Second time for me. First time was July of 2020 (asymptomatic then)

How are you doing? What symptoms do you have? How long ago did it start for you?

I tested positive this morning after I had an inkling that my 'cold' could possibly be covid.

I have a mild cough, bit pleghmy and my body aches. I was hot and cold throughout the night so didn't sleep well at all. Very scary dreams too Confused

I have 3 young children, two of which started feeling unwell on Monday but are alot better now bar some snot. I'm a little worried about my baby though, he's 4 months. He seems fine during the day but during the night he sounds quite croaky and congested.

If anybody wants to keep us company whilst we recover that would be lovely as I'm a tiny bit nervous.

@TypicaIMe I really feel for you. I am glad you are reassured that there is not infection.
This strain does seem to be quite unpleasant💐

wurlycurlywurly · 22/03/2022 11:24

It's been two weeks since my positive and I still have a low grade fever (37.9). Has anyone else had this? Frustrating as the advice is you can only attend certain places (eg hospital/nursery etc) if you don't have a temp. Been feeling okay other than tiredness and a bit shaky/weak.

Hi all. I'm Day 11. Still testing positive. Wasn't going to test but my mum would like to come and see me and I wanted to be sure it's gone. But no. Sad
Slightly less blocked up today but the fatigue isn't going anywhere.

BigButtons · 22/03/2022 18:01

@fortyfourfeasts you can test positive for quite some time after you are no longer contagious. The government does not recommend testing after day 10. After that you are supposed to go by how you are feeling.

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 22/03/2022 18:45

Day 4 feel a bit better but sense of smell is beginning to go & feel very tired.
My skin is also sensitive to the touch

Blizy · 22/03/2022 18:48

Day 7 for me, I'm still testing positive but feeling much better. Just like a cold now.
1 yr old dd is on day 10 her test is as positive as day 1 and has another temperature. It's never bloody ending...

Huggy1975 · 23/03/2022 08:10

Positive this morning 😰
Had a stiff neck and shoulders from Saturday and then started with cold symptoms yesterday, did an lft and it was negative, had a terrible evening last night with sweats, cough, light headedness and a panic attack (which i’ve not had for 15 years!) tested this morning and super positive 😞 slightly relieved as I was so out of sorts yesterday I thought I was going mad! 🤯🤯 The worst for me right now is the stiffness in my neck and my cotton head, just feel really 😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫

SunburstsOrMarbleHalls · 23/03/2022 12:55

Clear positive LFT this morning, step son came to visit on Sunday and he tested positive on Monday.

Yesterday I had a sore throat and horrible earache all day, today I woke feeling a bit grotty. My partner is CV and due to travel to Amsterdam with work on Monday and mum is 88 and CEV so thought best to check.

This afternoon I can feel my neck starting to feel stiff and achy, the earache and sore throat is has returned too.

Just taken some pharmacy strength day nurse capsules and got a hot water bottle for my ear.

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 23/03/2022 14:18

Day 5 still strong positive but starting to feel better but sooooooo tired & skin feels tingly when touched

Chocolatetrifle · 23/03/2022 14:47

Day 8 for me , still testing positive. DH is day 5 and tested negative today. Ds1, negative from yesterday and dS2 is positive. I've had very achey legs and pains in the legs and have a chesty cough with it.

Iamanunsafebuilding · 23/03/2022 16:09

@BigButtons

Is anyone going to bother testing once they get to day 10? I am on day 11 and my day ten line was faint but clearly positive still.
Nope! I'm on day 8 and had a positive test this morning so that's it for me, I won't test tomorrow and then I'm free on Friday which is day 10
Saucery · 23/03/2022 18:47

Day 13 for me. Haven’t tested since Day 11, which was clear.
Still dizzy, headache that will only go for a while with Ibruprofen, not paracetamol and tinnitus, but feel much, much better than I did.
Off work this week, couldn’t manage in a packed classroom where I would be the adult in charge, because there are so many staff off.
I’ve seen too many colleagues come back too early then have to go off for longer.

dillydallydollydaydream7 · 23/03/2022 20:16

Tested negative this morning on day 5 but I feel like I'm going to throw up.. anyone else had this?

LittleWins · 23/03/2022 22:02

I could have written this myself! Started with a stiff neck. I knew something was up and on the third day of testing I got a line almost immediately.

BigButtons · 24/03/2022 11:33

Bloody shitting covid. Day 13. Went back to work yesterday- half day. Woke up this morning feeling shocking. Blinding headache. Snot pouring out of me, hacking cough, all my teeth hurt, sinus pressure. Feel so dizzy. Like I am about to faint. Terrible nausea- if I eat it is even worse.
Stood in my heads ossicle and bust into tears . Was told not to come back until Monday at the earliest.
My work colleagues all said I looked really dreadful.
I felt so much better 2 days ago☹️

hullabaloo68 · 24/03/2022 12:25

I'm on day 4 first time I've had it had a terrible dream the night before I tested positive. I feel like I've got flu and keep having to lay down and nap. My son has it now I'm worried about them because they have auto immune diseases including ME

Redsquirrel5 · 24/03/2022 22:57

I started on Tuesday night feeling very tired but I had been volunteering a lot this last fortnight. A bit of coughing but asthmatic so thought it was that and cold as near an opening. Felt really exhausted and rang to say unwell and I slept most of yesterday and all of last night( unusual) LFT negative yesterday, did one about 12 today and positive line. Horrendous headache yesterday and earache, today Head more thick and earache comes and goes. Felt nauseous on Tuesday. Limbs aching today, slight temperature, joints really painful. Tight chest and sore throat. Ice cream helped.

Annoyingnamechangerperson · 24/03/2022 23:22

Hi,
Looking for a bit of reassurance really been on Google and terrified myself.
I tested positive for Covid yesterday. I felt absolutely shockingly awful yesterday genuinely never felt as ill in my entire life.
I had a temperature of 41+c after paracetamol and ibuprofen.
I hurt to touch everywhere, just felt absolutely awful all day in pain all over my body with the worst headache and cough and fever.

I’ve thankfully woke today feeling better than yesterday, temperature under control with paracetamol and ibuprofen.
And main symptom today is a cough and feeling of ‘swelling’ in my throat. Not swelling as in allergy type swelling, more like I’ve coughed so much my throat is raw and swollen type swelling.

I also feel a bit breathless when I’m up and about walking around doing little jobs like washing up today.

Please can someone tell me that they were breathless up and about too.

I’m by no means massively out of breath just get a bit out of breath when doing stuff, also my nose is completely blocked which may be adding to my breathlessness while trying to do stuff.

I read google which of course told me any breathlessness even mild such as mine is a terrible sign so it would be good to hear from people who were breathless and are ok now.

I walked 6 miles the day before yesterday and today I’m out of breath walking to my bedroom so it’s a bit of a worry, so any reassurance would be really appreciated

Verity226 · 25/03/2022 00:46

I felt completely recovered for two days bar being a bit snotty so was able to resume normal activities, we took the kids for a day out to the farm today.

I seem to have relapsed badly now and im sure its covid related. I started to get stomach pain out of nowhere, followed by the runs, tachycardia, eye pain, dizziness and shaking.

My other half has had to leave work and come home, he works nights.

I'm sat on the toilet shaking Confused

Hi lovely

Yes, I was the same WRT breathlessness from day 3ish until around day 8.

I ordered a pulse oxi meter from amazon next day delivery, it cost about £15 and provided alot of reassurance as I was worried that the breathlessness meant my oxygen was low (it wasn't, it hadn't dipped at all)

Can you get hold of a pulse oxi meter?

Verity226
Thank you that is really re assuring I will get one ordered. Thank you.
(I broke the golden rule of never look at Google when stressed 🙈)

BigButtons · 25/03/2022 07:41

@Verity226 yeah it came as a real shock. I am on antibiotics as well now and off work again. I think they are helping but it’s early days. I had terrible shakes, thought I was going to be sick and faint and was freezing cold in layers of jumpers, even in this lovely sunshine x

Threeboysandadog · 25/03/2022 08:33

Day 6 for ds3 (15) and he’s still feeling pretty rough. Most of his friends have been asymptomatic or very mild symptoms so he feels quite hard done by. The rest of the household are still testing negative. I’m desperately hoping that by some miracle it will pass us by.
