Second time for me. First time was July of 2020 (asymptomatic then)

How are you doing? What symptoms do you have? How long ago did it start for you?

I tested positive this morning after I had an inkling that my 'cold' could possibly be covid.

I have a mild cough, bit pleghmy and my body aches. I was hot and cold throughout the night so didn't sleep well at all. Very scary dreams too Confused

I have 3 young children, two of which started feeling unwell on Monday but are alot better now bar some snot. I'm a little worried about my baby though, he's 4 months. He seems fine during the day but during the night he sounds quite croaky and congested.

If anybody wants to keep us company whilst we recover that would be lovely as I'm a tiny bit nervous.

Day 3 and I have the most horrendous sore throat. Ive used difflam spray, Lidocane throat lozenges, day nurse and naproxen and NOTHING is touching it at all. Every swallow is painful

I can feel my nose getting blocked on/of and I keep going tired and have jelly legs.

My GP text after I registered my positive LFT on the NHS app and told me to call if I was worried about my symptoms. My local NHS CCG have a Covid Oximetry at home service and they text me to see if I wanted use of an oximeter while I was positive. I said yes and 4 hours later a courier delivered it with instructions and a monitoring diary to fill in.

I like so many of you thought I’d dodged it for two years , my oh and dd caught it at Xmas but I didn’t so thought I was bullet proof
However I started to feel poorly on Thursday sore throat , headache & a head cold . The test was negative on Thursday but positive yesterday
I’m feeling crap no energy & to top it off my dd has a sore throat I’m waiting for her to wake up and do a test 🙈

BigButtons · 26/03/2022 08:07

@Verity226 it depends where the infected area is. Mine was clearly in my sinuses. (Again), as the amount of snot I was producing went from waterfall levels to almost nothing once I started the pills.
My bladder also feels less irritated.
I am scared by the amount I want to sleep now. It’s much worse than 2 weeks ago.

EventuallyDelighted · 26/03/2022 08:07

Yes, I thought I had a super-immune system having dodged it several times even just since Christmas. Day 13 now (been negative since day 9) but still tiring very easily and getting frustrated, I just want to get back to normal.

Saucery · 26/03/2022 09:05

I still think my immune system is a bit super. Worked in a primary school all the way through the pandemic, was a close contact to poorly children many, many times. There’s no way I wasn’t exposed to Covid. I just think that with the prevalence of it now with BA.2 means the viral load was just too much.
I felt really down with the tiredness this week, like I’ll never get up and go again. But we can’t think like that. This will pass. We will get back to normal.

BigButtons · 26/03/2022 10:13

@Saucery same here. Our school got off relatively lightly throughout the last 2 years. Now we are overwhelmed with it. This new variant seems really contagious.

Stormchaser1502 · 26/03/2022 10:25

Is this the new omicron variant ? Thinking it’s called deltacron?

I’ve never know anything like it tbh. Felt horrific. Would love to know if I had the original omicron or the new omicron. But have no idea of telling I guess?

Sorry to those still suffering. I’m day 17 today and still wiped if I do anything. But the fog is definitely lifting

LittleWins · 26/03/2022 11:18

I’m on day 4 now and feeling a lot better.

Very achy and breathing is still quite deep but coughing has stopped.

Chocolatetrifle · 26/03/2022 12:34

I'm on day 12 now and testing negative since day 10 but I feel wiped out and started with earache last night. Don't feel over it by any means yet but hopefully feel better soon, take it easy when you can. I'm also taking a vitamin supplement drink at the moment.

NoisyBrain · 26/03/2022 13:14

DS and I have joined the Covid club today after avoiding it for 2 years!

My symptoms started yesterday, but felt just like I was getting a cold. I'm a bit wheezy today, very occasional cough and have a headache , but so far that's it. I'm making myself rest as I know it could get worse, but I'm really bad at doing nothing!

DS has been a bit sneezy and clearing his throat a lot since Thursday, but he gets hay fever and has exactly the same symptoms every spring. Feels fine other than that. As one of his school friends tested positive yesterday, I thought it was best just to check. Bugger.

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 26/03/2022 14:27

Thank you @Chocolatetrifle hope you start to feel back to normal soon
Good reminder to take it easy - however I've promised to take DD1 to a gig tonight & as much as I would love not to go, I don't think DD1 would love me if I didn't go with her.
She was having kittens about whether I'd be negative (at least 2 days running) in time for the gig.

MissMarpleRocks · 26/03/2022 16:00

Day 4 I think & I’ve spent most of it sleeping. Can’t believe I dodged it for 2 years & feeling quite rough with it.

IEatChocolateForBreakfast · 26/03/2022 16:10

Day 1 or 2 for me. Felt a scratchy throat coming on Friday. DC tested positive then. Seemed to have a minor scratchy throat yesterday and suspected, but didn't want to waste a test until I was sure. Woke up today a bit stuffed. Wasn't sure if it was allergies or covid. Tested positive about 10am. By 1pm I felt totally fine. Nose has cleared and no scratchy throat so took my DC in the buggy down the high street and to the park since we both felt fine. I've basically gone about my day as normal, as I suspect many people have.

The first time I had it was Feb. I did exactly the same thing. Although I didn't even have a scratchy throat or anything then.

popandchoc · 26/03/2022 17:11

I tested positive today . Had a bit of a sniffly nose last couple of days (dd1 tested positive Tues) and was worse this morning . Got a bit of a headache too but just feels like a cold so far . Just hope is better than last time I had it .

EmilyEmmabob · 26/03/2022 17:37

Day 4 - full of cold and sheer exhaustion are my main symptoms although it all started with earache and a headache. Sporadic chills too but no raised temperature, I'm keeping up with paracetamol though which might be keeping it stable.
I thought I was invincible, I've worked the whole time and I've only just caught it. Starting to feel a bit sick today.

Threeboysandadog · 27/03/2022 02:46

Ds, day 8 and negative today so 🤞 he will be good to go tomorrow. Does anyone know what the incubation period is. When will I know that I’m safe?

We have a medical appointment on Tuesday which was postponed from almost two months ago. I really, really don’t want to cancel but neither do I want to put anyone at risk. Presumably, if I test negative on Tuesday morning it will be ok to go.

EventuallyDelighted · 27/03/2022 07:24

I would have thought so @Threeboysandadog. Symptoms seem to be appearing before positive tests for many though, so if you develop any of those you might have to cancel 🤞for you.

fortyfourfeasts · 27/03/2022 20:01

Hello all. Day 16 here. Been gradually getting better but today... Confused
Chesty cough, feeling absolutely knackered, even felt a little breathless. I feel like I've been under the weather for years. I keep looking at all the stuff I need to get done around the house and I can summon no energy or enthusiasm to do it.
Grrr. Bloody Covid!

Chocolatetrifle · 27/03/2022 20:25

Evening all, I went straight from testing negative on day 10 to getting an inner ear infection yesterday so now I'm now on antibiotics. I'm sure it's covid related. dS2 (2) still positive on day 7. Get well soon everyone.

Annoyingnamechangerperson · 28/03/2022 16:28

Hi all, I’m day 5 now, still got thick black lines. I’m supposed to be going away camping on Monday next week with my children. Really hoping I can go.
I got diagnosed with pleurisy yesterday and a secondary bacterial infection so on antibiotics.

It’s so. Weird I felt ok ish yesterday and today I’ve just napped all day. I’ve never felt so wiped out with an illness before.
Has anyone been ok by day 10?

I’m determined to get my holiday 🙈

MyBottomDecides · 28/03/2022 20:13

Everyone who seems to have relapsed, was it like getting a cold?

I'm on day 14 of proper symptoms, day 16 since the pre-symptom fatigue and brain fog, and day 12 since testing positive, whichever one of those is the relevant starting mark. Better bar the tiredness for about 3 days and really thought I was through this. But on Sunday morning I woke up with a gritty throat and nose, and since have had a streaming nose, burning chest and cough, as well as some shivers. WTF? Surely I can't have caught it again... it seems more likely that I've just got a cold on the rebound, but it all seems very odd...

MyBottomDecides · 28/03/2022 20:14

So sorry that some if you have got secondary infections- really hope the me do their jobs and see you right soon

WhatTheWhoTheWhatThe · 28/03/2022 20:15

Yes exactly the same. Had felt I was getting over the fatigue and then boom scratchy sore throat, sinus headache and generally feeling crap. I admit I’m wondering if I’ve just caught something else
fortyfourfeasts · 28/03/2022 21:40

Yes. Feel the same. I spoke to a nurse practitioner this morning (despite asking for a doctor Hmm) and she said that I've probably caught a virus Confused She seemed rather bemused when I said I've not been anywhere nor been near anyone to catch one!
I'm so fed up with this.

MyBottomDecides · 28/03/2022 21:46

"I admit I’m wondering if I’ve just caught something else"

That might be the best scenario!

Interesting that we've experienced the same pattern though, which suggests otherwise...
