Just wondering how it's going for you, what day you're on and what you're doing today.

I'm not really sure which day I'm on - iffy throat for an hour Monday (which isn't uncommon for me), had a really bad night Tuesday even/night, didn't feel great Wednesday, but only tested positive Thursday. I've done what could be a day 5 test and T line is brighter than C line. I have times when I can function, other times I just can't do or cope with anything. My symptoms are mild compared to DH who's really struggling - he had an iffy throat like me Sunday evening but didn't test positive until Tuesday. He's struggling to swallow, very red eyes, lots of sneezing and coughing still - he's done for.

We're both up (can't sleep anyway). The limit of our day is tv, internet and reading a couple of pages here and there. Bathroom needs cleaning and I can see bits and dust everywhere, but can't face that!

@BlueAbacus I’ve got a 4 and a 5 year old. I’m masking up round them, not doing all the touchy stuff I usually would and sleeping in my study. Impossible to stay away from children! They’re both testing negative at the mo but my 5 year old coughed tonight before bed and said he felt dizzy so I’m expecting a positive tomorrow.

HPandTheNeverEndingBedtime · 06/02/2022 20:17

@mulberrybag5 I wouldn't bother staying away from your child too much. DD had delta in September and was really poorly so she absolutely did not want it again. She avoided me all week, all windows were open, she did all the cooking, cleaning and cat care and I stayed in my bedroom and only used the bathroom. Even with all those precautions she tested positive yesterday.

I on the other hand did not isolate from her in September, she even coughed and sneezed in my face (by accident) and I didn't catch it. I just think Omicron is so transmissible it's going to get transmitted.

mulberrybag5 · 06/02/2022 20:38

@HPandTheNeverEndingBedtime it’s so transmissible isn’t it! I think it’s inevitable and I’m surprised they’ve not tested positive yet as I’m day 5

blacknotblue · 06/02/2022 20:43

I have to date managed to not transfer to anyone in my house. I have however kept myself in my bedroom and husband has gone to spare room

Snoopsnoggysnog · 06/02/2022 20:59

I’ve had different symptoms today (day5) - no fever, no sore throat today but really runny nose, sore glands, cough. Still feel shattered.
DD is on day 7 and still has a faint positive so no school tomorrow.
DH and DS are still negative

twinkie100 · 06/02/2022 21:43

Thanks for this thread OP. I'm on day 5 of symptoms, day 2 since positive test.

It's so strange, even though I'm triple jabbed I can't help but feel nervous..! I think after two years of being told how dangerous it is, it's probably only natural to be worried. Anyone else feel like that?

mulberrybag5 · 06/02/2022 21:52

@twinkie100 yes! I feel fine, just really on edge and freaked out I’ve got covid!

LG93 · 06/02/2022 22:11

We're officially day 3 here, but suspect both of us (definitely DH) has had it longer than we realised. Both tests are fading, mines still pretty strong but his is barely noticeable now. He had a cold last weekend and tested several times but had no positive but assuming that was it. I've got a scratchy throat and have had on/off headache but nothing to write home about, feel hot and a bit breathless but I'm 39 weeks pregnant so it's almost impossible to distinguish between what's normal pregnancy and what's covid (hence delay in testing!!) Being induced on Wednesday, fingers crossed DHs day 5 and 6 tests are negative so he can be with me. Based on how much his test has faded from yesterday to today I'm hopeful for him 🤞

ifonly4 · 07/02/2022 11:01

NotquitewhatImeant Hope it's not too bad for you. How are you today?

Snoopsnoggysnog It's strange how symptoms change, isn't it? Nothing I can't live with, but I'm back to a constant headache today. Feel physically better at moment, so am aiming to change DH's bed (well, out bed, but I moved out so we don't keep eachother awake) and the bathroom is desperate for a clean. Hopefully you'll have a bit more energy soon.

DH's test slightly lighter this morning (an iffy throat since Sunday even but tested positive Tuesday). Mine's still bright bed (symptons since Mon even, tested positive Thurs) - quite glad really - if gives me at lease a couple of days to build myself up before going back to full on work.

My DD had symptoms (sore throat headache aching, tired) Wednesday/ Thursday/Friday and negative tests. Tested positive Saturday morning!

BethDutton · 07/02/2022 12:34

Day 6 for me, slept for 10 hours last night and feel a lot better today. Definitely on the mend, lucky me. My teenage son is on day 8 and did a lateral flow test this morning, still showing positive but very light line.

Question - weirdly my DH hasn’t got it, we haven’t isolated, he didn’t want me to move to spare room! Anyone else have a partner it’s bounced off? We are both 50s but he drinks very little alcohol (unlike me) and is in our home gym every morning (again unlike me). Seriously wondering if my lack of fitness has gone against me.

SquareNotCircle · 07/02/2022 12:43

I thought I was more or less recovered and am at work although working from home. However, I feel sort of out of it and tired - this must be the brain fog

Snoopsnoggysnog · 07/02/2022 12:49

Also have brain fog and really struggling to concentrate on work.

ScrumptiousBears · 07/02/2022 13:00

I'm day 4 today and pretty much still bed bound. Currently have a headache that I can't get rid off and pains in my stomach and pelvis. I also cannot concentrate or even watch tv. I'm barely eating and sleep most of the time. I'm really sad that I had all my jabs and I'm ended up like this when others simply had a cold. I'm also gutted I have to call in sick at work. I never call in sick at work.

mulberrybag5 · 07/02/2022 13:20

I’m feeling a bit breathless today but negative day 6

Snoopsnoggysnog · 07/02/2022 13:43

I’m also day 6 and still have strong positive Sad

Oti22 · 07/02/2022 14:01

Day 5 and strong positive. DP day 7 and he one negative and one positive, he also did two yesterday and they were the same! I think this may be a long week waiting for negatives…

NotquitewhatImeant · 07/02/2022 14:05

Thanks @ifonly4. Feeling worse, fever, splitting headache and sore chest. Much worse than I expected it to be to be honest.

Hope everyone else is doing ok and make speedy recoveries

CandyLeBonBon · 07/02/2022 14:15

None of my teens have had it in spite of sitting with me on my bed and chatting to me most days (my dd had it just before Christmas and none of us caught it then either!)
BlueAbacus · 07/02/2022 15:08

@BethDutton my DH doesn’t have it either, neither do my DCs (although both of them coughing and sneezing so 🤷🏻‍♀️). DH is a bit healthier than I am in general, especially around exercise and alcohol so there may be something in that, but I think it’s very random. Most of my friends’ households have had random patterns with who did/didn’t succumb.

Day 3/4 here. Tired, sore throat and cough but have had a normal day in terms of looking after the kids. DH has taken them for a walk now and I’m having a lie down. Only a couple of hours to bath and bedtime… 🤪 hope everyone feels better soon

BethDutton · 07/02/2022 16:10

Thanks guys, it probably is random, just my guilty conscience.

marieantoinehairnet · 07/02/2022 16:15

Day 6 and strong positive, DH now has it too... barking like dogs in unison, one child has had it before us, the other seems immune

Harecaughtinheadlights · 07/02/2022 17:00

I’m on day 3, I’m completely unvaccinated, so I’m very fearful and anxious at the moment.
The fever seems to have disappeared (for now) still have some body aches and tiredness now. Coughing and very blocked up sinuses/nose. The awful headache I had yesterday has gone.

Harecaughtinheadlights · 07/02/2022 17:01

Took another test today, test line stronger than control line! Does anyone know what this means exactly? That I’m at the peak of infection maybe?

BethDutton · 07/02/2022 17:07

Try not to panic Harecaughtintheheadlights. Just do as little as possible and sleep as much as you can. Not sure about the heaviness of the line and stage of illness. However my 18 yr old had an extremely dark line and mine has only ever been very light and he hasn’t been sicker than me, for what that’s worth.
