Just wondering how it's going for you, what day you're on and what you're doing today.

I'm not really sure which day I'm on - iffy throat for an hour Monday (which isn't uncommon for me), had a really bad night Tuesday even/night, didn't feel great Wednesday, but only tested positive Thursday. I've done what could be a day 5 test and T line is brighter than C line. I have times when I can function, other times I just can't do or cope with anything. My symptoms are mild compared to DH who's really struggling - he had an iffy throat like me Sunday evening but didn't test positive until Tuesday. He's struggling to swallow, very red eyes, lots of sneezing and coughing still - he's done for.

We're both up (can't sleep anyway). The limit of our day is tv, internet and reading a couple of pages here and there. Bathroom needs cleaning and I can see bits and dust everywhere, but can't face that!

Newrunner29 could you try ice lollies?

Still bunged up here day 9. Otherwise ok I guess. Will do a lateral flow test today.

SunshineMoon100 · 10/02/2022 09:58

Day 4 Here.

Woke up feeling more congested and a slight headache. Still have a sore throat thats been there since day 1.

Newrunner29 · 10/02/2022 09:59

She won't have them she loves eating ice cubes but I gave her an ice cube and she pushed away she just been sick again, my youngest was sick one night about 6 times but fine in morning! My older daughter has been sick in night few times , fine yesterday and sick again this morning! Hate my children being ill as I'm sure a lot of people do it's just so stressful her being non verbal and not understanding makes it worse

Neverfittedin85 · 10/02/2022 10:10

Day 4.
Slight runny nose. Minor cough .....excruciating rib pain from the cough. Crazy dreams night 1 and 2.
Just did a cheeky pre-day 5 lft. Super strong positive still. 😖

DH - day 2, cough, could, tired, achey

Dd7 2 weeks ago, never had a single symptom yet no negative until day 8 .

I assume DD5 had it first in our house asymptomatically, as its been over 2 weeks now since DH symptoms started and now I have it (and baby I assume from symptoms but see little point testing her) but DD is still testing negative and symptom free!

Maybe she bought it home from school without us knowing, as I've since found out a few in her class have had it. I hope this is the case and she's not going to get poorly just as I'm coming out of it next week!!

hesbeen2021 · 10/02/2022 11:11

I'm Day 5 negative lft
Day 1 horrendous
Day 2-3 felt fine just a bit tired with blocked nose and constant sneezing but no cold.
Day 4-5 completely well
No cough, temperature normal after 24 hours,no loss of taste or smell
Tbh I've enjoyed having the enforced space to recover properly and quickly. My fear is that once restrictions are lifted employers are going to demand people return to work before they're well enough

Neverfittedin85 · 10/02/2022 11:11

@SazCat

I guess it's hard to tell.

I tested her as a routine on a Sunday for school the next day as requested. Positive. But not a sniffle the whole time.
I remained negative but tested positive exactly 2 weeks after her. Her dad rhe day after me.

I think it's too far down the line for us to have caught her infection but I guess we can't be sure. She definitely got it from her school, it's rife and the classes are bubbled. Her teacher was off aswell

Got everything crossed for you!

ifonly4 · 10/02/2022 14:11

HoneyFlowers Has the breathlessness got worse in last few days? Have you been checking your SATS?

I'm on day 9 here (taken from when I seriously suspected I had it rather than positive test). Still a bright red line. My legs are a bit wobbly, but I think I'd manage work. If only, I could go to local cafe for coffee and cake! DH in office today (he's WFH 4-6 hours) for last 3 days. He's been put in a small office off main department for two days, which he doesn't mind as they'll be no distburbances.

Day 9 did my lateral flow and got a negative. DS day 11 tested positive but it was a very very feint line.

Snoopsnoggysnog · 10/02/2022 15:30

Day 9 here and still testing positive which means I will miss a bunch of stuff I had planned tomorrow. Still, at least I will be out of isolation for the weekend.

Slightly better today but still have a cold and blocked nose.

LG93 · 11/02/2022 08:56

Day 8 here, tests getting fainter but won't be getting out early. Fortunately had a baby yesterday so not planning on going anywhere anytime soon! No symptoms at all now, feel completely fine.

BlueAbacus · 11/02/2022 09:16

@LG93 congratulations! Glad you’re feeling ok and enjoy the first few days together. Day 7 here and 2nd negative test here so I’m free (obviously I am exhausted and have no plans 😂)

Congratulations @LG93 Glad you feel better, enjoy your new baby!

My test has gone really feint today, day 7 👍 so hopefully be out on Sunday! Just a lingering cough and tight chest. 10 month old seems fine now tho.

BethDutton · 11/02/2022 10:57

Day 19, still snuffy, did lft and it was negative, second one in a row so I am freeee. I will use this freeeedom by going to buy groceries.

SazCat good to hear you and little one are improving.

LG93 congratulations and well done! Casually dropping “had a baby yesterday” into your post, you scamp. A thread baby how lovely.

BethDutton · 11/02/2022 10:57

That should be day 9.

Jellyfishsandwiches · 11/02/2022 11:08

I tested positive this morning. Had a headache for a few days but no positive test ( test twice a week for work), woke up with a sore throat so thought I'd do a quick test to reassure myself it was just a cold... No such luck! Feeling pretty rubbish, headache, aching all over, sore throat and stuffy nose.

Feeling very down and sorry for myself, I live alone and was really looking forward to seeing a friend this weekend.

Thanks everyone! I think he's lovely but I'm probably biased 🥰
Snoopsnoggysnog · 11/02/2022 12:07

Wow @lg93 how lovely a thread baby! Congratulations, he’s beautiful.
I’m intrigued as to the situation for giving birth in a hospital if you have COVID - how does that work? Or did you have him at home? Flowers

ifonly4 · 11/02/2022 13:37

Congratulations LG93, and lovely to see your little one.

Day 10, LFT still positive, hasn't even got fainter. I'll have to work Sunday, so hope I'm not infectious as I come into contact with lots of people.

We were quarantined in the delivery suite and stayed there until discharge rather than moving to postnatal. The silver lining is meant that DH could be with me the whole time as he quarantined with me so couldn't come and go so didn't need to worry about visiting restrictions! They did say when numbers are high they open a 'red zone' postnatal ward to free up space on delivery suite but there was only 2 of us in who were positive so they left us where we were
stayingaliveisawayoflife · 11/02/2022 17:53

I tested positive on lateral flow on Friday last week. I then did the PCR I had preordered on Saturday and that came back positive on Sunday. I spent most of those two days in bed. Whole body aches, sinus issues, headache that wouldn't go even with paracetamol, it was rough. I generously shared with my husband and he tested positive on Tuesday.

Yesterday my stomach was not happy but I do have Crohn's disease so it could be that.

I am now on day seven and still testing positive. I am now starting to feel better just still very tired.

It was definitely not just a cold or flu though as it was such a mix of symptoms.

Snoopsnoggysnog · 11/02/2022 18:26

Day 10 here - feeling much better today but still positive. I can come out of isolation tomorrow though so I’m going to go for a nice long walk and top up my vitamin D.

Moongirl10 · 11/02/2022 18:38

Day 5 for me. Main issue is sore/tight chest, wheezing type cough. Slight headache and tiredness. Day 1 and 2 I could barely get up. Triple vaxxed as well.

Day 7 for my 20 month old. He still has runny nose, cough and red itchy eyes. This whole week has been a nightmare.

Husband lost sense of taste and smell for 24 hrs but no other symptoms.

bumblingbovine49 · 11/02/2022 18:43

Just tested positive this morning and I'm already feeling a lot worse.

As I'm over 59 I've just signed up to this trial though and got randomly allocated to the antiviral drug. www.panoramictrial.org/

They are delivering it tomorrow and I have to take it for five days. You have to be willing to report symptoms daily for 28 days whether you get the drug or not though. Hopefully it works or at least won't make me worse 😅
