Second time for me. First time was July of 2020 (asymptomatic then)

How are you doing? What symptoms do you have? How long ago did it start for you?

I tested positive this morning after I had an inkling that my 'cold' could possibly be covid.

I have a mild cough, bit pleghmy and my body aches. I was hot and cold throughout the night so didn't sleep well at all. Very scary dreams too Confused

I have 3 young children, two of which started feeling unwell on Monday but are alot better now bar some snot. I'm a little worried about my baby though, he's 4 months. He seems fine during the day but during the night he sounds quite croaky and congested.

If anybody wants to keep us company whilst we recover that would be lovely as I'm a tiny bit nervous.

Day 5 here. Started with a very suspicious cough but negative LFT but during the last four days I’ll felt like utter crap. The worst sore throat ever, everything seems to be burning, feels like I’ve got massive amount of stomach acid/reflux/heartburn too. I’m either scoffing painkillers or sucking on a Gaviscon. One day was temperature and aches, when I slept loads, I’d take that over this bastard throat. I’m nervous to swallow it’s so bad.

My husband has treated umpteen Covid patients in the last two years, and I had to succumb to this just after the rules changed and he has to go to work for silly hours a day, so feeling hard done by over that! Would feel better having an adult about.

It’s a really horrible illness, can’t wait to feel better. Funnily enough will be paranoid about getting it again, won’t be going anywhere crowded in a hurry!

eggandonion · 13/03/2022 19:11

Both husband and I have had a week of it. It would be better if we had a grown up to mind us!

Divamuffin · 13/03/2022 19:58

Tested positive today although have had a cough since Friday. Apart from the cough, I feel okay…does it get worse as you go on?!

gettingalife · 13/03/2022 20:09

Day 13 for me and still feeling exhausted. Had a dreadful first few days (nausea, sore throat , chesty cough, breathless, chills, dry mouth) which improved by day 6 but now I'm constantly sleepy, aching and still breathless. Zero taste and smell and a really dry mouth still with little appetite. I'm still testing positive too. I'm in a fog and feel very muddled. Anyone else? Feel like I'm the only one it's lingering on and worried I'll never get better!

MountainDweller · 13/03/2022 20:41

DH tested positive today - he thought he had a cold. Started with a sore throat and aches, then mega snotty, dry cough and sinus pain.

Pretty sure I have it too but different symptoms - blocked nose (thought it was my chronic sinus problem), nausea (thought it was stress and my dose of IV pain meds on Friday) then headache, shaking and fever. Still in denial but will test tomorrow.

Can't believe we've got through two years and have it at possibly the last hurdle. Have been so careful too (I am higher risk). Ironically restrictions end here tomorrow, except for public transport and hospitals. All over, nothing to see here Hmm

MountainDweller · 13/03/2022 20:51

Oh and I have a yeast infection - anyone else?

Probably just part of being run down, but haven't had one for years...

AnImposter · 13/03/2022 21:18

Day 4 here... another one who thought I'd dodged it over the last two years. Triple jabbed etc. feel utterly shocking. days 1-2 was the most god awful back pain, so glad that's over. Day 3-4 it's in my face - blocked nose, sinuses, sneezing. Feeling nauseous tonight. Probably my chest will be where it moves next.

So much for this being just a mild cold!

Whataboutno · 13/03/2022 21:25

I think I am most shocked about the nausea, it's like early pregnancy all over again 🤢

CountrySpot · 13/03/2022 21:25

day 6 here, starting to improve but still very breathless and lethargic. The fought and cold have been horrific but it's clearing a bit now.

@MountainDweller raging yeast infection here too. Had to buy meds.

I had horrific vomiting on day 2 and 3. Took me right back to my hyperemesis days in pregnancy.
WhatTheWhoTheWhatThe · 13/03/2022 22:03

And now on day 7 the fatigue reminds me of post natal, had a blood transfusion but still feel like I could do with an extra pint of it!

Stormchaser1502 · 13/03/2022 22:15

Day 5 of symptoms, day 3 since tested positive.
Started with sinus pain and dizziness, fever, night sweats and all over body aches!!
That’s all easing but my chest is sooooo tight!! Scary!! Not sure what to do. 🤷🏻‍♀️
I can take a deep breath but I just seem breathless and a bit panicky

muffb · 14/03/2022 00:51

Dizziness has been the worst symptom for me, think it's due to high blood pressure which I've never suffered with before until last week so scared me a bit to start with. Generally the cold/cough symptoms haven't been too bad, mainly just a snotty nose, think the cough is starting to set in now slowly. I'm asthmatic (and a smoker) and have been scared about catching it but think I'm on day 4 today and managing okay so far.

Agree with other posters about a pulse oximeter, helps to put my mind at rest if I feel my chest is tight but then my oxygen levels are all okay, stops me from panicking.

Garfieldismyspiritanimal · 14/03/2022 07:46

Day 5 here, agree @muffb about the dizziness. What has also really surprised me is how non- linear it is. I can feel a bit better, try to do a little something (like put the washing on) and BAM I am breathless and dizzy and need to lie down!

Saucery · 14/03/2022 07:48

Confirmed positive this morning. Like a really bad cold but dizzy, head stuffed with cotton wool.

AuntieMarys · 14/03/2022 08:07

Still negative this morning. Runny nose or rather nostril. Been awake since 4 but up, showered, dressed and face on. More lfts coming today.

ancientgran · 14/03/2022 11:18

I'm waiting for GP call back. I did the online e consult and it told me to phone for an emergency appointment but receptionist took details and said GP would triage it. I suppose that means I might get a call back.

I went to see pharmacist first thing, the whites of my eyes are bright red, like my pupils are sitting in puddles of blood. Pharmacist said see a doctor it isn't conjunctivitis.

I'm so tired and feel so sick. 15 days and feeling worse and worse. I feel like I'm going to burst into tears. I wonder if the tears would be blood?

I have few similarities. I'm a smoker, asthmatic and the worst thing for me is the dizziness/being lightheaded too.

No idea what my blood pressure is though.

Gosh you poor woman. I hope you get a call back soon. I would really want to be seen if it were me, don't let them fob you off - especially if you think you have a chest infection too that needs antibiotics.

I've read quite a few accounts of people having that problem with their eyes so it's definitely not uncommon.

muffb · 14/03/2022 11:58

@Twentyn1ne yep I've only smoked about 3 cigarettes since Friday evening and each one made me feel terrible, I check my blood pressure before and then after and it goes up a considerable amount into numbers that scared me in honesty so I've not been smoking. The dizzy feeling is more like I go weak so have to hold onto things if I move and I'm slow at processing things like if someone is talking to me. I also have to keep "snapping" back into it. This lasts about 10 minutes after 1 smoke, but more than one cigarette can make it last for about an hour. Look after yourself, it has definitely scared me at times and I feel as though I have got away with it in some ways

Thank you for that, I suspect smoking is making the dizziness worse in my case too. I don't have means do check my blood pressure though. I'll leave off the cigarettes for a day and see if it helps.

I expect stress isn't helping with the lightheaded stuff either and I have a lot of that going on.

How long have you had the dizziness?

Verity226 · 14/03/2022 13:10

My smell and taste is on its way out.. oh lovely.

Had no appetite for days so just forced myself to have a bowl of tomato soup, it tasted like metallic water Confused

My adult Son has also lost his smell and taste, great that he works for a fragrance company. Between the 4 of us here, we’ve had every symptom going. I am about the least ill, but I went to bed last night feeling absolutely dreadful and woke choking and coughing during the night, to wake up this morning feeling better, but now lunchtime I’m feeling lousy again. Just eating bits and pieces.
Ciderisrosier · 14/03/2022 13:25

Day 2 for me. Awful body aches, sore throat and the cough has started now. Breathing is ok though. Little bit of effort and I’m wiped out and back lying down.
