Just wondering how it's going for you, what day you're on and what you're doing today.

I'm not really sure which day I'm on - iffy throat for an hour Monday (which isn't uncommon for me), had a really bad night Tuesday even/night, didn't feel great Wednesday, but only tested positive Thursday. I've done what could be a day 5 test and T line is brighter than C line. I have times when I can function, other times I just can't do or cope with anything. My symptoms are mild compared to DH who's really struggling - he had an iffy throat like me Sunday evening but didn't test positive until Tuesday. He's struggling to swallow, very red eyes, lots of sneezing and coughing still - he's done for.

We're both up (can't sleep anyway). The limit of our day is tv, internet and reading a couple of pages here and there. Bathroom needs cleaning and I can see bits and dust everywhere, but can't face that!

They are 5 & 7. I haven't parented at all really since yesterday. I do have a DP so they are fed and watered but I do most of everything so he's felt a bit overwhelmed I think. He is isolating with symptoms but a negative LF.

mulberrybag5 · 05/02/2022 21:36

@AllThingsServeTheBeam oh no that sounds awful, was it related to covid?

@itsjustnotok keep resting and don’t go back to work!

BethDutton · 05/02/2022 21:37

itsjustnotokwork will have to muddle through without you! Put your health first.

Just climbed Mt Everest (had a shower) and ran a half marathon (changed pillow cases, duvet cover impossible feat). Back to bed now.

Hope everyone gets some rest.

Finding this thread helpful, thanks all.

They think so. I have RA so take drugs that lower my immune system. Plus I am still recovering from a knee replacement I had in the new year. I think it got me because I was so washed out.

The steroids are doing the job though. I feel so much better already!

mulberrybag5 · 05/02/2022 21:43

@BethDutton about to climb the same mountain!

brio4ever · 05/02/2022 21:44

@AllThingsServeTheBeam

I'm day 9. Have tested negative now. But free tomorrow anyway.

I had to go to A&E on Thursday (111 sent me) because they suspected a clot on my lung. I hadn't, but had got quite a bad infection in my throat and lung. So I'm on antibiotics and steroids. I've had laryngitis for the whole time, today is the first day I have been able to speak above a strained whisper for a week. My throat had been so so sore. I called 111 (or was made to my dp) as I was extremely breathless and I had coughed up phlegm with blood in it. It's not been good, but thankfully looking better today

Snap! I spent 5 hours in hospital yesterday after an out of hours doctor sent me to rule out blood clots. I have tested negative for covid since Monday, which was day 10, but continued to cough up bloody mucus and have chest pain. I've also had laryngitis for over a week. Hospital diagnosed a second chest infection alongside covid.

I think I’m on day 6 now, had symptoms last Sunday and then Monday tested positive along with OH and dd2. Dd1 who is 8 has stayed negative so far and I hope it stays that way.
Had a strong positive result today. Desperate to be negative so I can escape the house! Poor dd1 turned 2 yesterday and i can tell is missing going out.
Hope everyone feels ok.

Aquarius1 · 05/02/2022 21:51

I tested positive on Tues after having a sore throat/ beginnings of a cold on Monday. Im still suffering headaches, muscle aches / stiffness, reduced sense of taste, congestion, hot flushes, fatigue and generally feeling rubbish. It really is much worse than just a cold (even with being boosted). My husband has it and we are both still testing strongly positive on LFTs. DCs are negative thankfully. Finding this thread helpful - thanks Op 🙏

DirtyDancing · 05/02/2022 21:52

DS tested positive on Monday.
Wednesday night I started to feel not quite right, like I had a cold on the way.
Thursday sore throat. Neg LFs to went for a PCR.
Friday, really heavy cold. Blocked nose, croaky voice, headache. Sore throat disappeared. Glands up. PCR came through positive Friday evening. By the time I went to bed I ached from head to toe.

Today, I have had little energy, mild headache and stuffy nose. My sense of smell and taste is coming and going. Could taste my coffee this morning but very little else since. Smelt some of the toiletries in the bathroom and could smell them one minute and then nothing the next! Just had some jam on toast for supper and I could have been eating cardboard!!

CandyLeBonBon · 05/02/2022 21:56

Headache and sore throat started 6pm Monday night. LFT negative, felt rough Tuesday morning - LFT faint positive. By Thursday I couldn't breathe properly and I was sent to a&e as Sats were a bit low.

Hone now and still have cough/sore throat and can barely speak/have sore mouth/tongue but don't feel as ill in myself. V tired. Also triple jabbed!

Tanfastic · 05/02/2022 21:56

Ds 13 tested positive on Monday after developing a headache and watery eyes. That lasted about three hours and he's been perfectly okay since. Still testing positive today on LFT's. The rest of our household including me remain negative. This is the first time any of us have had covid.

Newrunner29 · 05/02/2022 22:00

I tested like 3am Thursday morning, dd awake in night and hot so just had feeling as had cold since Tuesday but thought was allergies, rapid positive for me husband negative thur, got more tests and dd positive friday, not testing older dd as disabled and would b too difficult. But same symptoms as younger dd so assuming, husband negative rapid so ent for pcr friday and came back positive, ive got cold feels like allergies, headache and goes dizzy occasionally, dds bad nappies and occasionally temp, husband cough not too bad im super worried about breathing as have asthma but been ok

Newrunner29 · 05/02/2022 22:01

This is first time for us

Newrunner29 · 05/02/2022 22:02

Also very random but my chin itches when i have bad asthma and today its been very itchy but haven't used inhalers too much!

Sh05 · 05/02/2022 22:04

DS who is 18 is on end of day 5 today so will test tomorrow and Monday to see if he can go back to college.
He had a sniffly nose, red eyes and felt feverish for day 1&2.
He's feeling completely fine now alhamdulillah and is bored. Spending most of his day completing his coursework for college and on his phone.

Sh05 · 05/02/2022 22:07

It's his second time, he had COVID in September 2020 and he's doubles jabbed and boosted. The first time he was similar symptoms, just a headache on day one and feverish for first 24 hours

WaitinginVain · 05/02/2022 22:15

I tested positive on Monday. Have had heavy cold-type symptoms, cough and headache and still shivery, achy and have an awful pain in my back that started last Saturday. Feel absolutely wiped out and still testing strongly positive.
DC2 and 3 both tested positive last Saturday but had very different symptoms - vomiting/rash. DC2 has tested negative today and DC3 has faint line.

AllThingsServeTheBeam · 05/02/2022 22:18

@brio4ever horrible isn't it. I was alone in a plaster room from 8.30pm until 2.15am. Are you vaccinated? I've had 3! I'm glad I didn't experience it without. DP and my dad both tested positive a few days after me and both had very minimal symptoms. Both DC and my mum are still negative.

brio4ever · 05/02/2022 22:48

Yep triple vaccinated as well, and very glad to be too! I have several underlying conditions, although none that supposedly put me into vulnerable category or affect my chest/breathing, but do have some autoimmune features. This bout of Covid/2nd chest infection count as my 4 & 5 respiratory infections in the last 6 months Sad My DD(4) caught it from me, and other than being more emotional than usual, had no symptoms. Husband hasn’t caught it from either of us despite not distancing. The worst thing has been my voice, I’m a teacher and the only one for my subject in the school, and desperately need to get back. On antibiotics now so hoping it won’t be too much longer!

brio4ever · 05/02/2022 22:49

Sorry that reply was to @AllThingsServeTheBeam

Tulips21 · 05/02/2022 22:56

I tested positive 27th Jan. Had a bad cold for 3 days and just lathargic, really tired, not slept well.
Negative day 6 & 7, felt muh better but cant shake the waves of tiredness and headaches on and off.
My taste and smell still havent returned and Ive still lost appetite.
Throughout I have been able to clean house for an hour a day and cook and care for Dc as bestas poss ( Dp isolated away from our home for 12 days until we were all negative!)

SpongebobsPants · 05/02/2022 22:59

I'm on day 9. Still testing positive though! It has been very mild for me. Started with pressure in my head when I leaned forward (had no idea it might be Covid until DS2 tested positive), progressed to a scratchy throat, then runny nose and slight cough on Day 5 or so. Stayed like that through day 6 and then felt almost back to normal by day 7. Have had every vaccination I can get my hands onGrin

AllThingsServeTheBeam · 05/02/2022 23:00

My voice has been terrible. Really had to strain to make any sound and a single cough could just switch it off completely. I WFH and was back on 50% hours this week and video calls were comical! I had to have Friday off. I just stayed in bed most of the day.

I hope you start to feel better soon

lugeforlife · 06/02/2022 09:22

Got headache on Monday pm. Neg lft

Felt rough Tuesday like cold coming. Headache/sore throat etc. did pcr at home as dd had a 'weird' result on lft and it was spreading round her friendship group. Got told off by fam for being paranoid as every other test was a negative

Woke at 4 on weds morning feeling really rough. HeAdache, lots of sinus pain, really bad aches, sore throat. Got pcr test back as positive at 4pm. Dd1 positive, Dd2 negative. Ironically was feeling a lot better and planned to work the next day

Day 4/5 Awful. Dizzy and very spacey and still aches. headache and sore throat gone. Snotty nose. Cough. No taste/smell. Sore eyes. Very tired but can't sleep for more than a couple of hours. Dd2 gets really strong positive lft after neg pcr the day before.

Day 6 better but still very dizzy, tired really easily. Dh has to watch me walk downstairs as I nearly fell. Hungry but also don't want to eat. V strong positive on lft. Dd1 still positive it v weak.

Today - woken up by horrific tooth ache which I think is sinus. Headache, tired and dizzy. Snotty. Really vivid dreams. So far don't feel better than yesterday so not going to waste a test as I am not planning on going anywhere. Aches are back.

Both dds (pre teens) no symptoms at all.

MollyQueenOfSocks · 06/02/2022 10:04

Absolute shite. Day 13 here and the last couple of days have felt like the worst head cold. Constantly coughing and nose streaming and NOTHING is working to make it better at all.

I am also recovering from a Csection (which I had on day 4 of infection) with a newborn to look after. I keep saying it but I'm so grateful to be vaccinated, because I can't imagine how awful I wouold feel had I not been and these symptoms are considered "Mild" apparently.....
