Second time for me. First time was July of 2020 (asymptomatic then)

How are you doing? What symptoms do you have? How long ago did it start for you?

I tested positive this morning after I had an inkling that my 'cold' could possibly be covid.

I have a mild cough, bit pleghmy and my body aches. I was hot and cold throughout the night so didn't sleep well at all. Very scary dreams too Confused

I have 3 young children, two of which started feeling unwell on Monday but are alot better now bar some snot. I'm a little worried about my baby though, he's 4 months. He seems fine during the day but during the night he sounds quite croaky and congested.

If anybody wants to keep us company whilst we recover that would be lovely as I'm a tiny bit nervous.

I have Covid at moment... Sore throat started Tues afternoon.. Went to work Wednesday having neg LFT in the morning. Tested positive Wednesday evening. No idea what day I'm on really. So far, I've had mild chills, no high temp, cold symptoms, can smell / taste everything. My daughter had bad headaches and nausea with it the week before. I've had none of that . We're both triple vaxxed.

I've been perimenopausal for 6 years so used to weird things going on with my body and covid, so far 🤞, has been a breeze compared to peri. I'm tired and snotty but even reorganised the bedroom yesterday as I was bored. I'd normally work FT Mon to Fri.

First time for me and feeling pretty rotten. I’m a Reception Teacher and was shielding as was classed as CEV (asthmatic).

Been through my friends, family and school like wildfire last few weeks so knew I wouldn’t escape it this time.

Symptoms started Monday (scratchy throat, fatigue, sneezing) so am on Day 6 from start of symptoms but Day 3 from positive test. Test result was immediately a big fat dark red line before the control line even started to appear. Symptoms now increased to sinus pressure, tight chest, slight cough and brain fog on top of the original ones. Pretty much been in bed for days now. Got up and had a shower earlier and was so breathless I called an ambulance but cancelled it an hour later as I’d got back on top of my breathing. Apparently it was going to take up to four and a half hours so good job I felt better. Rubbish virus, absolutely not mild in any shape or form.

Get well soon all x

Day 6 and still positive, feel ok just so bored and low, desperate to get back to work and a normal routine.

Lifeispassingby · 03/04/2022 17:08

@lollipoprainbow are you waiting for negative tests before ending isolation?

Fireblanket · 03/04/2022 17:26

Day 2. So far I've only been sniffly, coughy and achy. Fluey but not as ill as I've been with the actual flu.
Am triple jabbed, but very cautious as I know I'm still very early days...

lollipoprainbow · 03/04/2022 17:27

Yeah I'm not allowed back to work until 2 negatives. Once the ten days are up I think I'll stop isolating.

Creams0da · 03/04/2022 19:01

Triple jabbed, tested positive yesterday morning before visiting an elderly relative. Didn't have any symptoms when I tested, but developed a scratchy throat that 'coming down with something' feeling in my sinuses last night. Have had an on/off mild sore throat today. Feeling generally fine but suspect this is the calm before the storm...

ancientgran · 05/04/2022 19:36

So I think I'm day 37. Day 7 of antibiotics.

Dr has given me a prescription for stronger antibiotics for another week, I have a suspected broken rib from coughing and I'm just waiting to hear about appointment for xray.

So it has been a bundle of fun so far, the rib pain is excruciating when I cough and I cough alot.

I swear if I hear, "Covid is mild now" one more time I will commit murder. My mitigating circumstances will be that the balance of my mind is disturbed by a combination of pain and lack of sleep. That isn't a lie, both are torture and put them together and it is just unbearable.

treedragon · 06/04/2022 08:35

Day 13/14 here. Been testing negative since Sunday but still phlegmy and snotty with a cough on and off. The inside of my left nostril is very sore and tender.

treedragon · 06/04/2022 09:46

@ancientgran

It seems when they mean mild they mean not in hospital. It should really be serious and upped to life threatening if in hospital. People might take it more seriously then. But I guess it wouldn’t dance with the political agenda for the previous economy. I mean people need to stop working from home so junk sandwich shops and Pret A Manger can still thrive.

4 weeks on and nose still a tap full of thick green snot and cough ever present, when will it fuck off!?

worriedatthistime · 11/04/2022 09:13

Yes second time in 2 months

worriedatthistime · 11/04/2022 09:17

Dh has had it as well first negative test he had today day 6 , hoping he gets another negative tomorrow and I follow same pattern as assume with 2 negatives won't likely be contagious
The new guidelines are a mess
Basically if you don't test but think you have covid symptoms it just says stay home uhtil feel better , where if you test it says 5/10 days and from test date now , not symptoms

custardbear · 11/04/2022 09:22

I had what seemed like a cold/hay fever last Tuesday. Woke up Wednesday and felt dreadful although paracetamol sorted it out. Positive result. Isolated from my family but it was too more, DH and DS had positive results on Friday and DD on Saturday.
I had a negative yesterday - still feel tired, but my symptoms were very much cough cold and tired
Hope everyone else feels ok soon

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 11/04/2022 09:28

I had a cough for 6 days (2 negative lfts). Woke up last Thusday morning with a bright red rash all over my torso. Tested again and showed positive immediately. Still positive at most recent test (yesterday morning).
Still got the cough, rash has gone down slightly. However I feel fine (just itchy!).

lollipoprainbow · 12/04/2022 08:17

Has anyone had a kind of relapse?! I had a head cold feeling for a couple of days then that went away and I felt ok, two weeks later I feel Coldy, achey and my chest is wheezy.

rc22 · 12/04/2022 11:42

I had it the first time in June 2020. Had most of the classic original symptoms. Fever (although it only last a couple of hours) breathlessness, fatigue and loss of taste and smell. Only symptom I didn't have was a cough.

I started coughing last Thursday and did a ltf which was negative. Lost my voice on Friday and continued to cough. Had a positive ltf on Friday night. Coughing, headachy and exhausted on Saturday and Sunday. My cough is much better today and I feel better in myself but now I have a fuzzy head and snotty nose. It's been more like a cold than the first time around which felt very much like a strange, new illness.

Lovemusic33 · 12/04/2022 11:50

Day 3 but only tested positive this morning. Main symptom is the scratchy throat and dry cough, symptoms started with a head ache and scratchy throat 2 days ago. No temperature and taste is fine, nose a bit snotty and legs a bit achy.

This is my 2nd time too, had it in September last year with hardly any symptoms.
