Second time for me. First time was July of 2020 (asymptomatic then)

How are you doing? What symptoms do you have? How long ago did it start for you?

I tested positive this morning after I had an inkling that my 'cold' could possibly be covid.

I have a mild cough, bit pleghmy and my body aches. I was hot and cold throughout the night so didn't sleep well at all. Very scary dreams too Confused

I have 3 young children, two of which started feeling unwell on Monday but are alot better now bar some snot. I'm a little worried about my baby though, he's 4 months. He seems fine during the day but during the night he sounds quite croaky and congested.

If anybody wants to keep us company whilst we recover that would be lovely as I'm a tiny bit nervous.

Ancientgran I'm so glad you've been seen and I hope the antibiotics do their thing.

I definitely got the new fever, cough, snot and burning chest, 13 days after symptoms started and about 3 days after they'd seemed to be really clearing. Yesterday I got a telephone appt with my GP who said he was 99% sure it was a new virus infection and would go on its own. And i do feel a bit brighter today so hoping he was right, despite having to leave a meeting twice because of the coughing/feeling of being a leper! It's really easy to get scared by this thing isn't it... I wouldn't normally call the doc for a cold which it appears I've just done!

lollipoprainbow · 30/03/2022 20:45

My eyes and nose are absolutely streaming and itchy feel like I want to rip my face off !! Argh it's only day 2 as well.

Threeboysandadog · 30/03/2022 22:32

Ds3 (15) is day 12, still feeling tired but went back to school today. If I was going to catch it from him would I have symptoms by now? Am I safe yet?

MissMarpleRocks · 31/03/2022 06:51

@TypicaIMe

Day 19. Still positive.

Feeling dodgy on an off, today my throat feels sore again and I have that chest tightness/burning back. No cough thankfully. Permanently knackered, though.

I've had to pause my immunosuppressant medication for three weeks now so my RA is making its presence felt, too. The fatigue may well be down to that - the aching joints and inability to walk very far certainly is.

Had enough now.

I’m sorry to hear that. I was told to carry on with my RA medication especially the hydroxychloroquine. RA is hard enough without covid on top 💐

I’m day 9 & it’s more like a bad cold now rather than the flu type of last week.

TypicaIMe · 31/03/2022 07:06

@MissMarpleRocks do you mind me asking what you're on?

I inject methotrexate weekly and have been having steroid injections every few months because the RA is so active at the moment. I know that hydroxy and sulfasalazine aren't considered a risk with covid, unfortunately that combo didn't work for me.

I'm currently relying on codeine three times a day which isn't great but needs must.

TypicaIMe · 31/03/2022 07:06

Oh and day 20, still very clearly positive Sad

MissMarpleRocks · 31/03/2022 07:18

Day 9 still positive

Yes I take leflunomide. I used to be on MTX & steroids & the hydroxy for around 5 years but really worked for me. The RA was so active. Hydroxychloroquine & leflunomide is a much better combo for me. I’m waiting for the covid to have hit my RA once I get back to normal.

I hope you feel better soon.

ApolloandDaphne · 31/03/2022 08:17

Are people who are still testing positive after 10 days still staying at home? I plan to get to day 10, test then no matter what go about my business. I will still be wearing a mask as I am in Scotland.

MissMarpleRocks · 31/03/2022 08:46

I would imagine it’s also how you feel? If I feel like a do today I’ll be lucky to get out of bed never mind out & about!

Just rang GP as I feel worse & it’s a 48hour turnaround for appointments. They said if I deteriorate substantially then to call back.

It’s probably better as it gives me a couple more days I suppose.

lollipoprainbow · 31/03/2022 16:01

Feel a bit better today (day 3) not nearly as snotty and sneezy. Just been made a cold lemsip by my dd dad Confused

MissMarpleRocks · 01/04/2022 10:05

Day 10 still positive! Slightly better than yesterday but not much. Think has gone to my sinuses. So waiting for gp to call.

TypicaIMe · 01/04/2022 10:11

I HAVE TESTED NEGATIVE!

Three weeks after my first positive.

Now all I need to do is stop feeling as if I'm going to keel over when I stand up and get rid of this headache/burning chest!

ancientgran · 01/04/2022 10:22

Well I think it is day 33 and day 3 on antibiotics and I am starting to feel vaguely human. Didn't have a good night as I cough more when I lie down, I'm thinking of sleeping on the sofa tonight as if I prop myself up with pillows in bed I slide down but length of sofa means I sort of stay in position better.

The good news? Well being ill, being unable to go out means I've ended the month firmly in the black and have transferred some money into savings. It would need to be tens of thousands to be worth it for how I've felt but I'll take my wins where I can and I have a few hundred to help with bills so that is good.

Hope everyone is doing OK and if it's dragging on do see a doctor, I wish I'd pushed more for an appointment last week.

ancientgran · 01/04/2022 10:24

The other good news is I've finished my antiviral study so my daily filling in the surveys is over. I did mine a day late twice but I did do all 28 and given the last 4 weeks that feels like an achievement.

Verity226 · 01/04/2022 16:45

God I'm fed up of feeling like crap.

I posted the other day saying I thought I might have caught a cold from my friend when we went out on Sunday, I don't think that's the case after all. I think what I'm experiencing is the common post covid stuff, that comes and goes.

I think I'm going to call my GP surgery on Monday and see what they suggest. Probably vitamins or something. I don't think I have a rebound bacterial infection.

I just feel completely wiped out, no motivation or energy, upset stomach, occasional nausea, spaced out (similar to how I felt when I was on day 4-8!)

It's so frustrating as I've done the "I feel fine now" severeal times, resumed normal activities, to then feel rubbish again. I'm definitely negative now.

Ancientgran that's a great update, I'm so hoping you manage to kick this awful virus soon. Saving £ is definitely a silver lining to being cooped up, though as you said I would want thousands in return for that crap Grin

MissMarple, you seem to be on a similar trajectory to me. It went to my sinuses on day 10 too. Dear lord the amount of snot I produced was like nothing I've ever seen before.

TypicalMe - great news on testing negative, 3 weeks later though jeez Shock

Hope everybody else is doing OK. I'm going to go and lay in the bath for as long as my DC allow. I feel half dead today

DH and I are now positive. Hoping the teen kids don't get it.

DH probably had it in March 2020, no test as he was mild but unable to exercise hard since without really fast pulse and chest pains. Consultant reckons long covid

EmilyEmmabob · 02/04/2022 09:49

I'm really confused by the 'rules' and the morals issue. So today is day 11 and I'm still positive, I've got watery eyes and a cold which went away but have come back. Does anyone know if I would still be infectious? Am I infectious as long as I have positive tests? I thought I was negative and on the mend yesterday but when I've checked again there is a light line. Do I just go about my business after day 10 regardless?

I know the guidelines are to just do what I want with no isolation but I'm not doing that. I don't want to infect my parents or my colleagues and students.

MissMarpleRocks · 02/04/2022 10:13

Morning I’m day 11 & still positive. Anyway GP has given me antibiotics for sinus infection so feel marginally better this morning.

Definitely call your GP verity & see what they suggest.

Dh has isn’t feeling too good & thinks this second bout of covid has affected his long covid. He was diagnosed with heart scarring following covid in 2020. So I’m trying to persuade him to call GP. If he refuses which I think I’ll send in the big guns AKA his no nonsense brother.

🤞 we all start feeling better soon

Rassy · 02/04/2022 10:42

@EmilyEmmabob after 10 days you are considered no longer infectious so can go out and about as you wish! Don't need a negative test after 10 days to get out of isolation

EmilyEmmabob · 02/04/2022 10:58

Thank you! A few people around me didn't think this was the case so it's good to have it confirmed.

I still feel like rubbish, I hope everyone starts to feel better soon.

Chocolatetrifle · 02/04/2022 12:36

Hi everyone, I posted earlier on this thread. All 4 of us here had covid with my 2 year old finally testing negative on Wednesday at day 10. However, since me and my 4 year old recovered from covid the week before, I've had an ear infection last weekend and me and my 4 year old have today developed norovirus symptoms. Has this happened to anyone else?

Hope everyone feels better soon.

Jules912 · 02/04/2022 13:48

@EmilyEmmabob you're very unlikely to be infectious after 10 days, I went out from day 11 but did make sure to wear a mask inside. I did decide not to visit someone in hospital until testing negative but they are very vulnerable.

Lifeispassingby · 02/04/2022 16:38

Are those currently with covid still resting until 2 negative tests? Or finishing the isolation after 5 days regardless of test (or not bothering to test)?

goldenlilliesdaffodillies · 02/04/2022 17:10

Day 14- still testing positive and still feeling ill- so exhausted.

Stormchaser1502 · 02/04/2022 17:27
