Second time for me. First time was July of 2020 (asymptomatic then)

How are you doing? What symptoms do you have? How long ago did it start for you?

I tested positive this morning after I had an inkling that my 'cold' could possibly be covid.

I have a mild cough, bit pleghmy and my body aches. I was hot and cold throughout the night so didn't sleep well at all. Very scary dreams too Confused

I have 3 young children, two of which started feeling unwell on Monday but are alot better now bar some snot. I'm a little worried about my baby though, he's 4 months. He seems fine during the day but during the night he sounds quite croaky and congested.

If anybody wants to keep us company whilst we recover that would be lovely as I'm a tiny bit nervous.

Positive test this morning. Felt I had a cold coming on last night and woke up with a sore throat. DH also positive. Never had any signs throughout the pandemic and thought we were immune.

OrlandointheWilderness · 13/03/2022 10:17

Hello, day 1 of my first bout! Cold like, achy, coughing and headache. Lovely!!

Winday · 13/03/2022 10:27

1st time infection here. We think 10yo DD brought it home from school, only 13yo DS has dodged it so far. Day 6 for me, still testing a strong positive on the LFT, was hoping I'd be out of isolation quicker than the 10 days we still need to do. Feeling like a heavy cold now, blocked nose, slight sinus headache, slight cough. But I'm definitely over the worst of it.

OrlandointheWilderness · 13/03/2022 10:47

I'm not liking this isolation thing, I'm getting twitchy already 😂

badamsgirl · 13/03/2022 11:06

Tested positive on friday after a few days of heavy cold like symptoms (sore, tickley throat, very snotty and congested) Now i guess day 2 (though i had shadows on tests before very positive test on friday) Headache comes and goes, coughing now and then, taste is very dulled and i am very achy especially in my lower legs which have be protesting very loudly when i attempt to go up the stairs! This is my 2nd lot of covid, but i think i had barely any symptoms last time and if not for a cough i wouldn't of tested.

Bickles · 13/03/2022 11:06

Just had a negative LFT day 8 (I think!)

Defrump · 13/03/2022 11:17

Got a positive result yesterday. Been feeling poorly for at least ten days. Started with a severe headache then came the sore throat then sneezing and bad phlegmy cough. My husband is rarely ill and was slightly delirious a couple of days before I started to feel unwell. Lots of dizziness for me too.
Scary dreams yep. This is not Omicron it's much worse.

Sunflowersinthewind · 13/03/2022 11:23

I've been thinking that. There seems to be a lot of people with more than just a mild cold.

StillTheOneIRunToooooo · 13/03/2022 11:41

I am feeling very aggrieved that I’m triple vaccinated, had what was definitely Delta and have still been floored by this. Definitely is not the ‘mild cold’ Omnicron that people were talking about in January.

Verity226 · 13/03/2022 11:41

It's probably that new deltacron variant, no way is it just omicron IMO.

I did another lateral flow, quietly hoping the line would at least be a but more faint than Friday. Nope. You could see it from outer space. It shows up within seconds, way before the control line. Big, dark, fat positive Envy

It's on the move here, the sore throat has started this morning.

Tested positive yesterday. Was starting to think we were immune as we’ve all been in th middle of outbreaks and nothing.

Ive got contacts with school related infections and work related infections so one of them must have been strong enough for me.

I’m snotty and achy. Congested and chest is wheezy. Not sleeping though. Currently stuck in my bedroom. DH negative and dd2 and 3 are ok so far. Ds is at cub camp so hopefully fine but he’s the only one of us that have had it so far (& fairly recently) so likely to be.

Garfieldismyspiritanimal · 13/03/2022 12:22

Another DS just tested positive - so that is all 5 of us down with it now. Felt good enough to have a shower and get into clean pjs but now a bit dizzy so back in bed. Sore throat is back.

OrlandointheWilderness · 13/03/2022 12:56

Just attempting bacon sandwich for lunch. It doesn't taste right!! It doesn't taste of much at all!!!!! Noooo!

ancientgran · 13/03/2022 13:20

Anyone had the antibody test? I found out I'd apparently already had covid, no idea when. How could I have it and not notice and then have it and feel as ill as I do? My eyes are driving me mad, they are so dry and itchy it hurts. I have eye drops but they give relief for secons.

I'm not coughing as much but my chest feels like I am raw in side.

WhatTheWhoTheWhatThe · 13/03/2022 13:23

Yeah day 7 big fat red line still on the LTF that showed up before the fluid had even reached the top of the window.

Whataboutno · 13/03/2022 14:42

Anyone feel ok in the morning but worse by the afternoon?

Twentyn1ne · 13/03/2022 14:44

@Whataboutno

Anyone feel ok in the morning but worse by the afternoon?
Yep me, much worse as the day goes on
Whataboutno · 13/03/2022 14:49

I guess that's the same with most bugs, just feels like this one's worse 😂

AuntieMarys · 13/03/2022 14:55

Woke in the night with cold/ sore throat. Tested negative this morning.
Don't feel ill, just as if I have a bit of a cold. Eating for England.

Saucery · 13/03/2022 15:22

Had sore throat, headache, fatigue and temp spikes since Friday, but LFTs negative. I’m no stranger to colds, working with primary age children, but this does feel different.
Yy to the dreams! Long, complicated cinematic ones, all dead relatives and Backrooms, as I always get with a fever.

spanglyspaniel · 13/03/2022 15:53

DH had bad cough and felt weary, tested positive on LFT on Tuesday, I was feeling slightly meh, but ok but DD(2) had bad cough so took her for PCR on the Wednesday and did myself too, both came back negative...! BUT on Friday early afternoon I suddenly started to feel not right at all - slight sore throat but worst was I was dizzy and like I was going to pass out, and just needed to lie down - did LFT and up popped the line straight away. DS2 (also 2, twin) was sent home from nursery with a cough on Thursday, so PCR for him on the Friday morning and despite only having cough as symptom he was positive. Other DS(8) is negative and fine at the moment.
I'm struggling - the DTs are fine other than the cough and bouncing off the walls, I have absolutely zero energy, I feel almost seasick dizziness, and v sore throat and stuffy head and achey. I really need this to improve soon as kids need me to be functioning..😢

eggandonion · 13/03/2022 15:59

@Saucery i am glad you mentioned eating for England. I am starving!

Xanadu58 · 13/03/2022 16:17

Day 5 for me. Haven't had it before . Started with a really sore throat and developed into full blown cold symptoms . Sneezing, runny nose, headache and fever . Started to get a dry cough as well now . Just feel so tired and fed up and not able to do much.

Phormiumjester · 13/03/2022 16:34

The seasickness, the chills, the energy sap and the dreams were the worst bits for me.

I've done stuff round the house today and I still feel tired even though it's gone.

Its grim and I'd rather not go again but I'm not scared of it now. It's been a rough week but I've still been able to work, eat and watch a bit of RV of an evening.

There's hope, folk! Keep safe x

Garfieldismyspiritanimal · 13/03/2022 17:38

Did a 10 minute walk with the dog then had to sleep for an hour!

Ridiculous illness.
