020 before testing - chest infection ten days after feeling unwell, cough that lasted a couple
months, couldn’t get out of bed due to headache - family were going to get medical help and I refused. We had a couple of local cases and it was all ‘oh have you got that new thing hahah.’
Since then never tested positive, done twice weekly tests, half the household family have had covid, some twice and three of us have never caught it as far as we know.

pastypirate · 16/03/2022 07:57

Not had it and I'm from line in social care

coloradoqueen · 16/03/2022 07:57

I could've written your post, until last week 😂 I was convinced I had some magical immunity as I'd been in contact with it and not caught it several times.

Alsonification · 16/03/2022 07:58

Haven’t had it. And I’m a childminder & some of my mindees have had it so I’ve been a close contact many times but nothing. My dd had it & isolated in her room & no one caught it from her.
I’m putting it down to the fact that I’m around snotty babies so often, I have the immune system of the terminator Grin

applewhitenights · 16/03/2022 07:59

I work in healthcare very close to patients, so LFT everyday before work. Never once had a positive.

Ditto, though two weeks ago! It's knocked me flat, too.
scootalucy · 16/03/2022 07:59

I haven't and my household has - twice. It's odd.

Chickydoo · 16/03/2022 07:59

I've not succumbed, all 5 other family members have had it in the house, they were hopeless at isolating. There were points when I have been testing daily and have had several PCR's (due to what I thought might be Covid toe) all negative. I also work daily with people, so must have been exposed multiple times.
Very odd, however I'm not complaining.

Toty · 16/03/2022 08:00

Possibly. Possibly not. I'm not vaccinated , work out of the home and have done throughout and have never had covid, been a close contact 4 times, including my own ds who I didn't distance from🤷‍♀️.
Many of us have pre exisiting immunity.

I’m the same, actually spoke to my friend about how we thought some people must be immune. Now in the 4th week of being really unwell with covid, hospital admissions and everything 😭😭
ImAvingOops · 16/03/2022 08:00

I haven't had it either. In my house DS (aged 21) caught it from his friends and stayed in his room as much as possible but we were mixing before we knew he had it but no one else caught it at home. My parents and sister haven't had it, despite mixing and my sister working everyday.
I'm not even being that careful anymore - I go to my exercise class and shopping and out for dinner and see my friend who works in a hospital.

mrsed1987 · 16/03/2022 08:01

I haven't as far as I know, nor my son. My husband tested positive for the first time on Monday.

We are key worker so been testing pretty regularly since testing began.

MsTSwift · 16/03/2022 08:02

I was feeling rather smug and invincible but tested positive yesterday and feel like hell.

Festivalpartygirl · 16/03/2022 08:02

Nope, not knowingly, had a chesty cold at very beginning of pandemic before 1st lockdown, similar to every previous cold that goes to my chest. DH hasn’t had it, he’s out and about with his job but I’m WFH for last 2 years but out and about, shops, gym, trains etc (I did get pinged a couple of weeks back as a close contact which I assume was from train) both DC have had it at very different times. Still waiting ……

Livpool · 16/03/2022 08:04

Me, DH and DS. Not have my DPs or PIL.

I'm relieved as my dad has incurable cancer and I am CEV. Most impressed DS hasn't (yet) picked it up in school. I was taking to someone in work yesterday and she has is for the third time!!!!

Maggiesgirl · 16/03/2022 08:07

Me, DH actually has it for the first time at the moment. All around me have had it at least once. Hoping I don't get it from DH as I'm finally get cortisone injection into my hip next Wednesday after appointment been delayed from November.

Same! plenty of covid exposure in work and nothing. Regular tests and a couple of antibody tests all negative. Don’t think I’m immune though I’m sure it will get me eventually but my siblings haven’t had it either and they are in public facing roles too.
